That was great puzzle setting. The way the numbers flowed on the grid was super. Mark's ability to scan and spot during a live solve is simply beyond belief.
I am watching today's videos all out of order! I watched about 15 minutes of Simon's video before realizing that the stream was on. Then I came back to watch this one, and now I'll go back and finish Simon's. This is a beautiful puzzle and such a lovely solve, Mark. I can't wait for the Interactions Patreon Reward tomorrow, and in the meantime I have been solving puzzles in your Miracle Sudoku app, so the non-consecutive rule was in the forefront of my mind. Thanks so much for this video, for your daily Wordle, and for the streams - this channel has so much rich content!! (And you and Simon are such charming presenters!)
I finished in 61 minutes. The break-in was really fun to spot, using the 46s and 19s along with the negative consecutive rule. Beyond that, I found it very tough to spot all the necessary negative consecutive spots. I was joyed when I spotted that r7c2 couldn't be a 7 due to the geometry. Great Puzzle!
54:16, my time makes the puzzle seem harder than it is. I also "forgot" about that one rule! (I seem to have skipped over it when reading them) and spun my wheels for a bit. Then I made a horrible mistake with the line in Row 1 right away (for some reason I decided that a 7 had to be next to a 1, forgetting that it could also be next to only a 2 if it was at the end of the line) and by that point, it was faster for me to restart the puzzle.
That was one of those puzzles that I knew I should be able to finish but it took two solid attempts to figure out how not to make mistakes and to spot that non-consecutive prohibition. 89:05. That was a good and very enjoyable challenge.
Riffclown did the lion's share of the work on this one. He made it human solvable, and came up with all of the beautiful logic. Interesting to note: if you remove EVERYTHING below the second row, it is still unique - But it won't be human solvable.
how on earth did you manage to create this? it solves ... just barely. there are very few clues available. so, with basically no clues available to shift around, how is this even possible?
@@victorfinberg8595 Collab setting and real time solving by some of the best solvers I know. We had Hoosier's baseline of the top lines and LK and just enough freedom to leave breadcrumbs to a solve path. Keep in mind we only had to guide the path. The puzzle was already unique with 2 lines and one LK.
Thanks both. A number of enjoyable steps in there. Tough going at points but a really interesting solve path. Loved the impact of the 14 little killer to determine the polarity and the way that box 2 came together.
19:10 Unfortunately, I didn't see this until much later, but what happens if R6C3 is 1? The END: Even more unfortunately, there was a whole lot that I missed.
It is really amazing how the non-consecutive constraint can magically "spread" information across the whole grid, starting from box 3, "enriched" by a few whisper lines that are totally absent in boxes 5 and 8.
Spent 21 minutes on my own before I got stuck and had to turn to Mark's solve for help. I was able to figure out the topmost whisper lines and most of box 3, at least. Not like that counts for much. Oh well. Ended up finishing in 37:29.
The "best cell" award in this puzzle has to go to r8c2 🥇 ... in fact, you can determine that it's low _before_ disambiguating the 14↘ although I doubt many people will have done it that way round! Great puzzle 👍🏻👍🏻, it took me nearly half an hour, which I'm OK with but not hugely impressive. I didn't at any point _forget_ the non-consecutive rule, but I perhaps didn't always think to apply it as much as I could!
Not sure exactly where I went wrong, but I ran into a complication that required a bunch of backtracking this time. My total time was 39:59, solver number 1665.
lmao, me using big ass elimination logic to figure out which way round the low and high digits go before giving up, watching the video, and realizing the obvious fact that there can't be a 4 on the top line
Is it me, or has Sven’s software changed? If I went back to the video part way through my own solve Sven would let me Resume my solve in Safari where I left off. Now, though, it starts me again at the beginning.
I thought that was brilliant although I totally forgot about the adjacent digits rule and spent more time trying to see what to do than I did once I realised and sarted again. I have not watched Mark's solve and guess from the comment below that he had the same forgetfulness
After almost 4 years I think this might be the end of the road for me. I just miss what it used to be. In other words, puzzles that I stood a chance of solving, that were rated fairly and we weren't constantly being patronised with the word "approachable". If I can't solve a 20something minute puzzle, then simply what's the point?
I mean, it doesn't for Mark in the video. But if you actually play/solve the puzzle at the current link in the description, it does. It's also not unfortunate, unless you've personally donated to Sven. And even then, not really unfortunate. It's not an easy puzzle. But it's a pretty easy ruleset to check afterwards.

20:54 ... another joyful experience
Nice puzzle!
Always fun when Mark forgets a rule :)
Literally the second I posted that, he figured it out lol
I attempted this puzzle, gave up, watched the video up to that point, and went "wait, I didn't realize that was a rule!"
Still better than my brain making the "14" arrow invisible for half an hour.

Loved this type of puzzle. Makes me feel smart when I get it right, with lots of help from Mark and when I remember all the rules.

A pleasant diversion, thanks. At times there didn't seem to be enough info, and yet there was.
Exactly. The magic way info propagates across the whole grid is impressive.
Very nice puzzle. The consecutive constraint made it very interesting.
Marvelous and very enjoyable puzzle.

Very good puzzle. Love this constraint. I was stuck for a while but I did at the end! Thanks for the solve Mark 😀

At 23:53 " if this a six", forgetting he's just put a 6 in the same box!! 😂

Very cool puzzle, was able to complete it in 16:29 (conflict checker off), many props to Eclectic Hoosier and Riffclown!

At 15:27 the 38 box 9 was resolved by the 12 pair.
26:26 for me. Nice puzzle!
15:35 for me. Nice puzzle!!
19:05 for me. I was more than 5 minutes into the puzzle when I discovered the non-consecutive rule 😅

Again, took my time but got it!
Cells separated by a white dot must contain consecutive digits. All dots are given.
No

Whew, the non consecutive orthogonal digits rule does a lot of heavy lifting here. Nice minimal puzzle. 🎉
a LOT

2 minutes for Mark to forget the consecutive rule...Wish I could take bets on how long before he notices....
1:11:55 for me @#4450😢
Keep overlooking 😢
36:04 for me
19:47 for me.

Puzzle doesn't include a solution. Unfortunate.
this puzzle was created in March of 2022. Not sure we had the ability to embed the solution back then.
