I remembered ios 12 being the last version where 3D Touch actually work like how 3D touch should be, form ios 13-later they mixed it out with “haptic” touch and literally cut down 3D Touch features on supported models!
1:30 Apple does have their reasons for not doing this. iOS will automatically put unused apps to sleep, and those sleeping apps will use very little power. Opening an app from scratch however takes a comparatively large amount of power. So, in most scenarios, it's actually better to let an app stay asleep, since it sleeping is less power than it being freshly opened. That's why they won't let you close all apps, because in their mind, you shouldn't really need to close apps. However, compared to all sorts of other power sucking features like GPS, 5G, and Bluetooth, opening and closing apps won't be the biggest battery drain on your iPhone.
I feel like if this is the case, they could do a funny lil thing and just make you think the app was closed but actually keep it in ram sleeping until the ram is needed. Basically give the user the satisfaction of closing their apps but not actually doing so. Idk, might be a terrible idea. Maybe add a long press to force close in case you DO actually need the app to restart.
What I really miss is the coverflow.. When you swipe through the albums, it physically feels like you’re scrolling through your library of the albums you’ve purchased from iTunes/Converted songs. I have an iPod Touch 3rd Generation and an iPhone 13 Mini but the music app in iPhone 13 Mini feels bland. Yes it has some useful features, but the coverflow made it cooler because it really feels like you can touch your music.
Another feature that apple removed which I miss a lot is the Game Center app. Up until iOS 9, Game Center used to be a standalone application and it was really easy to send friend requests to other Game Center users. On iOS 10, Apple removed the Game Center app and instead, integrated Game Center to the settings app which also made sending friend requests much harder.
I think i watched it somewhere that the reason why Apple does not add close all / clear all apps just like Androids is because the apps are well optimized, therefore clearing all makes no sense.
I don’t know if this also counts but you forgot to include iOS 8 which was the only software to have a recents contacts section when you double click to multitask and by clicking on a contact, you could either call or FaceTime a person pretty quick.
Another feature that Apple removed after iOS 9 is the ability to jailbreak without needing to rejailbreak your iPhone after each reboot. It would save a lot of time and headache trying to rejailbreak your phone after each restart.
Until iOS 9, Siri used to make chimes when woken up, when it starts processing a prompt, and when I cancel a prompt. I have a 14 plus that doesn’t get the AI features, but for those that have the latest ones with AI, does Siri make chimes for those scenarios?
It's interesting to see how apple figured out those small inconveniences that you would never really think of and made slight tweaks which make such a difference!
Well if you had an iPhone 6, 6s, 7, or 8 model, it basically worked the same way it does now. Only the iPhone X had the different method of closing apps in iOS 11.
Idk about you but the volume in the middle on the screen was insanely annoying to me, I don't miss that. That application switcher is weird, it is literally a transition of the ancient app switcher with the current WebOS cards. I still use 3D touch on my X as the X is stull my most modern iPhone, Lol, apps still support it since it is the touch and hold on new iPhones, still works the old way on the X. You can just hold your finger there but pressing down brings that context menu instantly. Also the flashlight on the X still appears to require pressure. You know what I miss most? The old music application, I like the one in iOS 6 way more than the current one. Coverflow alone is worth it, rn if you listen to music landscape the music app doesn't do anything. Although I feel like it is because I am probably one of the very few who have never used a music streaming service at all. I still curate my own MP3s offline and have them reside on the phone itself. I know I'm in the minority there, Heh.

@ Oh, I initially thought you were rhetorically critiquing the decisions Apple has been making in recent years in favor of aesthetic progression at the expense of identity preservation with a tongue-in-cheek twist. 😵💫
In a very early iOS 7 beta u could see a panoramic wallpaper and it would pan through the whole image as you moved ur phone, it was really cool

The old volume UI is fairly nostalgic to me tbh, my first phone was a 5c
what's your phone now
my first was an iphone 6
@@etherealdread Galaxy S24 Ultra, I've been on android for a couple years now tho
3D touch ❤
I remember 3D touching on the backspace button and it deleted faster than just touching it. Still missing that to this day :(
The only thing I miss that Apple removed is Skeuomorphism. I remember when they announced the new UI back in 2013. I was devastated.
They basically killed it for all phones (even android ones)
@@Granny_Gaming I know. Everybody followed that idea. I still don't like it.
yeah same

I miss the old control center
Old control center honestly was much less annoying to deal with

I agree. That was such a nice UI element, love my older devices for that.
I definitely miss 3D Touch. Gimmicky feature but was really good!
iOS 18 brought back the 2-3 page control center but in a different form though (Vertical vs Horizontal with iOS 10).

Great content sir thank you 😊.
I really miss 3D Touch and every gesture it went with it. They could bring it back and it would be GREAT!!!

fantastic! the old IOS versions and the iPhones are still very nice 👏

The old volume UI was removed for all iPhones and iPads on iOS 13, but remains in macOS
I completely forgot about how it was to close the apps back then.

@ yea. I’m taking about the method for the iPhone X with iOS 11
They removed (or didn't include) the split keyboard on 11"+ iPads 😭😭😭😭😭😭

they also removed the robber man and seahorse emoji
i had kept my iphone 13 pro max on ios 15 to keep it away from all the weird distracting features the iphone 14/15/16 have 😪
And the 3DTouch on older iPhones that support it does not have peek-and -pop
@@TopMuslimGMP You have to jailbreak to bring it back on supported phones
the volume was ios 13 iirc
1:10 This would have been such a pain coming from a android
i really love iOS 10
They removed the fixed volume buttons on the new ipads🔥🔥🔥. Completely wrecked my muscle memory
That’s a setting you can change in the volume settings
you shouldn’t close apps in iOS, closing and reopening apps uses more battery than leaving them on standby
Haptic Touch is too slow. Force Touch was wayyyy better
Slide to unlock 😢😢😢😢 IOS 9
Hopefully they Remove the completely useless Camera Button
You mean the one from the Lock Screen? You can do that on iOS 18
Why are you asking for taking features away? Just make it have more functionality
Yes that button is a proper shitttt
You can edit what is on those button on the lock screen lmao
