- What will our world look like 25 years from now? Watch this lecture about the meaning of life shaped by technology in a near future.
Nobody knows how our world will look like in 25 years. Perhaps our work is taken over by autonomous robots and we become the slaves of the technology we have created ourselves. The big questions about the future of man and his relation to technology are presented to two important thinkers of the moment: Kevin Kelly and Yuval Noah Harari.
Kevin Kelly is a writer of influential works such as What Technology Wants and The Inevitable. Kelly sketches the inevitability of technology and even sees technology as an autonomous evolutionary system. Artificial intelligence becomes commonplace for everyone and will help us analyze difficult issues and challenge them to reflect on who we are. Kelly is convinced that we are already seen as Gods by technology and that robots will also believe in their own Gods.
Yuval Noah Harari is a writer of books about the history of Homo Sapiens and Homo Deus. Harari sketches the history of tomorrow and analyzes the way in which we create our own illusions; illusory institutions such as religion, states and money. We believe in gods because we want to be them ourselves. Harari sees a society with inequalities where some people can upgrade themselves to gods and others will remain vulnerable and mortal.

ai and robot is just a tool. it can be used wrong and can be used right. i think ai and robot is good cause it helping human to know god. if man is image of god and robot is image of man. so, if man learns from robot which is an image of man. we human will learn our image. we learn about ourselves. in turn, we learn about god and the one who created us in his own image. ai and robot for me is just an experiment of man to knows mans better. to learn our consciousness. to learn our behavior, to learn our feeling. so, the meaning of knowing yourself is a key to knowing God is really makes sense with this new technology of artificial intelligence.

I was having a conversation with my family last week about the "End Times" and its INSANE how everything said in the bible is coming together. If you really stop and think... By religious beliefs, the earth is between 5-10,000 years old. Or if your one of the science guys that believe our planet is millions of years old, either way, why did it take that long for us to invent tv/computers electricity and so on. Why at this point in time is all this coming together? And the bible talks about the end times wherein the AntiChrist will come in, bring everyone together worldwide (ie. The internet) and one world currency/money (ie.BitCoin) and of course i dont claim to know anything. Im no scholar or scientist. Just a 36yr old sinner that accepted the lord into my heart a couple of years back.... As a child, my family raised chickens, and had a garden. Every Sunday my father killed a chicken, i helped my mother clean and take the feathers off it, it was the best dinners i have ever eaten. Fresh meat, home grown vegetables. Our ancesters hunted and fished to eat and used everything on the animal for what we needed. It would be just like that again, it takes a little of the hated word "work" but it is worthwhile. Much better than these robots living our life for us.

The creator is not an EVIL god, read genesis 3:5 and take note it's says very plainly that All gods are evil and in other places your bible says gods are created beings. @Carlos Munoz Singularity is not possible. Saying that robots and machines will be better or smarter than humans is like saying animals are better than humans. Elephants are bigger, cheetahs are faster, birds are more agile etc but the problem is that all of those are separate animals and are only better in separate categories. A single program would need to excel in all of those things at once.
Computers appear to be more intellegent when in fact they are performing extremely low level thinking, extremely fast. They aren't actually smart, they are just capable of doing certain tasks in less time than people can. If a person defines intellegence in ways that eliminate concepts such as morality, emotion, empathy, humor, relationship and so on, then the phrase artificial intelligence is not so meaningful.
The most advanced computer still pits human intelligence against human intelligence. On one side is a single person. On the other side is a machine mechanically drawing on the collective intelligence of many people. It's not smarter, it's just better at getting certain results according to the rules of a particular game.
Singularity assumes that processing power will advance forever but that's bs. That is contrary to the natural laws of the universe and physics has it's limits.
The complexity required to simulate a human mind is so far beyond theoretical designs that true artificial intelligence will never exist.
The mind is where the soul is and the secret to it is very guarded. A system can never become more complex or capable than it's originator, and the chief angel can never become more capable than the only creater God. Creating robots is just a modern day version of carving an idol and worshipping it. Nothing new under the sun

I programmed large computers for 45 years, and in my most humble opinion, if we could create enough memory and fast enough speed of access of all that is stored, including experiences that are ongoing, the entity/device will be conscience ?! I did say "Geoengineering" "Climate Engineering" and to add one term. "Stratospheric Aerosol Injection" and the toxic chemicals utilized to exerted their collective effects on the manipulation of the weather. Eventually the chemical laced aerosols precipitate out and reach the ground.
These very chemicals precipitate out and fall to ground. In turn the toxic effects commence. The chemicals are nanoscopic in size. In turn, inhaled. The chemicals also get into the ground, water and eventually in to all things living. I'm surprised that your group has not investigated and produced a documentary on this subject matter before. Given the magnitude and myriad of the toxic effects these chemicals exert all peoples, plants, animals and the insects. "When the insects die Humans die". So said Albert Einstein.

Comparing humans to gods is a bit much. The ability to control electricity, flight, and use the internet may have been magical to 17 century peoples, but we are far from divine even now. It would be nice if we were a little more humane.
Sure but that's current technology, in the future we could warp matter at will, create life in an instant, teleport, destroy whole stars. These people are always preaching doom and gloom so that they can justify their huge grants for study, and they must perform these experiments to get new and greater funding. We could have greatly improved the entire world if we had spent it on known technology for the human good rather than “research”. Some research is always good, but, these guys have lost their way...
