    What a gem. I can't even imagine why someone made 200 of these because whatever they cost it's not enough. It must have been absolutely grueling work! Lots of amazing design and engineering in this puzzle

    3D printing is great for a lot of things, but the springs are a trap for creators. Fresh PLA or PETG will work great as a spring for a while, but it gets brittle very quickly and will fail as seen here. Also, when 3D printing, it's very important to be mindful of the direction of the layer lines, much like wood grain, if they are going the wrong way, the part will be very fragile. I think this puzzle is fantastic, I just think that a few of the parts need to be made via a different method. I hope the creator works on improving his design and keeps making puzzles.

    This one is hard because there's so many distractions, so many cool designs all over making you spend time marveling it instead 😂
    Although the plastic parts breaking really could get some improvement, other than that I really love the design,both mechanism and aesthetic.

      Needs to use a different material for the springs! Clearly Too brittle. Maybe PETG instead of PLA?

    When you broke that piece about 20 minutes in, I had kept thinking that something was going to break, b/c every time you manipulated the puzzle, it sounded like it was about to fall apart. I'd really like to see the final product, b/c this was a really interesting puzzle, and it clearly took a brilliant mind to piece together.

    Nice puzzle. I always enjoy your videos. The one thing I'd add is that you were going so quickly, I know probably due to your excitement, as I was as well, but it was too hard to follow what you were doing, at each step. On a different note, I always challenge myself to think what your difficulty rating would be, and I literally was thinking identically to you between 3 and 4! It was so great to hear we were on the same thinking!!

    Question Mr P.
    Did the puzzle feel as fragile as it looked?

    • @Mr.Puzzle
      @Mr.Puzzle  Год назад +6

      No, actually not. Luke told me the spring issue is due to a faulty roll of filament. So it is fixed now.

    I checked the 3d models for this and it's weird to me that the "springs" broke that easily.
    The person making these needs to use a more flexible material in the future.

    • @Mr.Puzzle
      @Mr.Puzzle  Год назад +5

      It is due to a faulty brittle filament. The issue is already fixed but mine was one of the boxes produced with that filament.

    Interesting print, though PLA is a horrible choice for the mechanical parts. Stuffs to brittle to make spring mechanisms.

  • @Writhe_n_Shine
    @Writhe_n_Shine Год назад +3

    This was a lot of fun, but i feel that there must have been a missed step with the key. Due to the complexity of the design and fragility of parts, there is really no way to tell, and that is frustrating. Overall, it's an awesome puzzle, though I feel it probably needed one or two more iterations for it to be perfected.

    • @Mr.Puzzle
      @Mr.Puzzle  Год назад +5

      The way I used was wrong. There is a more clever way to do it. Usually the access from the top is not possible but the spring in there broke. The reason for the brittle parts was a faulty roll of filament. The issue is already known and fixed.

    the puzzle itself is great, the idea and design worked for a prototype, just need to remake those broken spring parts out of metal.
    I found the literature included with it to be a bit obnoxious, and I could go on a rant about people who 3d print stuff and think they're in the same skill league as people who actually craft stuff out of real materials, but I won't. I'd maybe just suggest scaling down and adjusting the tone of the copy a bit.

      Agreed. I checked out long before it was "solved". The roughness of sliding parts and bits of parts dropping out detracted greatly from the enjoyment. I let the video play, as a courtesy to Mr. Puzzle and the algorithm, but to me: 0/5, junk
