Unfortunately, you cannot injure anyone trying to break into your car, your home if you are not home, or property unless you are present and threatened. There is no law protecting your property from being destroyed, what mean is that while it is illegal for them to do so… it’s only after the fact, and if the person destroying your property while you are not there get injured by something you left behind in an intent to stop said action, you could be sued.
Good example of this is the guy who got tired of his mailbox getting destroyed by kids driving around and taking them out with a bat. He decided to fill it with concrete. Kids doing what kids do and got injured, he got jail time. True story, look it up.
