  • Test and install of the GiEX Smart Garden Hose Water Valve. First, connecting the Moes Zigbee Hub to SmartLife then connecting the Smart Valve to the SmartLife App. Control your garden hose sprinkler with your smartphone based on schedules, timers or how much water flow. Does not work with SmartThings direct at the time of this video post. It will connect indirectly/though cloud to SmartThings.

Hei @EcoNet Controls - how about the durability of the Hose water valve? I read in some forums, that users have a problem with a not closing device, and the water runs forever?

Thanks for the note. So far so good on my installation. I will continue testing and post if there are problems.

Hey, nice video! Have the same valve here and I'm trying to get it work with Z2M but I can't get it to pairing mode. Am I dumb? Tried repeatedly switching it on and off and holding the button for few seconds but nothing worked. Didn't see the device in Homeassistant. Any hints for me to get it into pairing mode?

I have 3 of them paired to a Sonoff USB Zigbee 3.0 dongle plus which is connected to ZHA in Home Assistant (I do not use Z2M). GiEx smart valve turns in pairing mode the moment the 4th battery is inserted and connected. It helped to bring the valve close to the Zigbee coordinator for pairing before I mounted it to the garden tap. Warning! better not to apply high force to stop water leaking between tap and valve housing, the plasticky screwcap to the brass part is not very robust 😡 had to glue it to fix the broken part. I had troubles with the quality of the network connection, it happens that the valve turns on the water but does not receive ( or recognize ) the turn-off command. In this case the water runs forever until our storage tank is empty. So I added another path to control the electric water pump for an emergency-off with a node-red logic (still in beta)
