Thinking you could have saved some time by using a wedge and axe to split the wood instead of a chainsaw

This was a perfect log hive, some people go to a lot of trouble to make something like this from a solid tree trunk. You could have just closed the top and the bottom of the log and transported it to your apiary as is...
