I've heard covers of this song before, and I've probably listened to the original a thousand times, but this version hit me right in the chest from the very first line. I don't even think I know what about it affected me so, but I'm sitting here with a heaviness in my heart and the warmth of tears in my eyes. It is beautiful and haunting, bittersweet like the memory of a childhood friend or an old love. The original is such an amazing song. This is better.

I did not know this song. I wish I had known and I would have been prepared because I lost, way too early, the most wonderful man in the world, and then, our two eldest sons, as young adults, were called home as well. Without their Dad, I had to be the strong one for my younger children so burying my grief was how I coped. This song hit me suddenly and it hit me hard. Sometimes, though, a person needs something that allows the grief to surface, to be acknowledged again because it is too easy to just bury it and I had buried it so deep. Dan did it right. Thank you, Viking and Dan Vasc. I needed that.

For me this song have só much meaning, great reaction and comments viking. I cry everytime.
I did not know this song. I wish I had known and I would have been prepared because I lost, way too early, the most wonderful man in the world, and then, our two eldest sons, as young adults, were called home as well. Without their Dad, I had to be the strong one for my younger children so burying my grief was how I coped. This song hit me suddenly and it hit me hard. Sometimes, though, a person needs something that allows the grief to surface, to be acknowledged again because it is too easy to just bury it and I had buried it so deep. Dan did it right. Thank you, Viking and Dan Vasc. I needed that.

I dont quite understand why he say “I have been alone all along” . He seems angry as the song progresses. Why? Maybe it is because he cant]’t let go, or maybe he is still angry that the loved one is gone? Hopefully some one will answer. I will check back later.
Every cover Dan does is much, much, better than the original. This can simply be concluded based on the emotion he evokes in each of us who like to listen to him, and of course, watch, because watching also contributes to the overall experience. Dan is actually a complete performer, the stage is like his home, and we all feel it
After watching this reaction, I wanted to see if you had reacted to Dan's version of Sounds of Silence. I couldn't find it so if you haven't reacted to it, you should definitely consider putting it on your list. I like it better than Disturb's version. Someone said (I wish I could remember who to give credit): "If Simon and Garfunkel's version was a warning, Dan Vasc's version is rage that the warning was ignored!". P.S. I prefer Dan’s version over the original (no offense Amy Lee). Dan is such a chameleon; it’s incredible. He has a way of piercing your soul when he sings; even while singing metal. Not many vocalists can do that to me. One reason I love Dan! Hail VascNation ❤ Btw……does your merch ship to the US????
