    I once went to Purple Island by car for an hour and a half from my grandmother's house ‎◡̈ It's amazing that you've been there, too, hahaha . The color that symbolizes the place is purple, so I remember walking around with a purple scarf around my neck 💜 The scenery was really beautiful and it was perfect for me, who likes to walk !!!

    Nice video... Thanks a lot for sharing. Do you think that end of December is a good period or I will have difficulties due to weather?

      Hey, thanks a lot for watching! I don't think you should go in December. While the purple Bridge and other artificial structures will be there, one of the main attractions of the island is the green landscape combined with the purple colors. You had better go in spring, early and late summer, and maybe even fall:)

      Hey, thanks for watching and my pleasure! Travel time is about 1hr 30 mins (approximately). If you show a photo of Purple Island to the bus driver, he will tell you when to get off so you can take a 7-10 minute taxi ride to the island:) Hope this helps!

    I'm trying to find a bus route and unfortunately neither Naver nor Kakao maps show directions there. What stop do I have to get off at when coming from Mokpo?

    • @francoismarc3
      @francoismarc3  Месяц назад

      Hey there. If you are coming from Mokpo, you must take a bus from the Bus Terminal. You can ask the ticket attendant for Purple Island or if the attendant speaks no English, ask for Bora Dari in Shinan (보라 다리 시난). Once you have the ticket, the attendant will tell you which bus to take at the station. Please take a photo of the bus time tables, as buses to and from the island are 1hr-1hr 30 mins apart. Once you get on the bus to the island, you will notice after about 40 minutes of riding that many buildings are now purple. The driver will let you off at a stop in a small town. From there, you will take a taxi for about 5-7 minutes to the island! Hope this helped!

      Most definitely! But! I suggest you get a T-money card, put money on that card, and use the T-money card to pay. That way, you don't need to worry about cash for the return trip! It'll all be on your card!!:)

    I am Korean. You went to a very dangerous place Don't ever go again It's a place where foreigners are kidnapped and enslaved Tell your The police and residents there are on the same side. I'll never help you. family, friends and acquaintances Please don't go Remember what I'm saying

      Oh wow!!! I've heard this before but I wasn't sure if it was true!! Are foreigners really kidnapped there?! When I went, there were many foreigners going there and everything looked safe. Does it mean Purple Island is still dangerous in 2024?

    • @sangmoon2yo
      @sangmoon2yo 4 месяца назад

      @@francoismarc3 As of 2024, we've never seen a foreign disappearance kidnapping on the news However, from the past to the present, many Koreans, including the disabled, orphans, and homeless people, are caught as island slaves, forced to work unfairly, and many Korean news reports such as violent pay issues And Koreans don't go there either.

    • @user-aka27rt1v0t
      @user-aka27rt1v0t 3 месяца назад

      @@francoismarc3The region is very notorious. Although I have no knowledge of foreign kidnapping, rumors have it that many disabled people are kidnapped and used as salt slaves. And the region has a very small number of residents. The society is closed. There was also a rape case here eight years ago. Someone said that such crimes could happen anywhere. Yes, that's right. HOWEVER, there are NEVER many such areas in Korea. (South Korea is one of the most secure countries in the world.) And a male teacher was also missing at the time of the incident. In 2014, the death toll from no connection was 10 in the small town.
      There is a rumor that the police there also cover up the crimes of the residents. Of course, I don't know if it is also true in 2024. But don't overlook the fact that those rumors are still circulating in Koreans.
      Do not gamble. And remember: 'Only those who survive can speak.'
