I was just watching RoKKiT KiT, prior to this and he would have swooned at that bit of water you found on the road while doing his survival vid. The noodle rod performed beautifully, lovely tailor. A bit of a bugger you didn't keep one of the smaller ones for later. The Troopie is looking great, can't wait to see it fitted out properly. Gars are sweet chewing if the cook knows what they're doing, but oysters I'd eat all day and have often. The West coast looks epic, but I truly miss the fishing of the Far North East coast. Man, that is paradise. I'm South African and a fisherman . In my country we get Tailor (called Shad in Natal Province and Elf in Cape Province (Bluefish in USA). Never seen them that size as the first 2 ones. Once upon we had oysters in quantities like this, 50 or so years past, but alas, no more. The remoteness in all it's beauty blows my mind, what a beautiful existance, green with envy.
Carried a noodle rod the whole way around oz when I was backpacking around the country. Landed everything from spangled emperor's to flathead and sting rays. Best fishing I ever had.
