there's just something so pretty about music produced electronically being played with analog instruments
Agreed
“analog instruments”
😄
@@g2p2k i mean, the drums don't look very digital to me
@@mexikanecfilda i know but it’s just kinda funny because you’d usually say acoustic
"POV: You're forced into the body of an overwhelmingly talented drumming mid-concert and have to finish the show where he left off"
"Overwhelmingly-talented" is definitely an overstatement, but thank you anyway and I'll take it!
That said I feel silly for not trying this earlier since I've had a GoPro for years now
the anxiety
I’d just have to hope that the audience is so absorbed in what happened prior that they won’t notice the monstrosity of notes I’ll create lmfao.
@@depressedteadepressoespres186 do the drummy to the music and you should be good i think

1:50 THAT BREAKDOWN AHHHHHHHHHH
EVEYRHTING ABOUT THIS COVER IS AWESOME BUT 1:50 AHHHHHHHHHH
That was definitely the most fun part to play too!
definitely the highlight
this makes me want to learn how to play the drums
Dooooo it
@@karlfagerstrom looks to hard to achieve your level dude, as far as I like some kind of fast drums (0:41) I belive it may take long time to train self and endure it for long time :_:
Still best video I've saw this month
If you *do* decide to try it, that thing I'm doing there is called the Moeller technique and it takes some practice, but once you figure it out, it becomes *way* easier than it looks to play that fast
@@karlfagerstrom good to know
@@karlfagerstrom thanks for the recommendation
Goddamn I’ve played for almost 20 years, toured, recorded, but I feel like a beginner in comparison. Such a great balance between creativity and skill, it’s humbling and inspiring man. I actually wanted to do a cover of Mr.Kill Myself and this really drives me. Amazing work, truly from the bottom of my heart I mean it.
Wow man, thanks! That means a lot...I definitely would be interested in your take on Mr. Kill Myself. You also a fan of Jojo Mayer?
@@karlfagerstrom oh yeah without a doubt! I totally see his influence in you technique man. I see you're also a Machine Girl fan and Zach Hill as well, that's sick. Highly underrated channel you have. I haven't touched in kit in over a year now (stolen kit from former bandmate, go figure). But seriously watching you play is making we want to hop on again.
@@karlfagerstrom you a fan of Squarepusher?
@@ericfabbro9341 Hell yeah!
Such a wholesome and positive interaction, ya love to see it.
Works a lot better than i originally thought. Youre a good drummer.
0:44 OMFG THIS PART I WASNT EXPECTING TO BE SO DAMN GOODDDDD YOU MADE THIS SONG EVEN MORE EMOTIONAL I WUV IT
I KNOOOWW THATS MY FAVORITE PART
@@slimebot8676 when I first heard that part I imagined a rave concert with the drum set on stage with lights and a big monitor with some Sewerslvt visuals on it and an audience full of people absolutely losing it at the drop. All of these covers are phenomenal
Just trying to do what I can to recreate a rave while locked down from my practice space
love how you've got the snare to sound more like an electronic snare, great stuff as always :)
Props for noticing! Mostly just tuned it fairly high and then killed the ring as best as possible (since I'm only using one mic on the whole kit - and it's pointed at the snare - I also scoop out a fair amount of the midrange and it tends to make the snare more electronic-ish)
@@karlfagerstrom pretty impressive sound for a one mic setup dude
Would kill for more Sewerslvt covers, you’re a legend!
Thank you! 🙌Kinda bummed I accidentally deleted my best take of "Mr. Kill Myself" (imo - although there's a slightly worse take up still), but I'm gonna make some more asap! It's kinda hard though just cuz they're all a similar bpm and I run out of licks to play haha
this is literally so fucking epic, i have seen this now for a about fifty times and honestly it just captures the songs feel visually and auditory perfectly!
Def need new colored lightbulbs since I shattered that greenboi, so I haven't been able to recreate the dusty warehouse rave vibe since...but thank you!
WOAH HOLY SHIT DUDE THIS WAS SICK!!!!!!! thank you for doing my request, i appreciate the work you have put into man,,,,, keep it up!!!!! it was a great honour
No problem, it was super fun to play!
first time ive seen someone with a venetian snares cover pfp omg
1:27 IS SO BEAUTIFUL OMFG I LOVE IT
Thank you!
i love how you play rolls across the snare/toms
I hope I don't do it too much hahah (or at least I hope there's enough variety there)
@@karlfagerstrom nah its perfect, very distinctive to your playing
This is absolutely stellar but the whole time I was worried you were gonna accidentally whack your macbook with your sticks lmao
That MacBook has been through far worse than being hit by the occasional stray drumstick

It *almost* did, I'll count it
i’m a guitarist and i feel like a fucking god jamming out to metal, but this, if i played the drums to this i’d probably die
It's mostly wrists and fingers - trust me I'm *extra* out of shape post-COVID lockdown so you can deff play this if you wanna!
yo dude, with your drums song is way more cool
i wish if this was original version!
All DnB could use a little live drums imo, so thank you!
Like DAMN this dude is sick
oh this goes HARD
This SONG goes hard
im not dying if i dont die while this is playing.
As a 15-year-old drummer, one of my biggest goals is to be able to do sewerslvt and nfract covers like you.
also love the content your channel is really underrated
You can do it! It's easier than it looks... and thank you 🙏
Breakcore is an insane genre of music
but it's much more insane when someone actually drum covers it so cleanly
and I'm not even talking about the GoPro camera.
This is the type of stuff I listen on replay.
also, you know it's gonna be fire with an intro like that
not me being addicted to this video🧍♂️
I can't see your emoji because I'm an Android peasant but thanks! 🙏
This cover honestly speaks to me and I love it so much. I listen to it all the time just because of how much emotion it creates.
I'm glad to have had an impact 🙏
I mean this in a friendly way but this is so fucking attractive
This type of music makes me wanna run forever
Same.
This entire cover is insane, but special shoutout to the first minute or so, especially 0:44 - 1:06

The beginning drum intro was amazing.
Thank you. I had fun with it 🙏
as a drummer, somehow, with the fact that i love and empathize so much with sewer's work, this gives me chills and almost makes me tear up, idk if its the video, the place, the lights or the atmosphere, but i really love what you did here, thanks man
been over a year and i still listen to this masterpiece 🙏🏼🙏🏼
If this video gets to 100k views then I'll almost be a real RUclipsr haha
for real though, thank you for still being here ❤️

🙏there's a couple different takes of Mr. Kill Myself up too if you're interested... they don't have nearly as many views I promise they're solid (I prefer the "last take" one)
Karl Fagerstrom thank you sm im definitely gonna watch them you’re amazing
oh my god i love you
❤️
Still one of the best covers I’ve ever heard! I love coming back to listen to this
Thank you. It means a lot to somehow have made drumming content that actually has a long lifespan of (some) relevance
Three years later and this is still a huge inspiration to me, I started playing percussion last year, and I was pretty good at it. Then I learned the drum set and I was really good at that too. The level of practice you have is amazing! I’d love to drum like you!
Glad to hear it. Drum set is *so* good for your body and soul, so I hope you keep at it! Regardless of how "good" you get; which is subjective, anyway - if you make some sonic art that *someone* connects with, and you feel good afterward physically, that's just an endless positive feedback loop.
i watch this video 100 times a day you play drums good asf
Thank you 🙏
@@karlfagerstrom talent is short these days so its refreshing to see someone this good thank you
this makes me feel a new emotion
It's like a beautiful but melancholic comedown.

AMAZING
Thank you!
me personally- this is my all time favourite drum cover of this song. i was JAW DROPPED in the begin with the rapid stick tapping. 💥💥
Such a tasteful cover, the rimshots at the beginning, the fills halfway through the song. This is so so good.
I come to see this video on the daily because of how awesome it sounds like it's 1 am but instead of sleeping I'm listening to this masterpiece
Glad to be a part of your insomnia jams ritual, I've got more than a few late night go-to's of my own

I'm just glad to make something people come back to. So thank you 🙏 (of course Sewerslvt had a lot to do with making this, too)
@@karlfagerstrom I swear, this never gets old, nor does any of your other videos ^^

Thank you 🙏 don't be fooled by the potato video/audio quality, some of us with lofi equipment can still play
Love how your arms flail and bend like they're boneless, that for some reason fits the emotion of the song
Thank you 🙏 I am a pot-bellied Gumby
@@karlfagerstrom Failed to mention how impressive your drumming is, but at this point there's hundreds of people who've already pointed it out. I myself am a beginner drummer and this just feels completely unreachable, but I hope to one day be as good of a drummer as you are, as cheesy as it sounds. If you don't mind me asking, how long have you been playing drums?
I don't mind, but I don't like to needlessly discourage people. I've said this in a bunch of comments before, but in a more longwinded way, so I'll summarize as to not write an essay: I started as a little kid, but some of my favorite drummers started a lot later (like one of my obvious faves, Zach Hill). And I started piano as an even *tinier* kid, but I'm meh at that at best, because I didn't keep at it whatsoever. So I wouldn't read too much into *when* someone starts as much as how hard they go at it.
@@karlfagerstrom No worries, I was mostly just curious, thanks for the response
