Players like Ringler showed that DK is actually a good character. DK can possibly be the best Mid-Tier character in Melee
I had a friend back in college who was INSANE with PM DK! I swear it was impossible to get out of his combos once he landed a grab. DK in Melee def has some potential.

I was a solo DK main all the way back in the 2000s and always believed that DK was upper mid tier way before people started figuring that out nowadays. I love seeing my favorite character rise so fast 💯💪🏿🦍
Donkey Kong is probably the most underrated character in Melee IMO. Sure, he's a huge target and his lack of projectiles makes him hard to get used to, but once you master DK he can deliver some serious damage to other players!
I honestly say that DK is still good in 64 because he has won some tournaments

Donkey Kong is someone I've always thought is underrated in Melee, I'm glad others are realizing that now. Even more than him though, I really think Link is underrated. I won't be the one to push him though, despite loving Melee, L-cancelling made me quit. I plan on making things, programming, and overall working with my hands to support myself. It isn't worth the risk of injury

The price is part of it but the main thing right now, is that I don't want to be caught up in the middle of a controversy. Especially recently because of Zain speaking out against it, there's debate on if it should be allowed.
Aside from not wanting to draw negative attention, I don't want to spend so long learning it only for it to be banned or nerfed to the point I need to relearn it. Once the debate dies down, if it's still legal, I might pick it up

But yeah I can see why we can only hope that they'll develop more shit to make smash less controller oriented 1.03 look to be a good step though.

I'm glad I've somewhat kept up with melee and its meta despite not really playing the game anymore, the developments in the competitive scene over the last few years have been really cool to see.

I’d honestly be down to see more videos about how characters were changed for Ultimate. Maybe compare Brawl snake to Ult snake? Analyze how they buffed pac man from smash 4 to ult?
