I have heard sheep or goats will eat adding more manure etc and trampling, and one of them also breaks the parasite cycle. One of the goat ranchers in our area is working with cattle ranchers to clean up so both make money. Win win.

Enjoyed finding your site; ya that pinkeye literally disappeared for us when we cut the top 2 inches off our pastures, it’s the pokey grass/ weeds that poke their eyes make them sensitive-THEN the flies cycle their eyes…..

I'm glad to hear you agree that tall grass isn't helping with pinkeye.

Is there much Fescue in your pasture?

Nice! My cattle are loving the more mature forages right now...I don't know why but I'm happy they are. That clover is pumping nitrogen straight to the grasses. Every time the cattle take a bite of the clover, it's releasing N.

Well fed cattle. They are not hot to trot to get in the new paddock. That means their bellies are already full. Cows are like "More fresh grass? okay, i guess if I have to...""

@Abdel Piedramartel Great improvements. There is something magical between grazing animals and pollinators.

I milked cows for 40 years. A cow would go dry eating whats out there. Patch should have been cut for hay a month ago !! New tender regrowth.....to help the cows produce more milk = bigger calf.......more profit ! A cow would have a hard time producing much milk eating over grown vegetation !
