⬇️PLEASE COMMENT any other advice/tips you have for incoming students!! & for my first years ─ what are you most excited or scared about?? ⬇️ p.s. UBC 4th year experience video is coming soooon!⏳
I resonate so much that point about regrets. The pandemic ruined my first year (but also I had depression so lmao) and I regretted not doing SO MUCH. Now that I’m returning to redo my second year, I’m looking forward to January because there’s so much I want to do (some of which you’ve inspired me to do!!) but I’d like to take it slower and at my own pace, like you suggested :D
@@Nebulousart everyone has their own pace and it’s so important to stay focused on that - as long as you know what you’re doing, that’s all that matters! Take care and I wish you all the best when you continue in January🥰
I've been watching your videos ever since senior year started & it feels weird now to think that i'm now a first year student at UBC starting this fall, it would be cool to randomly bump into you on campus & get to say hi! good luck wt the next semester! : )
No way🥺 wow I’m so proud of you & congratulations for getting in! Welcome to UBC and I hope to see you around on campus!☺️ best of luck this year and have a great first week!
It's currently application season for me (the personal profiles going to be the end of me) so I'm binge-watching your videos as motivation. I'm SO THANKFUL for these. Thanks :)
Thank you so much for this beautiful informative video Yvonne! You're the first person who inspired me to choose UBC as my school as I am planning to apply to UBC this fall. I hope I'll get in and Thank you in person one day for your guidance and support! I love you from Somalia. see you
Hii Mohamed, thank you for sharing this with me and leaving such a kind comment! I wish you all the best with applying and I hope to see you around someday!☺️ I believe in you!!
Hi Yvonne, such a big fan 😉. Although I’m a 4th year transfer, due to COVID, I haven’t been able to experience what university life is all about as well as what the Campus has to offer. Quick question for you, what can I expect at Imagine Day next week? Also a tip that I have is to keep in mind your goals constantly. Especially when it comes to GPA and post grad studies. If you’re planning on taking a masters/doctorate, plan accordingly based on the different school requirements as all programs get increasingly competitive each year. Consider all your possibilities and stick to a plan that you create for course selection etc. GPA plays a huge role in these programs so strategically picking your profs and courses can significantly increase your chances of getting in during your intake. I know Yvonne had a diff opinion on GPA boosters but there will def be a time where you might need an easy A.
Love love love this - thank you for sharing this!🙏🏼 This is all so valid & a great perspective for people (including myself haha). To answer your question about imagine day, I’m not too sure myself but definitely a lot of people and hopefully lots of clubs to check out☺️ also gonna text you because I wanna see you!!! miss you
me sitting here, watching this video, with no guarantee i'll even be able to attend ubc (i dont live in canada, so theres some extra steps that make things a bit more difficult for me)
Thank u soooo much for posting the fb page handles for second hand books and other stuff it's gonna come handy 😋🤗✨ and i have a few questions about these exchange programs (as far as ik there's no such thing in my country 🐼) 1) r these funded by the university? 2) traveling expense+accommodation is on us right? 3) so is it like u will complete one sem Or whatever duration in another country's uni instead of ubc and then u come back
