Monk Synopsis: Adrian Monk (Emmy®-winner Tony Shalhoub) was once a rising star with the San Francisco Police Department, legendary for using unconventional means to solve the department's most baffling cases. But after the tragic and still-unsolved murder of his wife, Trudy, the devastated Monk becomes obsessive-compulsive. His psychological disorder has caused him to develop an abnormal fear of virtually everything: germs, heights, crowds... even milk. Monk's condition costs him his job, but he's back as a police consultant despite the unique challenges he encounters in his everyday life. These challenges lead Monk to hire a personal nurse, Sharona Fleming (Bitty Schram), who is always there to offer her assistance, even with the simplest of tasks (like organizing his sock drawer). Her less-than-subtle prodding keeps the "defective detective" on track in his investigations, as well as in his efforts to convince Captain Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) to allow him to return to the force.

I’m glad they abandoned the idea of Stottlemeyer and Randy being assholes to Monk.
True, although it did lead up to a frustrating retcon in later seasons.
At times Disher is so STUPID he reminds me of ME!
@@akmi1931I mean early season he was still coming off of the death of his wife so Leland had doubts about him being able to handle it, and he probably only knew monk from when he was married to Trudy and it was noted she kept a lot of his worst phobias at bay, I don’t k ow when Randy would’ve know monk he may have come in as monk left the force. It was only over time that Leland and Randy realized he was still sharp as a tac and able to solve cases properly despite his phobias.
Did they abandon it or did Stottlemeyer and Disher just grow as characters and start trusting Monk?
@@weneedaladder8384 they grew in my opinion
Monk: “The victim was stabbed.”
Randy: “Yeah, how did you know that?”
Me: Oh, this must be season 1...
It was great how they developed his character over the years.
@@markseslstorytellerchannel3418 Too bad the movie was such a huge disappointment 😥😥😥😥
I hope they don't try it again? I had to go visit a relative who has the streaming network to watch it, and boy what a waste of time!! And now my cousin keeps asking when I will come over again.... Dang!!!
@@keithbannister9271this provides us with nothing 😂
@keithbannister9271 That movie was BEYOND disappointing. It was a very generic, obvious crime forced into Monk's personal life and the suicide stuff was just beyond depressing.
I felt bad for Monk in this. Feeling a connection with someone only to find out that she’s married and she’s going to try to make things work with her husband.😢😢😢 At least she wasn’t leading him on, but it’s still sad.😢💔
And at least he didn't make her walk up to the top of a skyscraper to go to dinner. (Mr. Monk and the Blackout)
Whoever came up with the design of the killer really hit the mark because that guy is actually scary
*came
@@l.a.3479Thank you I fixed it
One of my favorite “Here’s What Happened” from Monk where he exposes the murderer when they try to escape.
Stottlemyer had quite a bit of doubt in Monk in this particular episode.
This was one of the first episodes of monk. The captian started off super sceptical of monk, only slowly learning to truat his instincts
@@natenathan2654 Which is so strange because by the end of the series the backstory was that they were partners when Monk was on the force.
This was still in the early seasons, he develops his trust and "Monk" style of thinking as the seasons go on
Also cops shouldn't be arresting people because one guy has a hunch but no evidence. Monk didn't have a suspect until the last 10 mins of the episode lol
Monk ant the captian were partners but then monk had a compleste nervous breakdown when trudy died.
Sharona: 'I know you told me but I didn't listen.' Best character.
2 Columbo plot references- the whole dead uncle, will & framing someone else from "Suitable For Framing", with a bit of a nod to "Caution, Murder Can Be hazardous To Your Health" with the dog at the end.
Very astute, except the dog reference is a bit off; in the Colombo plot the murderer trained the dogs to attack.
@@robertperry4439 No, the one where George Hamilton poisoned some cigarettes
How amazing is that Monk spotted the wrong file in by seeing that drawer opened for like a second, wow
"I'd be there myself but i dont fly." 😅
Same 🤪
You can smell gunpowder residue in a room this size for 4 days. You can? He can.
Lol "Oh my goodness" "If i ever had a garage, I would want it to look exactly like this, everything has it's own spot n organized n labeled" "Do I eat dinner Sharona?" "Yes you do" "Then it's a date, we'll get together for dinner"
🤣
Me too
Asking a woman out 101 with Monk:
"I'm me. Do you eat dinner? Do I eat dinner? We both eat dinner! It's a date"
"Do I eat dinner?
Storytime.
Back during Blockbuster times, I was going through Monk, season 1 through season 8, one DVD at a time. Only when I got to season 4, I couldn't find one of the disks. I asked the clerk. She said it was somewhere in the store, but probably just misfiled.
Couldn't go on, skipping episodes, going out of order. Wouldn't be right.
I'll always remember picturing a lone DVD of Monk Season 4, disk 4, lost in that store, sandwitched between Nightmare on Elm Street and Joe Dirt.
I’m dyslexic, I felt sorry for my successor in the file room 😂
Great episode of Monk
9:13 -- This seems like a good time to call the captain back.
The actor playing the original suspect was the star of DaVinci's Inquest. He is a very talented actor. Nicholas Campbell is his name.
In this episode, Monk makes the worst bodyguard.
With the gardening tool, LOL
The first episode of Monk I ever saw!
You got a great one, fortunate for you... 😊😊😊😊
I love you, Monk❤😂
Trudy is helping him from the great beyond
i miss this show
So do I, what a shame the movie was such a huge disappointment...😢😢😢
@@keithbannister9271 was there even a movie? most of old series is better to not have a movie same vice versa or remake of an old movie.. i rather keep old movies as they are
The real crime in these early episodes is that rug they have Ted Levine wearing.
You're mean, I bet you were a bully in school like tRump, and you probably still are...🤔
@MilesJohn Wow, that was really mean!! You're a bully, just like tRump....😡😡😡😡
I love Sharona. Pitty her character didn't return in the movie or so it seems from the trailer.
Sounds like you haven't seen it yet? Spoiler Alert, don't waste your time, it's a huge disappointment...SMH...😢😢😢😢
@@keithbannister9271 No it wasn't. It might've not been as strong as the series but it was still at the very least a good film, not Oscar worthy or anything like that just good.
I’d love to meet this guy. What an amazing actor
So if a middle one was right behind another middle, how was Monk able to pick that one up instead of the equally incorrect middle one in front of it?
Because of the name. Monk was at his uncle’s memorial service
#1 season leland 🥰, been rewatching monk tony shaloub & ted Levine 😘. monk & leland relationship changed because levine started talking to writers to give leland more depth .
I forgot about how little Stottlemeyer cared about Monk's detective skills in the early seasons. By the later seasons Stottlemeyer would mostly have Monk's back with everything.
What made Todd think that his Uncle, Thomas, would leave everything to him, when Thomas should have left everything to his grandchildren?
Wasn’t he taking care of him
@@potsdam28 I doubt it. If Todd was taking care of his Uncle, the Uncle would have included Todd in the will instead of cutting him out of it. You know?
So with that left-middle-right filing system, if a new record needs to be added somewhere, wouldn't that require you to shuffle every single file either before it or after it?
Exactly. It's impossible, even if it was Monk's filing system.
What IS possible, however, and what they probably wanted to express, is to make sure no two tabs of the same kind are next to each other. If you need to add file between one left and one middle, you make it right; similarly for all other cases. If you take the file out, you just need to adjust the tab on one of the two files next to it. That can be done easily.
Not necessarily. If it was by date instead of alphabetic then you'd only ever add files on the end. Although I don't know if a lawyer's office would function that way.
a building like that without security cameras?
The end story sounds like something you might see on 4chan or some website like that!!
Hello im a Monk Fan he is a Legend
That was quite a leap in logic to assume that her husband is dead and buried under the garage just because it started getting built a few days after he went missing.
It appears Monk's ocd has its perks 😅.
Monk on a date would be great, if it worked out.
Bei Stottlemeyer muß ich immer an "Buffalo Bill/Schweigen der Lämmer" denken ...
Seamless co-op
So, what exactly is Tommys Sentence in all This?
If you mean Todd, than i would expect a life sentence or two...
@@captaindreadeye6264 Details?
@evanallaire2829 I'm no lawyer, but there's first degree murder for Lou and Grayson's murders, second degree for Regina the secretary, forgery of the will...
Forget how gruesome this show can be. I mean it’s a detective show but still, a triple murder for inheritance money is pretty wack
One guy killed 11 people
12:55 - or, it was right in front of another middle (i.e. either of those two "middles" could have been the smoking gun)
Hello there! How can I reach you as I have a video of Monk which i have edited, its about tommy and him. I really want to share it with your channel, I mean you can have a look at it and tell me whether its good or not.
Guy could have evaded Monk more easily if he called in his UAV
Which season is this
Randy a drama 😅
She looks like Julia Roberts.
Oh my goodness, how can you insult the fabulous beauty of this actress....🤔
@@keithbannister9271 Fair call...
Isn't a triple kill a Serial Killer?
it wasn’t a bad plan, but it wasn't idiot proof
