You're literally saving my life right now. I'm in a photography class and your videos have been the BEST! You're really good at explaining things. THANK YOU!!!!!!
Thanks for all videos. I own a6000 and I am newbie. You are videos are godsend. Appreciate your work. I am waiting for basic editing tutorial of raw file.
If you are doing this Solo and you don't have a remote you can always use the camera timer (start taking a photo after 10 sec) which will give you enough time to get in front of your lens. The option should be under shooting modes.
If you're doing anything solo where you wish to be in shot (distant selfies or light painting), a REALLY helpful thing to do is go to the camera menu, find "Application List", choose "Smart Remote Embedded" - now with your smartphone, download the app "PlayMemories Mobile" from Sony and connect it to the camera and you can view your camera screen on your mobile phone and remotely take pictures; super useful for long exposures when you don't want to shake the camera physically pressing the button (if you don't have a remote trigger device) or waiting however many seconds; the app lets you take as many pictures whenever you want without going back to the camera every shot - plus, they download to the phone as you shoot in standard quality.
I appreciate all your videos. I recently purchased the a6000 to start my “real” photography. I have been using a Sony point and shoot. The Sony rx1000ii and have loved it for hiking and backpacking. I’m a bit scared to take a bigger setup to some places I go. A few things I want to shoot better are the waterfalls I come across and night time stars with the milky way band across it. Can I shoot these with the kit lenses? I have the 16-50 and 55-200. Also can I get pictures of the full moons I see from mountain tops? I’m a complete beginner and rely on internet tutorials for advice and new purchase suggestions.
Thanks for the tips man, so I have my a6000 but when I move the same button you did in Manual Mode it works on my aperture and not in my shutter velocity, I can't find how to set the timing for my shutter. Do you know how can I fix this?
Hey! thanks for the help man :D this really helped me! :) btw do you know any good budget cameras in 2020? I'm using a sony a5000 21.1 megapixel right now. 21 megapixel is good but I just want to upgrade becuase I need a better film camera to this can only do 1080p and 30fps max :/ thanks! (edit you just made a new subscriber) ;)
Hi Sir, can you help me?someone is offering me to trade cameras I have sony a6000 and his offer is fujifilm xt100, what do you think?both kit lens and both have good mint condition. Thankyou
Hi bro, do you recommend full manual lens for wild photography ? I mean i don't want to buy metabones or other stuff that very costly. If i use normal adapter will it works?
Hey man, That tiled menu's looking a lot better than the tabbed version I have. Is that a firmware update or something you can change in the preferences? Thanks!
I have a question. I have the same camera but I'm having trouble on rolling shots of vehicles. I need the wheels to be moving a lot more. I need help with my settings to slow my shutter speeds
I was wondering if there is a way to do long exposure during day time with the lens I have. I have the Sony A6000 with these two lens; 16-50 mm OSS and the 55-210 OSS
By the way, is there any wide angles you recommend for the Sony a6300 besides the 10-18? The price for the 10-18 is out of my range and I'm not trying to break the bank. Currently in college debt ;-;
Thank for the video!you mentioned that an ND filter could be used. can you do a vid about the application of ND filter and how to get the best pic with it? Thanks!
Basically, to achieve the same amount of light, you have to compensate for the number of stops you are adding/subtracting. Just like the relationship between shutter speed and aperture: e.g. You like the amount of light you are getting in your photos from a 5 sec SS at f8, but you would like to have more time to do your painting -> you increase 1 stop from your SS, so now you have 10 sec, but you need to decrease the f stop to f11. The same can be done with NDs. Instead of closing your aperture 1 stop, get a 1 stop ND, or a 2 stop, etc. If you are looking for great pictures, try NOT closing your aperture and just use NDs for a shallow depth of field (maybe even a longer lens), then you start painting towards the camera so that parts of your light trail are not in focus, meaning they will gradually go from in focus to a nice bokeh. Example setup: 10 sec SS, f2, and now you somehow need to get it to f16, so f2-f16=6 stops. Get a 6 stop ND, but before you screw it on setup your camera and manual focus on your camera bag or something that you leave where the painting will happen and leave the focus there. Good luck!
first picture, he walked INTO the frame and he was in motion...plus there's no light on him. second picture it's still too dark and no light on him either, but you can still see him if you look closer..whatever his cellphone-light was able to capture from him.
My Sony a-6500 apparently can not do bracketing for HDR, I set drive mode properly, I set the bracketing order, and I have only 3 dark shots, What am I doing wrong??? help!! thank you

Yess! Thank you!

Hi bro, do you recommend full manual lens for wild photography ? I mean i don't want to buy metabones or other stuff that very costly. If i use normal adapter will it works?
I think sigma MC-11 adapter is not that expensive compared to metabone...and it works with most of sigma lens...
Hey man,
That tiled menu's looking a lot better than the tabbed version I have. Is that a firmware update or something you can change in the preferences? Thanks!
Go to the menu item 6 page 2, turn on "Tile Menu"
Awesome!

Allan Luyon yes you would need to buy a ND filter that fits your lens
nice video. but you don't need a remote shutter, just download the sony app and then you can use your phone as a remote to take the picture :)
whats the name of the app
How do you do light paint around a subject like a person in the center of the light paint?

I will try today, i was trying to do the light painting before but, well i saw know why was wrong in the way i did it.
Why there is no "ghosting" of the person moving the light? Maybe is a dumb question but i want to know.
Zoddex yeah how tf is there no sign of a person in there whatsoever
first picture, he walked INTO the frame and he was in motion...plus there's no light on him.

great content :)
