This song hit me so hard the first time I heard it, I felt like I couldn’t breathe it was so heart wrenching, and brings me to tears every time I listen to it. I have now requested this be played at my service , whenever that might be. I have only had one or two singers in my life make me feel like Dan does, I am so happy I found him ❤
Dan is crying, I have to cry.... many listeners cry. Dan sings so emotionally, shows his feelings and makes us feel. The silence at the end of the song..... Thoughts, memories, love.... Thank you Dan
I think it was Ludwig van Bethoven who said that music should light a flame in a man's heart and fill a woman's eyes with tears. Like he knew years ago that we will have somebody like Dan Vasc. The one who lights a flame in every heart and fills everyone's eyes with tears. Thank you Viking for this reaction, and sending some good feelings to help you in bad days.
What a beautiful and insightful reaction! Perfection indeed. Billy Boyd’s original is lovely, but Dan lifts it to another plane. Exquisitely sung and interpreted. 🎶❤️
Excellent reaction to this one that Dan did the January after his father passed away. He’s said that he was thinking about him and that is why he’s got tears in his eyes.
Prayers for your family for the news of your puppy. I have hope that maybe in heaven we have our pets again. Jesus has a horse so its not animal free that i know of... loved your reaction!
Dan Vasc is a chameleon - in the best way. He's able to perform his wide variety of songs with passion, emotion and complete believability because he becomes the person whose story he is telling. As you note, he is very well trained, but knows or senses that sometimes the best skill is simplicity - to minimize vibrato for example. Thank you for sharing your personal challenges. That takes strength of character. We must all shine the light.
What a performance Dan delivers here. He embodies the lyrics and sings from the depths of his soul. We feel every word and he takes us on the journey too. Huge respect to Mr Vasc ❤️Shout out to the song writers too. Thanks Viking for the reactions… Hope your puppy is going on ok 💕
Everyone say healing prayers for Dan. He recently injured his left hand pretty badly with a machete cutting down some vines. I pray he gets full use of his beautiful hand back again.
Viking, I feel like Dan has that once in a lifetime voice that we all hear at some point. I have never had a singer move me like Dan Vasc. Such skill and emotion put into his songs and this song is just my favorite. It brings memories of lost loved ones, but always with knowing they are at peace.
I’m sure this song reminded Dan of his dad very emotional song. I listen to this song over and over and over again. He is so good like I have said his talents are off the charts. Thank you my friend. See you next time.
He holds my heart in his hands, in this song. And releases it with extreme delicacy... this is the song of all "goodbyes". Tears invariably come to my eyes - and they are not tears of sadness, but of "realization", of anticipation of longing and gratitude for what was experienced. Daniel's technique allows him to show the entire path of emotion. Thank you very much for your reaction. Hugs from Curitiba - Brazil. 🇧🇷
Indeed he respects and lives the lyrics ... so toughing ... I really cannot think of anyone who can do all those different styles like he does ... really a treasure !!! Perfection, so true ! Hope he does some music soon again ... Lots of strength for you and your family ... always terrible to have to say goodbye to your pet friend ... they take a piece of your heart with you. It hurts like hell ...
Thank you for doing justice to this performance as always. You find the words to express our reaction to the song. Thank you again. Please don't stop Dan has said he doesn't plan to do anymore ballads. This song is just as powerful as anything metal. It would be a shame if Dan does no more ballads
It doesn't matter if he is singing a song like this or a metal song, The emotion you see on his face and you can hear it in his voice. This is why I love his singing/performance.
Thank you, brother Carlos for this amazing and touching reaction! The details that Dan puts inside of his artistry is superb! As the music begins, it has such gentleness and with Dan’s voice echoing, it is as if one is speaking about days that have passed which have now become memories. As the music swells, the vibrancy and passion are there, which tells the heart of the story. As the music comes to a close, I love how Dan brought in such an ethereal vocal choir that sounds like angels singing, which is like it is telling us that it is the beginning of a new story for the one who has departed. It brings a feeling of beauty and warmth wrapped in the sounds of hope and love, in spite of an emotional goodbye. I would have to say that I really do not like death, but to me the most important thing when facing death is if you truly loved the one who has died. If the answer is yes, then love wins….and that is the very thing that makes it worth it all….that is the heart of a song held in the embrace of music and lyrics. ❤️🔥
Dan had just lost his dad to cancer a few months before he recorded this. He and his dad were very close, and this was tribute to their journey together.
My best girl was 15 when I had to send her home. It's been nearly 8 years and I still cry for missing her. Dan did such a beautiful version of this song and at the end he has tears.
I lost my dad to cancer last month. This song was beautiful and heartbreaking 💔 for me. But Dan sang this to perfection. Hail VascNation ❤ I’m very sorry to hear about your puppy 😢
It's not that he knows how to pull our heartstrings, but that he really is feeling as his eyes glisten with real unshed tears. He can make us laugh, he can make us cry. He makes us feel our emotions very deeply. Viking, so sorry for your beloved puppy. They are such a big part of our families. It appears, at least from where I'm standing, that tears are not only in order at the moment, but a necessary release of emotion.
I definitely agree with you. With Dan Vasc you always get the feeling that he identifies with and engages with every song 100 percent. And that comes across and is touching.
Your reactions are always from the heart, Viking. Dan's songs are also from the heart and he nails it every time! I was watching Dan on his gaming channel once and he sang this song a capella. It wasn't polished at all but still, it was beautiful. Thanks for this.
I have heard many great voices in my lifetime but none have equaled the voice of Dan Vasc. Truly amazing when Dan sing, he has the power to draw people into the song! We don't just hear the music, we feel it. He is a natural performer. No one else could sing this song better. No one! Thank you for your reaction, great as allways! 😊
It's a beautiful song and Dan sings it with so much emotion and devotion. Not long before, his father had passed away and you can see the sadness in his eyes. This song comes straight from his heart and I get goosebumps every time I hear it. Thank you for your reaction and much strength for the difficult time that lies ahead of you. 🙏
Great reaction Viking. We fell in love with this song when we first heard Dan sing it. So full of emotion. Know matter how many times we've listened to this, it still sends shivers down our backs. Both of us have said when our time comes this is to be played at our funerals Dan singing it. Music says so much to everyone, I've said it before and happily say it again. Music knows no boarders or language it speaks to all.
Oh Viking! So sorry to hear about your "fur baby" 🐾😢 After you explained this, watching you react took on a new meaning. Thank you for sharing how this song touched you at this precise moment. Thinking of you and your family esp your kids, as your "pup" is definitely 💯 family. 🥰💞
First of all, so sorry to hear about your pup.Prayers and hugs for comfort. I always think of my last moments with my Mom before she passed. You can connect with Dan and his songs. Please pray for Dan to have complete recovery from his accident to his fingers. Love your reactions to Dan.
Dear Viking, I know exactly what you are feeling. My "puppy" of 14 years, Toby, died nearly a year ago while I was in Germany to bury my mother. My husband had to make the heavy decision to end Toby's pain. Toby was my little soul mate. Dan's emotions and tears in this song reflect the pain he was feeling from the loss of his father. As you said, we all have our own frame of reference, and it might change from time to time. What never changes is how Dan slides into our hearts and souls. He is the most incredible performer I have ever come across and a remarkable human being. There is no way not to love him. I'm praying for you, your family, and your beloved pup.🙏❤
Today I was thinking about my best friend, she passed a couple of years ago and today was the anniversary of that. She introduced me the The Lord Of The Rings, a short cartoon version of it she had from somewhere. She was Dyslexic and had never even tried to read the books, so over the course of the following couple of years I read them to her. She also introduced me to Rock music... these tears are happy ones, the memories cherished. I needed this today.
This one hit me hard today. 2 days ago I had to help my beloved Gracie, long haired Chihuahua, cross the rainbow bridge. 😭. I was there the moment she was born and I was holding her as the vet helped her cross over. Nearly 14 years of her companionship and unconditional love. Great song, full of emotion. Bless you Viking as you face the next steps with your baby.
What an emotional Saturday Dan Day. A beautiful song by Dan... a goosebump feeling. I sit back and enjoy the beauty of his music. Dan takes us on this journey and maybe on his journey too. Everyone has their own thoughts about it, whether in the memory of loved ones or beloved animals. I feel for you Viking, it is difficult, whether it is a dog, cat or another animal. Thank you for your wonderful reaction to this epic song by Dan and for sharing....
Viking.... if Dan pulls heartstrings, they are most likely to be his first. I can not think of a single vocalist that could be considered as emotional as Dan Vasc, depending on the song. Even here, he is reared up. At the end, he has a tear that runs down his cheeks. This is not a criticism. I love your work. Keep up the good work!
When I hear this song, I think of a few things, 2 of my friends, that commited suicide, 1 from PTSD and 1 from depression. My other friend that lost everything, his ex actually killed his only daughter and then herself, he went through hell, but ultimately died 3 years later, I still think of a broken heart. My mother, that fought cancer, but when you asked her if she had pain, she said God carried the bulk of the pain. My own failed marraige, which in the end I decided to forgive the wrong, and now feels like a new person that can conquer anything and lastly a special lady friend I lost in an accident, her last words almost 40 years ago was, don't cry, just follow your road and never look back.
Did not get to watch live. But had to watch. This one makes me tear up. He puts so much emotion into his voice, his performance... ❤ He is so good! Knew it would hit home with you Viking. And I am so sorry about your "puppy". Lost my beautiful fur baby to cancer Sending prayers for her, and you and your family.
You are real, and so are your reactions. I like that a lot. Dan Sang this song with such beauty and feeling. Watching and listening took me into that feeling world too. I realize moy, that when Dan performs, I sense that it is OK to feel, and if you can, continue doing too. I was quite surprised and impressed a]by a memory tribute he gave a special friend who helped his band with their first album. I think that in Brazil, feelings about loved ones lost are permitted and respected. It is permitted to give visual signs of grief. In the US, where I live in a ranching community, the highest praise is given for hiding all illness or sad emotions and pretending they do not exist.
Hi Viking so sorry to hear about your dog. God bless you. This video was beautiful. Dan always has a way to make you feel the song. He has such an amazing voice. I love it. Thank you Viking
Dan’s voice in this one reminds me of a warm sad gentle and sad experience.I have never heard this Dan voice before this very tender farewell. Toward the end, where he is silent fir a moment, he is contracting his throat, like someone is trying not to cry. After that ]. if you look closely at the right eye a single tear runs down his face.. the sound of this song is so beautiful.
Carlo, first, I'm so sorry hearing about your puppy! My thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Second, Dan's emotions here were absolutely real because he recorded that video exactly 3 months after his father's passing. So it definitely was a last goodbye. Which makes it even more moving.
Thank you for another wonderful, heartfelt reaction. I just love this song from Dan. While I love his metal stuff, his softer pieces just touch the soul. Great choice for SaturDanDay.
I lost my dear dog of 14 years almost 3 weeks ago and I feel your pain, Viking. I first heard this song not long after my beloved husband died and it struck me then also, but differently. Yes, Dan pulls our heartstrings any time he wants to do so. That's why I have been missing new music from him. Thank you for your true reactions. I wish I could make your SaturDan live streams, but it is difficult.
My heart goes out to you Viking. I've dealt with losing a dog to cancer and I will be letting go of another dog this week. I know the pain as I too feel it. There's comfort in knowing they no longer feel pain. It's now ours to bear.
Your emotions gave me goosebumps in this video,Viking. It’s so easy to love them with all your heart. It’s so hard to loose a piece of your heart when they must leave you. Hugs to you and your family. Kisses and belly rubs to your puppy.
Came into this not expecting much, but his rendition hit. As you said, heart strings and all. Agree on using silence...it pulls you in if done correctly. Best to you and sorry about your recent news.
Viking, try giving your pup Artemisinin. I gave it to my Boxer who was getting mast cell tumors and she lived to 14 1/2, very long for a Boxer. She weighed 60 pounds and I gave her a 100mg capsule morning and evening. It's worth a try. Look it up to read about it and for dosage. 💙
Thanks Viking. So emotional this one, Dan did it again. Stay strong Viking and everyone else too, our cat was the child we couldn't have so I know how it feels to be losing a member of your family. I remember the sadness of losing a pet as a child, your kids need your strength. Hugs
Every time I listen to Dan's emotive cover, I think of all of my loved ones I have sat with as they left this life, and I bid them all a very fond farewell again. 💔 Thank you, Dan for giving me these moments of reflection, and thank you, Viking, for all of your touching reactions. Give your puppy a hug from me.
Thank you so much for this. I've said goodbye to two dogs of same age as yours, so i know what you're going through, and understand exactly how you feel. Dan sings this with so much feeling and clarity, that just listening to the beauty of the way he uses his voicemakes me cry every time i hear this song.
You're right Viking about the heartstrings, he plays my heart like a puppet on strings, a merciless puppeteer. I agree, silence is so pognant in music, if masterfully done, and Dan Vasc is a masterclass in himself.
Amazing and emotionally hard hitting in my heart❤ You are right about how people perceive songs differently. God bless your dog and you as you go down this sad path. You can tell his emotions when he sings. 💖💖💖
Dan is never afraid to show his emotions, and you see it here to, thanks Viking 💞💞💞💞😢😢So sorry for your dog, a lost mine to years ago, but still miss him, prayers for your dog Viking🙏🏽🙏🏽
Awesome! Like you said, Dan did an amazing job. Thank you for your reaction. I think of all who have passed away in my family, our 4 legged babies who have passed. Letting go is hard, but seeing all again will be amazing.❤
Thank you so much. I think of my friends and family everytime I hear Dan sing this song, it amazes me how I remember all the good times we all had. Big Cajun family reunions, with awesome food. Very good times.😊
If i remember correctly Dan mentioned on a geeks and gamer episode a few years ago, he had real emotions as his father had passed not long before he recorded this.
This hits hard. Me and my wife lost our son almost 6 years ago now and I'm feeling it all over again with this song. Such a beautiful interpretation and bringing out the feelings. 12-14-18. Mommy and Daddy love you Xander.
Clamavi De Profundus version is absolutely beautiful as well. It's the only version I've ever heard. I have that and a few other of their songs on my playlist.
I'm sitting here crying! Never heard this song before and loved his emotions in this!
This one i could listen to over and over... The depth of grief is so intense that i could almost taste it. Bravo, Mr Vasc
This is quickly becoming a top 3 of Dan's performances for me. So sweetly sad... OMG...
That is so tender and beautiful. You are the right one to watch this with.
There is no one like Dan Vasc.
I see the tears in his eyes. 😢
This song hit me so hard the first time I heard it, I felt like I couldn’t breathe it was so heart wrenching, and brings me to tears every time I listen to it. I have now requested this be played at my service , whenever that might be. I have only had one or two singers in my life make me feel like Dan does, I am so happy I found him ❤
He lives it.... and draws you into it with him....... God blessed him with this special gift and he handles it with the care and respect it deserves!!

Omgosh that was beautiful!
Dan makes us feel things, which is good. He is a wonderful gift to us all.
I am so sorry to hear about your beloved puppy. You will always remember the love between you, and it is timeless.
I wonder if he knows how much he touches his audience . This is such a heartfelt rendition . Thank you for your reaction .
You are correct Viking about his emotions in his singing as a sensitive human, I am very emotional person!!!
Dan 😢
Viking thank you for this and I'm sorry about your dog. May the Lord give you comfort and peace 🙏. That goes for you as well Dan
So beautifully said...
@ TY 🙏🏻🙂
Indeed he respects and lives the lyrics ... so toughing ... I really cannot think of anyone who can do all those different styles like he does ... really a treasure !!! Perfection, so true ! Hope he does some music soon again ... Lots of strength for you and your family ... always terrible to have to say goodbye to your pet friend ... they take a piece of your heart with you. It hurts like hell ...
HOW BEAUTIFUL DAN VASC SINGS THIS SONG, THE LAST FAREWELL, HEART-STRINGS PULLING ALL OF US. THANK YOU 😢
I cry my eyes out when I hear this his voice is beautiful. So sorry about your puppy I don’t care how old they are their always your puppy.
Thank you for doing justice to this performance as always. You find the words to express our reaction to the song. Thank you again. Please don't stop
Dan has said he doesn't plan to do anymore ballads. This song is just as powerful as anything metal. It would be a shame if Dan does no more ballads
And his ending with his tears falling down from his eyes. OMG!😢
He was crying about his dad
How does Dan always manage to break my heart?
It doesn't matter if he is singing a song like this or a metal song, The emotion you see on his face and you can hear it in his voice. This is why I love his singing/performance.
Our 14 yr old puppy has only a few months left, so I feel your pain. Blessings to you and your family.
Dear Viking, I feel so sorry for your dog. I know exactly how painful it is.

One of my favorite Dan Covers…the words and his voice just resonates emotion.
Yes LOTR I love that to,😇
This was an emotional one. I had this played at my son's memorial service last May. 😥 It's tough to listen to, but I love the song.
First of all, so sorry to hear about your pup.Prayers and hugs for comfort. I always think of my last moments with my Mom before she passed. You can connect with Dan and his songs. Please pray for Dan to have complete recovery from his accident to his fingers. Love your reactions to Dan.

Dan Vasc dives deeply into the emotions of a song... He connects with the lyrics & melody bringing us along on that journey.
One of my favorites by Dan!!!
Ugh. He damn near physically rips my heart straight out of my chest. I miss my son. 💙💜🦋
this will be the song sung by Dan at my funeral. I already told my daughter❤
Absolutely stunning. And I am sorry about your puppy.
Oh. So sorry about your sweet furbaby. We have lost many to cancer. Both people and pets.
That was a very deep emotional interpretation. So touching and mesmerizing. I really loved it .Another enjoyable SaturDanDay. Thank you so much.
Of course, Dan adds the emotion to this song, which makes it all the more beautiful.
Thanks Viking. So emotional this one, Dan did it again. Stay strong Viking and everyone else too, our cat was the child we couldn't have so I know how it feels to be losing a member of your family. I remember the sadness of losing a pet as a child, your kids need your strength. Hugs
I love “Wheel of Time”!! But I love Dan’s music whatever it may be. Thanks for another great reaction.
Thank you , that reflects my feelings also .
Thank you so much for this.
I've said goodbye to two dogs of same age as yours, so i know what you're going through, and understand exactly how you feel.
Dan sings this with so much feeling and clarity, that just listening to the beauty of the way he uses his voicemakes me cry every time i hear this song.
This is one of three songs that will be played in my funeral ❤
A beautiful song and Dann sings it brilliantly as always. Very melancholic, epic..
Dan's rendition of this song is perfection, as you said. Just perfection. Thanks for sharing your frame of reference with us.
Dan=Perfection❣️My favorite Dan song👍Loved your reaction 😀👏
You're right Viking about the heartstrings, he plays my heart like a puppet on strings, a merciless puppeteer. I agree, silence is so pognant in music, if masterfully done, and Dan Vasc is a masterclass in himself.
I cannot love this enough! ❤❤ What can he not sing & your reactions are ❤❤
Amazing and emotionally hard hitting in my heart❤ You are right about how people perceive songs differently.
YES!!!!
So wonderful. Need to watch all of the movies again.
