I wonder why music like this seems to always be associated mentally with insects: high fast notes, flutes and clarinets, xylophones..
I guess because it gives the impression of something that's small, buzzing, skittering.
small things make small, short, high sounds. Combine that with the fluttering sound in the flutes and the speed of the strings, it implies many small things in tandem. add that with the dangerous, discordant low notes and you get many bad bugs!

The frantic movement, the sound of bugs skittering all around you and crawling all over your body? These instruments usually nail that feeling

Ah yes, these guys. They are THE reason I plan to breed flail snails to produce material for crafting some good quality gauntlets. I am swift, agile, and have natural armor higher then is normal for my age due to having a bit of tank class in me, and a powerful breath weapon. And I LOVE hunting prey that can fight back.
But those spikes, need some good armor to parry that as well.
