Look at that Vincent go at the end of the video. What a bike! In 1981, I had a 1978 Ducati 900ss, and there’s no way it would have kept up with that Vincent from the 50s.
commentator quotes Vincent Lightning in fact John raced in 500cc class on a Vincent Grey Flash sort of as he had built and modified it himself. How on earth he raced it with its 300 x 20 front wheel which tended to lose any grip at the slighted hint of water would love to have seen him race Hailwood
I grew up watching Surtees, Duke, McIntire, Agostini, and Hailwood, and all those other guys racing. It gives me goose bumps watching Bob McIntire in On the Right Line. When I look at the racing now, I can't bear to look at it. It looks like a computer game to me. Those previously mentioned, had 'guts', character, and strength. You had to be a man to get around on those monsters! Something utterly lacking in today's racing.
What a fantastic documentary this is!
These images are priceless, what an absolute brilliant informative film.
We were there. What a great day it was. Never forgotten.
Great stuff ... so many heroes
Nice Bikes, John. Keep it up

Why the music
where was Mike Hailwood?
He’d died two months before this.

You could have asked before putting my film here. Removing the credits do not give you ownership.
Loti Irwin
Maybe you could have chosen to share the film? So many have enjoyed seeing it, including me.
