Money can't buy Whiteness. Black Americans can't be rich, they can only be the Black rich. For instance, a Black American can't be a millionaire, he or she can only be a Black millionaire. The thing is, there is a difference between White rich and Black rich. I'm not suggesting that one is better than the other but there is a universe of difference between the two, unfortunately. Separate but (un) equal. When you actually focus on this, it's spooky if not frightening. Rich or poor, black folks exist in a parallel, alternate universe of sadness and despair. Money and the trappings of money won't ever be able to buy genuine, fundamental, spiritual happiness. Your values, morals, ideals and goals are what's important. You have to use White folk's money to facilitate securing these qualities. You have to look beyond status symbols. There's nothing wrong with a few luxuries here and there but, those luxuries are for you, not your neighbors. Forget about showing off for people that don't really care about you.
In summary, it’s called the system of White Supremacy. As Neely Fuller says “if you don’t under WS and how it works, anything you do understand will only confuse you”. Many Black people are confused unfortunately.

Gucci(The great fashion giant) did a remake of a jacket HE (Dapper Dan) CREATED.......CREATED not bought. Some of the stores in these malls and strip malls buy the knockoff jerseys and fake sneakers and no name brand jeans from the Garden district or wherever at a looooow price then sell them to the consumer at probably 5-10 times what they paid for it. Buy it for $5 a pair in bulk then sell for $50-$100/pair. It's the same as the dope game.

Very interesting. One other interesting thing apart from comparing the Black style to the Italian style is to compare it to the Asian style, the Chinese, Koreans, Japanese. They won't be stepping out with silk shirts fat gold chains and jeweled rings. there are exceptions of course but even the Asian gangsters are pretty low key. I knew of a Chinese businessman in the 70s who owned maybe 5 or 6 properties, rentals and retail spaces, who could have driven in a BMW but rode a bicycle around town. But when it comes to getting their kids a top education, forget about it! That's how they climb the social ladder, a high school teacher has more social status than a street hustler regardless of how much cash they have.
I used to hate getting spankings(got one almost everyday until I hit 15/16) BUT I notice it allowed me to deal with pain, and keep it moving The people I saw who didn't get spankings ended trying hard drugs, constantly chasing chicks, and just seem weak to me. I think spanking itself is done wrong, but I do think some type of pain has to happen while the child is young cause if you wait until they're teenagers, I think they will stay weak people, at least from what I've seen The problem is a lot of weak people have money or titles, so they assume they are strong, but not to me cause they lack discipline for themselves, and that same money ends up being their downfall, they can just hide it!
