He completely changed Lada Gaga's "Pokerface" into metal, making it much better. Check out his "Exceptional" cover because it doesn't get near the love it should. Same thing with "Carry Me Over" Avantasia cover (I've recently discovered it & adore that one... better than the original). Then his Spyglass Inn acoustic project songs, Scarborough Fair, The Last Goodbye, and so much more. Anywhere you decide to begin, it will be a great journey.

Well, I wanted to give some suggestions but you already got some great ones. I totally different side would be Fire or The Last Goodbye, both from The Hobbit. Dan does them beautifully too. Or I can go the distance (Disney’s Hercules) in that one you can see little clips of Dan’s video recordings from his start to present time (at filming), that is lovely too. Basically you can’t go wrong with any of them.

I had to laugh there at the end, when you said, "This ain't no choir boy..." because really, when Dan was a kid, he and his brother Davi (Dah-VEE) actually DID sing in their church choir, along with their mom. 😀 If you go WAY back to the beginning of Dan's channel, there are a few short videos from when he and Davi helped bring together music for the youth, for one thing. Dan does have his own band, named FEARLESS. Davi is the bass player. Two of their childhood friends (from the same church setting) are also in the four-man band. Gabriel plays any guitars (acoustic or electric), and Giovanni plays some of the most fantastic drums that I've ever heard (and I've heard a lot of drums over the years...I'm also a musician and singer). You might want to check out "Dawn of Victory" (there are two versions...one very early one by a much younger Dan...you might actually want to watch that one first). Then there's a later one, WITH Fabio Lione (who was one of the two men who wrote the song in the first place). In THAT one, Davi, Gabriel, and Gio are playing the music, while Dan and Fabio have a blast singing the song. It's a FABULOUS video. I've listened to many other interpreters giving reactions to Dan Vasc singing Amazing Grace, but you are the first I've heard commenting that his harmonica was reminiscent of the sound of Bagpipes. That was my thought also. I only discovered his voice and performance recently, and I'm sold out to his sound, method and image. He definitely presents a full package in performance. You should check out a singer named Dimash from Kazakhstan. He has a 7-8 Octave range, plays several instruments and sings in 12 different languages and writes, produces and sings every genre of music. Most people start with the french cover song " S.O.S. d'un terrien en détresse", but you can really hear his low and high range in the song called "Stranger" and his latest song "When I've got you", which has a vampire theme. He is currently classified as the best singer in the world. You may also want to check out a song called "Ogni Pietra Olympico" , which was specifically written for him and premiered at the opening of the 2nd European Games (it's more of an opera song, but really highlights his range).

This cover pretty much ruined any other version of Amazing Grace for me. I agree, these kinds of songs need to be sung this way. I'm not a fan of all Dan's covers. Some of them I don't like, at all. At all. But some of them are sensational. However, I do admire his talent, hard work, and skill. This song is one of his best.

Well, I wanted to give some suggestions but you already got some great ones. I totally different side would be Fire or The Last Goodbye, both from The Hobbit. Dan does them beautifully too. Or I can go the distance (Disney’s Hercules) in that one you can see little clips of Dan’s video recordings from his start to present time (at filming), that is lovely too. Basically you can’t go wrong with any of them.
I love The Hobbit! "Misty Mountains" is probably my favorite song x) I'll gladly check those covers out!

I had to laugh there at the end, when you said, "This ain't no choir boy..." because really, when Dan was a kid, he and his brother Davi (Dah-VEE) actually DID sing in their church choir, along with their mom. 😀 If you go WAY back to the beginning of Dan's channel, there are a few short videos from when he and Davi helped bring together music for the youth, for one thing.
Dan does have his own band, named FEARLESS. Davi is the bass player. Two of their childhood friends (from the same church setting) are also in the four-man band. Gabriel plays any guitars (acoustic or electric), and Giovanni plays some of the most fantastic drums that I've ever heard (and I've heard a lot of drums over the years...I'm also a musician and singer).
You might want to check out "Dawn of Victory" (there are two versions...one very early one by a much younger Dan...you might actually want to watch that one first). Then there's a later one, WITH Fabio Lione (who was one of the two men who wrote the song in the first place). In THAT one, Davi, Gabriel, and Gio are playing the music, while Dan and Fabio have a blast singing the song. It's a FABULOUS video.

Thanks for your reaction to Dan Vasc. He is a very skilled singer from Brazil who can and does sing many different genres of music, even though power metal is his wheelhouse. This song is the best version of Amazing Grace that I have ever heard. I do hope you will give his other videos a try, such as My Heart Will Go On, I'll Make a Man Out of You (Disney Mulan), Bring Me to Life (Evanescence), and Toss a Coin to Your Witcher (Witcher TV series). All of these are just a sampling of his incredible catalog. I have subscribed and look forward to more.

I was about to release them but I changed my upload schedule from everyday to every other day, so instead of being 4 days until my next Sabaton reaction, it turned into 8 days.

So glad I listened to your response. I've listened to many other interpreters giving reactions to Dan Vasc singing Amazing Grace, but you are the first I've heard commenting that his harmonica was reminiscent of the sound of Bagpipes. That was my thought also. I only discovered his voice and performance recently, and I'm sold out to his sound, method and image. He definitely presents a full package in performance. Thank you for featuring Dan's interpretation of Amazing Grace!
You're spot-on. With the harmonica, Mr. Vasc was emulating bagpipes right down to the long-spaced bass drum hits and the imperfect chromatic notes.
Those imperfect chromatic notes were a very nice touch 👌 that's what really solidified the thought that it sounded just like bagpipes! Great musician and vocalist!

You should check out a singer named Dimash from Kazakhstan. He has a 7-8 Octave range, plays several instruments and sings in 12 different languages and writes, produces and sings every genre of music. Most people start with the french cover song " S.O.S. d'un terrien en détresse", but you can really hear his low and high range in the song called "Stranger" and his latest song "When I've got you", which has a vampire theme. He is currently classified as the best singer in the world. You may also want to check out a song called "Ogni Pietra Olympico" , which was specifically written for him and premiered at the opening of the 2nd European Games (it's more of an opera song, but really highlights his range).

This cover pretty much ruined any other version of Amazing Grace for me. I agree, these kinds of songs need to be sung this way. I'm not a fan of all Dan's covers. Some of them I don't like, at all. At all. But some of them are sensational. However, I do admire his talent, hard work, and skill. This song is one of his best.
