Nothing like getting to work early and finding a Jimmy DiResta video waiting to be watched. That is seriously badass and an unbelievably elegant solution all rolled into one. Thank you Jimmy!
I just want to say thank you for your videos, you remind me a lot of my father, always a project going on and always something to learn. A carpenter for 30 years, he taught me everything I know about working with my hands. The only time i've ever seen a repair man in the house was a water heater install, other than that, my dad worked his ass off and worked more after, still somehow finding the time to cook and clean at the end of the day. Those are great memories, and you are part of what helps me feel like he's still around.
+jimmydiresta SELL THIS! You could make money off these if you could find a way to mass produce them on the cheap (try to keep it in North America though if you can).
Jimmy, as amateur bladesmith I can tell you: is one of the best ideas I've seen in my live, obviuously isn't as strong as a full tang knife, but neither is for battoning and wasting jobs, this join is stronger than many folding knives and those are used for skinning hunting and common tasks, don't pay attention about "not full tang, no real knife" geeks
Absolutely love this combination of a proper blade and a multi tool. Leathermans tend to have a tiny blade made of soft steel, but this is a great way to eliminate that problem. Keep up the good work!
I love how you melded these two objects together. One of my favorites out of your many creative projects. Not because I am a knife guy, but because of the thought process you displayed in making it. I love the menagerie of techniques for fabricating items that you constantly display. Everything from smelting to kerfing, vacuum forming to hydraulic pressing leather. Please keep doing what you do.
I don't normally post comments on youtube videos (though I subscribe to a lot of maker oriented channels), but I just had to. That is freaking genius. I want one. I don't know how I'd live without my leatherman skeletool! :-)
Jimmy- I'm 17 and I live in Los Angeles, and I started building furniture (tables/lamps/etc) because of stumbling upon your videos about two years ago. I have seen every one of your youtube videos a solid 3 times at least, and watched every hammered episode/against the grain/ everything I could find online. I have made a lot of things via inspiration from your different projects, and would not have a shop at home/ have started woodworking without seeing your stuff. I saw your brother at the Fairfax flea market this past weekend and asked him a question, but I don't think he really knew the answer. I was just wondering how long each one of your projects takes? For example the Coffin or the different tables. Love your videos, and about to go try and build something now!
if you're not listening to the "making it" podcast with Jimmy Diresta and David Picciuto(aka the drunken woodworker) you're missing out - They talk shop all the time and Jimmy usually answers frequently asked questions... there's also a nerdist podcast with the same title - just google for making it diresta podcast - that'll do ya
Amazing art and craftmanship! I already loved the first version of this knife and I love and appreciate that you took it even one more step forward and created this stunning knife.
Way to go, Jimmy! I absolutely love your creativity, not just in coming up with new ideas, but also your creative techniques. Thank you so much for sharing your work with everyone.
at first i had my doubts about this build, but it came together nicely. its good to see someone building stuff, its becoming a lost art in this country, doing things with your hands.
I'm emailing the Woodcraft product managers to let them know that the Which blade is By FAR the coolest implementation of a Woodriver blade blank to date. The version 2.0 is rather splendid too. You, sir, are the epitome of "maker".
jimmydiresta I really enjoy watching the building process you go through with these, if someone were to send yoj materials to make one of these custom multitool knives would you fabricate one for that person?
You sir are a true artisan in your field. I honestly don't comment on a lot of RUclips videos but videos like this are quite inspirational and deserve everyone's attention. People like you, with immense creativity and skill, are often overlooked in today's society. Thank you so much for sharing! Please keep up this amazing work!
I feel like i've been missing so much by just discovering your channel today, This project made me smile so much, thank you good sir! Your table saw skills were frightening to watch in the first few videos i saw, but by the 6th or so i could see you're safe and very comfortable with using the best tool for the job, This is very inspiring to me and i'm gonna have to try it out. Looking forward to new videos!
just started watching your videos, thank you for what you do...big inspiration man....I'm an artist and a maker too, just so awesome to see what you create! btw, I would totally buy this knife!!
I am thoroughly impressed. You've shown a great deal of ingenuity in producing such a streamline tool enhancement. Watching your videos makes me deeply regret not spending time with my dad in his shop when I was growing up (too busy playing video games and failing to impress girls than to learn machinist/mechanic/carpentry skills). Please keep the videos coming.
I saw this once when it came out then watched your speech about your life and watched it again and was totally amazed..... Again. Great job! really inspiring your videos are.
Then how about' you become one of the next sir, if your not already? The world is always in need of more, craftsmen that is, exspecially in this day, and age.
Once again an awesome project. One of the best RUclips channels there is......PERIOD. My favorite part of this video is at the very end when you smash both nice and in the worktable. Awesome
The first which blade is cool from a sculpting point of view. This one though? Way more practical. I really like this one. I would patent that shit and sell it to the highest bidder.
Mad Genius!!!!!! I love watching the video and saying to myself, "Were is he going with this?" and then all of a sudden, "OOhhhh.....yup, this guys the shit!" So impressive. Great job man.
dude this is so much better than the first one. like i thought the first one was awsome, but the design and efficiency of this one just makes the other one look flea market status while this one would be locked in a display on a spinning plate. a true evolution sir. I commend you
Among the most inspiring and totally hypnotic channels on the web. You're amazing. Keep it up and thanks for sharing. Great, great stuff, and equally thoughtful and meticulous presentation. Makes me feel that perfect combination of inspired and dispirited (that I'm not doing anything close haha), that feeling which only the coolest stuff produces.
First one looked like a kooky but cool idea, second one is badass but can clearly see the development ideas coming out - really can't wait for the third one Jimmy - you inspire the creativity in me!
Jimmy I love your "No bullshit, just get it done" approach to all of your projects. As always well done :). The machinist in me loves watching your videos.
Man I have been following your work for a long time. Not just anybody can do what you do. Sure anybody can go buy tools, supplies, etc but what you turn this stuff into is pure genius. I have got to find a way for my 10 yr old to meet you sometime. He gets inspired by other people's creations and that is good thing. Keep up the Awesome work!
who the heck takes 2 perfectly good tools and hacks them up to make 1 awesome tool. this guy. the witch blades you made are awesome. I love them. you my friend are a true artist. keep up the work.
I've been watching and enjoying and been inspired to Make by many of Mr Diresta's videos... This one pushed me over to the Subscriber status. Thank you sir.
I definitely like the idea of having the multi-tool being the hilt of the which blade II, but i like the overall look of the which blade III quite a bit. In any case, great, great work! You are quite the craftsman. I envy your ability to work with metal.
AWESOME project! Jimmy if you keep coming up with those types of innovations one of these companies will adopt your idea, put it into mass production and you will instantly become a multi-bajillionaire. (I have no idea how much a bajillion dollars actually is but it's more than I can imagine). Don't stop making videos when that happens....I enjoy them to much. Love your videos.
Way to go Jimmy Ma-Ma-Ma-Gyver! Tre-Magnifique! You come up with the best ideas...That one should be made and sold state-side. The Swiss ain't got nothin on you my friend. Thanx for the video. Please keep 'em coming, Arthur.
I like this idea. The attachment point seems more elegant and there is an actual locking mechanism on the tool in this revision. Can't wait to see what you come up with for the next one. Maybe in spirit of the multi-tool, figure out a way to add more functionality to the bayonet clip, possibly some kind of socket wrench.
Jimmy those are two great videos you 've done with the knives....i've been learning a great amount on tool usage since i found ur videos some 10 months ago.. u are an inspiration man. Thanks
I thought you were on to something with the hand version. Now I totally KNOW YOUR ON TO SOMETHING. something I would consider buying. Love it Jimmy. Keep up the good work.
I'm 15 and wanting to make my own shed in my dads backyard for a workshop and make stuff like this, but maybe more basic, I really love this video and hope you make more awesome stuff like this!
Amazing, the workmanship and creativity on this is definitely reading 10.5 on the awesome scale. I wish i had the skill to create something Like this because when I'm camping i always have a small Bowie on me and a multi tool. it would be great to have them both in one tool. Good job brother. I liked the first one, but I love this one. I only discovered your videos a couple of weeks ago but I have been driving my wife crazy with them. Keep up the good work. Oh, and please ignore the mindless comments from ignorant individuals on here. I don't agree with every single thing you do, but there's no way in hell I'm going to sit here on my butt behind a computer screen and criticize you. You don't post content in the hopes that people will "give you a better idea" about something. Your work makes a statement...it doesn't ask a question.
Why all the hate? I think it's an awesome idea (something I would buy). Sometimes I need a big knife on a job, and combining the multi-tool with it is perfect. I like the original a little better (because it just looked a little cooler), but this one looks a little more practical (with the ability to "lock" the blade on). Great work jimmy!
Nothing like getting to work early and finding a Jimmy DiResta video waiting to be watched. That is seriously badass and an unbelievably elegant solution all rolled into one. Thank you Jimmy!

This guy so far is the only youtuber that I've seen actually responds to peoples comments. I must say he has some great concepts.
Thank you bro!
jimmydiresta 11 minutes for a reply...that gotta be like a guinness world record for fastest reply. LMAO.
+Arturo Atoyan once I replied In 15 seconds! thank you phone notifications!
Moat you tubers have to many people to reply to.

Thank you brother !
I think the overall quality of this one is better, but you have to admit, the hand design on the other one is pretty sweet
Absolutely love this combination of a proper blade and a multi tool. Leathermans tend to have a tiny blade made of soft steel, but this is a great way to eliminate that problem. Keep up the good work!
Once again, totally badass. Also great placement of the "make something" sticker. ;)
Perfect timing for the U.S. Mail ! Opened the mail 30 minutes Pryor ! Xo
I thought the first one was cool. This one, I love!
I love how you melded these two objects together. One of my favorites out of your many creative projects. Not because I am a knife guy, but because of the thought process you displayed in making it. That locking mechanism has a very satisfying snap to it! I wasn't sure the build would work out until I heard that snap. Good job.
Jimmy-

Amazing art and craftmanship! I already loved the first version of this knife and I love and appreciate that you took it even one more step forward and created this stunning knife.
version 2.0 is 10x better - that's hard math for me
Way to go, Jimmy! I absolutely love your creativity, not just in coming up with new ideas, but also your creative techniques. Thank you so much for sharing your work with everyone.
Someone needs to do a Kickstarter for these, I love the idea of having both options at my fingertips.
I dig it
at first i had my doubts about this build, but it came together nicely. its good to see someone building stuff, its becoming a lost art in this country, doing things with your hands.
OH SHIT!!!! That's cool as hell! The SOG Leatherman! LOL
*****
LMFAO! My bad bro!
I'm emailing the Woodcraft product managers to let them know that the Which blade is By FAR the coolest implementation of a Woodriver blade blank to date. The version 2.0 is rather splendid too. You, sir, are the epitome of "maker".

I like the second one better in my opinion. Looks more practical
You are by far the most creative individual I've ever seen or met. Love your videos and creations.
Make more blades for it. Like having a saw blade would be sweet.
I saw this once when it came out then watched your speech about your life and watched it again and was totally amazed..... Again. Great job! really inspiring your videos are.
damn i love how clicky it is
+Paan Jr exactly! :D
Reminds me of cleaning my pistol 😀
Thanks Jimmy I enjoy watching you create cool stuff. you are without a doubt a true maker and craftsman please don't stop making videos
WHY ARE YOU SO BADASS?
One of the last of the few true Craftsmen in the world. Very impressive.
Then how about' you become one of the next sir, if your not already? The world is always in need of more, craftsmen that is, exspecially in this day, and age.
It just so happens that I am a craftsman. 25 year carpenter. I appreciate skill when I see it.
And yes, you're right
You, sir, are a fucking god
I am glad you think so. Thank you for your support!
TorkMadra Say it again!
Gerald West A GOD!!!
TorkMadra lol, that's right! Beautiful work and very interesting to watch, no doubt.
Once again an awesome project. One of the best RUclips channels there is......PERIOD. My favorite part of this video is at the very end when you smash both nice and in the worktable. Awesome
That SOG had an unscrew-able pommel? Right ending time!
Jimmy has improved it though, now you can throw the whole leatherman tool.
Wow, just outstanding. Ingenious connection concept. Secure, but easily operated. Very nice indeed, Jimmy
The first which blade is cool from a sculpting point of view. This one though? Way more practical. I really like this one. I would patent that shit and sell it to the highest bidder.
Great prototype and video Jimmy. You inspire aspiring machinists, woodworkers, and creators like myself. Kudos
What is the name (brand) of the multitool that was used ?
Leatherman surge
Leatherman MUT, I believe.
Thank You
Jurgis Tamošiūnas First one Leatherman Surge, second one leatherman MUT.
T.Y.
This man is so clever with his ideas and the things he makes, they are all so impressive to see him create these things
Keep up the good work!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Mad Genius!!!!!! I love watching the video and saying to myself, "Were is he going with this?" and then all of a sudden, "OOhhhh.....yup, this guys the shit!" So impressive. Great job man.

agreed.. didnt have proper machine screws on hand Thank you
No problem, make more videos!! can't wait for more tips videos too!
dude this is so much better than the first one. like i thought the first one was awsome, but the design and efficiency of this one just makes the other one look flea market status while this one would be locked in a display on a spinning plate. a true evolution sir. I commend you
well that was a turn off, the big CHINA stamped on the SOG knife.
+FoodOnCrack Yeah it's like "We need to show people the true quality.. let's just go for it, the ultimate steel, steel made in one and only, CHINA!"
+Mad Vlad not that the quality of steel depends on the country, its the way the factory does it but still.. bad experiences with china
FoodOnCrack
I've handled a lot of chinese crap in my life and let me tell you someting, bad touch hurts forever ;)
+Mad Vlad thats what she said huehuehuehuehuehue
I'm glad he used a SOG blade, would you rather he cut up a nice Buck knife?
Among the most inspiring and totally hypnotic channels on the web. You're amazing. Keep it up and thanks for sharing. Great, great stuff, and equally thoughtful and meticulous presentation. Yea cracked me up lol
I always watch your videos, thinking "that's not right" but picking up my jaw at the finish. Another amazing project bro!
Talented... i can't get enough of your creativeness.... I WANT MORE!
This is actually the video that brought me to your channel. I've watched almost all of them since.
That was a fantastic build. Best knife I ever seen. Damn, you have big talent!!!! Thank You, Vinny
By far THE coolest thing I have seen for a very long time.
These are super cool. I like the creativity of the first one, and the second is more realistic and practical.
Even as a bit of a knife nerd I really love this, it's a great idea and I can definitely see the practicality behind it.
I wish I had 1/2 of your talent. (And all of your tools.) I wouldn't leave the shop for weeks. Excellent work on both blades.
First one looked like a kooky but cool idea, second one is badass but can clearly see the development ideas coming out - really can't wait for the third one Jimmy - you inspire the creativity in me!
Saying this guy is talented is an understatement.
Keep up the Awesome work!
i just sit and watch you do this stuff, it does my head in Jim. It impresses me every time.
who the heck takes 2 perfectly good tools and hacks them up to make 1 awesome tool. this guy. the witch blades you made are awesome. I love them. you my friend are a true artist. keep up the work.
I like that you think outside the box, and are willing to destroy something in order to try an idea. This is truly the concept of "make" good job
That's ridiculously cool. I didn't know what you we're going for at first but im so glad I stuck with it
One word...WANT! Seriously, I would buy this in a heartbeat.
Outstanding craftsmanship. Great job Jimmy as always. Love your videos.
I've been watching and enjoying and been inspired to Make by many of Mr Diresta's videos... This one pushed me over to the Subscriber status. Thank you sir.
Jimmy your stuff blows me away every time. Absolutely amazing.
The fact that in both designs he doesn't violate the leatherman in anyway shows his brilliance
I'm absolutely in love with this knife. Great job
I definitely like the idea of having the multi-tool being the hilt of the which blade II, but i like the overall look of the which blade III quite a bit. In any case, great, great work! You are quite the craftsman. I envy your ability to work with metal.
Really love this design, last one was cool but this is something I could see people buying.
Love your videos.
this man is like making a rugs into something incredible things, such a wonderful works of your hands man, i salute your unbelievable ideas :)
Definitely right up there with some of the most creative and well executed ideas to come down the pike in some time! Great job!
This is the most amazing thing I've seen in a long while. You should patent something like this, it's that clever. Good work.
You must be the type of person that never sleeps:-) Your level of creativity is amazing!
No words! Beauty! Born talent and a blessed man!
Way to go Jimmy Ma-Ma-Ma-Gyver! Tre-Magnifique! You come up with the best ideas...That one should be made and sold state-side. The Swiss ain't got nothin on you my friend. Thanx for the video. Please keep 'em coming, Arthur.
Very nice! I love the locking mechanism, very industrial looking. Excellent job!
Thanks
That was totally cool! Excellent idea! I hope it's a huge money maker.
I thought you were on to something with the hand version. Now I totally KNOW YOUR ON TO SOMETHING. something I would consider buying. Love it Jimmy. Keep up the good work.
You and your modern steampunk style......fantastic!
Very nice work, Jimmy! I think this solution is much better than the previous one, feels more safe.
I like this new version. Looks more compact and practical.
All the friction fit and the clicks are sooooo satisfying
this is the coolest knife ive seen in a long time. Well played, sir.
I've learned almost as much from you as I have my father, great stuff, don't stop.
I don't think you wasted that sog at all. Fantastic modification.
How have I never seen this channel before...? Truly inspired work man, keep at it!
Great job Jimmy. Nice workmanship. Makes me want to head back to my shop.
People don't understand the premise of your channel, you're here to provide content for us. You make things...and you film the process to provide entertainment for the masses. You don't post content in the hopes that people will "give you a better idea" about something. Your work makes a statement...it doesn't ask a question.
You work is impressive! Feels like a role-playing game blacksmith.
you are the mold they got Mad Max from... superior idea, love it
I just sat there clapping to my computer screen. Pure genius!
when I watched this video I finally ordered my first leatherman. You have sold me on their uses. I cant wait for it to arrive!!! thank you
Why all the hate? I think it's an awesome idea (something I would buy). Sometimes I need a big knife on a job, and combining the multi-tool with it is perfect. I like the original a little better (because it just looked a little cooler), but this one looks a little more practical (with the ability to "lock" the blade on). Great work jimmy!
mate what an absolute piece of artwork man ..defently a skilled craftsman
