    Taking Jr Hanawa line, getting off Towadaminami station, then a bus to the lake.
    On the way back, walking along Oirase Stream , then took Towada kanko railway which is abondoned.

    Found your channel via Sharla. Love the nature take on Japan! Wondering if you will feature any kayaking or canyoning? Seeing this creek got me thinking about my dream of travelling to Japan to include those activities. Of course will be perfectly delighted to follow you as you hike and forage your way through the countryside!

    • @GoNorthJapan

      Thank you! I am rather really interested in trying out canyoning! (I used to paddle and portage a bit when I was living in the States, but that was a long time ago.. I'd love to try again.) Hopefully this coming summer! There are some great "waterfall climbing" and canyoning locations and some groups that do it. I'll see about joining them!

    And wishing a life long and prosper to the moss ball tree! Is it meant to be planted outside at some point?

    • @GoNorthJapan
      @GoNorthJapan  4 года назад +1

      They are meant to remain in the moss balls, which means they are like bonsai and remain small. Of course you could free it and plant it somewhere if you wanted.

      @@GoNorthJapan Oooh like bonsai, well that makes sense! A tree in the garden is special, but bonsai.. so many times my bonsai moved with me, since I was 10. ^^ Good luck and good health to your tree!

      Yes- my moss ball still lives as of this moment!
      In terms of when to visit northern Japan.... depends on what you want to see and do. I could come up with arguments for any season, really. Just not in between times like right now... when the leaves have mostly fallen but it hasn't started snowing yet.

    do you already have video on when the mosquitoes are the most bothersome or how to avoid them or which bug repellent to use?

    • @GoNorthJapan
      @GoNorthJapan  5 лет назад +1

      To be honest mosquitoes aren't really that bad up here in northern Japan most of the time, especially when you're moving. I don't even own mosquito repellent. Just once, in the Aomori Shirakami Sanchi National Park they were really bad and I ended up cutting my visit short and just running away, literally.
      But I would say the same common sense I grew up with in Wisconsin applies here. Cover up, wear repellent (DEET stuff if you're worried) otherwise something natural perhaps.
