My router (a 3040 Chinese) that I've had for 10 years started acting up. The spindle wouldn't start. I figured it was the spindle had gone bad, so I replaced it. It didn't start either. So I messed with the settings and tried everything I could think of. Nothing! Then I came across this video. Tried it and it worked perfectly. Not sure how the settings in the VFD suddenly changed, but this fixed it. Thanks Soat Mon, you're a life saver.😁
Two savvy blokes and three days going round in circles. We went all over RUclips and found lots of contradictions. Then 45 minutes following your instructions and we are up and running. Many thanks.
Hi I'm new to this cnc stuff and without the information you gave my machine would be scrap. But all good now. So thank you for your time making this video it helps people like me to learn much easier and have a working machine.
I have the same router as you bought it brand new took everything out sets for the variable frequency drive put a duet Wi-Fi to in it without even checking if everything worked that came with it lol I do that more often than not so I couldn't get the spindle spinning you just saved my life you're the man.
Thank you I just bought a CNC machine from Amazon and it came without the Mach 3 and without directions so I tried to get it for a month and finally returned it and got another one and it didn't come with directions or Mach 3 so it's just a paper wait does the first time I've been able to at least turn my spindle on thank you for walking me through that
OMG SOAT MAN thanks. You saved me. Also the dude that mentioned DrufelCNC. You ever want a silver bar at spot hit me up, I know who you are. It’s running.
In the video you stated that you would post all the settings in the description. Where did you get this information. Where can I get a copy, in the form of a pdf file, for reference.
@Soat Mon Trying to follow these instructions, but as I'm attempting to set d002 I get it to 400.0 on the screen, but the moment I press the func button it changes to 40.00. Can you help with this? I have a PTR-R1500W according to my controller face plate.
Great Video, it helps to make my cncest working correctly. Now I have a question to you, in case you had the same problem. The machine doesn't have the Probe Z, if you have a USB 6040, do you know how can we install one? In what port inside we can connect the probe piece? By do way, do you have a video that shows config and control spindle from mach3.
Hi again from Australia. Thanks for your help with the spindle. My problem now is that still nothing else works. Ive installed mac3 and all works great, the roadrunner program runs all the way through great. The problem is that the pc doesnt comunicate with control box. With it turned on the stepper motors cant be turned so they have power. I have a USB model and when I installed it I didnt ok the parrallel port driver install so I dont think it has driver for the USB. Do you think this could be the problem and where could I get the driver thats neded. Thanks from Merv
Unfortunately I don't have a lot of experience with this but I would think that Windows would install the drivers when you connect the usb to your computer. You might try uninstalling the drivers and let it install it a second time. I don't really know...
go to drufelcnc.com download it. It is a free control software it auto detects cnc card.I got it from a thread on a cnc blog saved me a big headache just to get it started. So thanks to them and thanks Soat Mon its running.

Hi thanks for the video I got my spindle working in manual mode after watching your video but it won’t run in pc mode if you have any ideas that would be great I am running mach3 thanks
Hi soat, just setting up my cncest 3040 with an 800w spindle, would you have any idea if the outlined steps would be applicable to the smaller machine? All the best, James
Thank you!! Do you have a link to the documentation on this unit? I can't find my paperwork or PDFs from when I set it up originally and had to reset it. I wonder if there is a cmos battery inside that died so it lost my old settings? Anyway your procedure worked and I'm back in business but would like to have docs for future in case I need them. Thanks again!
Search for this PDF 01.-cnc3040-with-prt-e750-drive-complete-english-documentation.pdf it has a list starting on page 9. Should be for this controller.
No I bought it but it they come with some issues like shown in the video. Definitely not for beginners. You have to trouble shoot a lot but the hardware seems good. Still haven't put it to any tests. I just posted this for anyone that may be having the same problem. Appears to be a common one.

Hi from Australia, "YOU ARE THE MAN" finally I have a spindle working, thankyou regards Merv
Glad to help
Thanks. Tried it once without resetting to factory and it didn't work. So I reset the second time and it worked.
Glad I could help
Thank You so Very Much. Spindle was DOA. It worked. There is know reason this should not be in the instructions. At least for USA.
Your welcome! I'm glad this video is still helping people but you would think they would have fixed this by now.
Your an Angel. and you have provided a great indepth video to setup,
Thank you and your video should be the number one place for this VFD setup.
Glad it was helpful!
Though I'll likely never own a CNC, I appreciate you sharing your knowledge & experience.
Thanks Mike I don't expect to actually do a lot with it right now but I got it set up. I just have one other video on it for now.

Good information. The speed displayed is missing the final zero. 2400 indicated is actually 24000 or a second example 1230 is 12300
Thanks!
Hello! Thank you for this video! I bought another spindle motor with max current 4A, so how to change the max current limit from 10A to 4A?
Thanks for letting me know!

Brilliant video, but do these settings apply to UK 240 volt 50hz VDF boxes?
I would think the settings are the same.

Hello ... I want a very nice video and I also get this particular cnc machine .. what programs do I need to have for the design?
I use fusion 360 to design the part and run the machine with Mach4 but to use Mach4 you have to alter the machine. Mach3 will run on it as is.
how do I get it to run my A or Rotary Axis?
Excellent Video. You saved me alot of time. Do you know by any chance how to get the actual spindle RPM to show in Mach3. By me it only shows 0 RPM.
You're welcome! I don't know how to get it to show in Mach3.
