Awesome! I didn't know Milk released pints. I think the "Pie" Flavor is an homage to their famous "Milk Bar Pie",formerly known as "Crack Pie", an ooey gooey butter + sugar pie with an oatmeal cookie type crust.
Kevin: "So just sugar?" - Savage 😂 and I agree, I hate soggy cereal too... it kinda gives me a gag reflex... I know TMI but seriously.. it does. All of these sound delicious... but I wouldn't expect less of Christina Tosi lol. Milk Bar is a dessert and bakery chain of restaurants founded by her 😄
It’s their Crack Pie!!! Perhaps one of the very first things they were known for. When you first said ‘Pie’ I was like ‘hmmm’ but as you read the description I realized it was THE pie and the name of the ice cream made perfect sense! Now days you can find recipes for Crack Pie cookies and bars-because the pie requires quite a few steps to make it. If you get a chance-go try the real thing!! 😋🎉
I just had the Jeni’s Birthday Cake (not the Milk brand). Now I’m not a birthday cake fan, so this probably colors my opinion, but boy, is it sweet. So sweet, I don’t need portion control. Can only deal with a tiny dish at a time. It is so pretty because it has tons and tons sprinkles. Also picked up the ‘pie’ flavor, so excited about it
Ive had the cereal milk pint....its just too damn sweet...no balance of flavors ...its taste sweeter than frosted flakes ... No relief. I couldn't even finish one scoop without getting a stomach ache
i love the birthday cake. my local grocery store puts them on sale for $3.98 every few months and i buy the entire stock because $6 a pint is expensive when you can't eat just one of these lol :) i've tried them all except the plain cornflake.
They have standalone locations in New York and DC. Haven’t been; but I know people rave about it. Definitely fits into the special treat category like twice a year for me. My birthday is in 2 months; I think I know what ice cream I am getting
I am going to have to hunt these down. I have never had them before. You guys have me excited to find them singing their praises like that. Wow, great review! 😮👀👏
My favorite was the cornflake marshmallow! So yummy! I was disappointed in the birthday just because the Jenni’s birthday cake version is so much better.
milkbar has bakeries in major cities like Boston and NYC and are known for their ice cream. Makes sense that their ice cream would be scrumptious. Also their crack pie aka milk bar pie is most likely what they're going after. it's one of their OG recipes. Wonder if it's better than Jennis ooey butter cake ice cream.
Just had the cereal milk for the 1st time he big hunk of corn flake ruined it for me I feel it would've been much better had the chunk been spread out kinda disappointing
I saw someone else review the ice creams and he thought the same thing was going to happen, but nope. He liked all of these ice creams too. For me, I would go with Pie, as that sounds like an unusual ice cream flavor. Just read the press release and it says they will be available at other retailers later this summer (I’m obviously assuming Target as they carry the brand).
Wow these sounds awfully good. I know there’s a Whole Foods nearby and wonder if they have this brand in stock. Thanks foe a phenomenal review. I’m glad you decided to buy these ice creams. Yummy!!! Enjoy the rest.......I’ll be thinking of you, lol.
We don’t have a Whole Foods… the pie would be my choice… I don’t like milk bar cookies because the cereal in them is soggy… $6 is a lot for a pint… other brands are less than $4 most of the time…
We don`t where iam in England either. We do get the Branded makes (Ben&jerrys Haagen Dazs etc) ,and they`re nearly always on offer in one of our supermarkets.£3 per tub.Soggy cereal..just no.LOL
LOL I love Kevin`s comment "it`s just sugar"!!..I remember when i was pregnant i`d whip up some vanilla icecream and add p-lain cornflakes! It was divine:)..Tami i agree ,Ben and Jerrys are not really competitive anymore and the flavours we do have ,seem (for me anyways) ,way over the top.Great review guys.Just one question.Who finished them off?:):)
I'd love to try all of these but can't spend $6 for the size you're getting. Whole Foods prices are ridiculous. It would be nice if Wal-marts got these but I'm not holding my breath lol.
These all sound fantastic, although with Ashley giving you an XS bathing suit this ice cream is not going to help 🤣🤪. I’d definitely pick any of these up. 🤣 it’s nice to see that you guys can’t stop eating, doesn’t often happen which is surprising with all the reviews you do. Thanks for the review.
Great review. These sound amazing! I do have a serious question for Kevin... I know he gets teased sometimes for describing so many things as “bitter.” This is not a criticism but rather a genuine question I’ve been wanting to ask. Generally when I hear “bitter” that to me means unpleasant flavor....so not good. However, Kevin will often say something is bitter but not bad. And other times he’ll use the word bitter for things he doesn’t like at all. So I’m a bit confused by that. I don’t know if what I’m saying makes sense but I thought I’d ask for clarification. Thanks guys.
@@angiej3127 - Oh, yes... I wasn’t specifically meaning this review. Just in general he describes things as bitter quite often. And I’ve noticed that he uses the term for both the things he likes and things he doesn’t like at all. Definitely not a criticism...just curious. I understand what you’re saying though. Thanks.
When he uses the word bitter, he literally means "not sweet" or "a sharp taste". When he uses bitter, it doesn't necessarily mean bad. It just all depends on how balanced it is in the food. In this ice cream, the chocolate was bitter, but it was so well balanced with the sweetness of the ice cream, it had a wonderful flavor.
@@TamiDunn - Now I totally get it. Thank you! I was reluctant to ask because I didn’t want to sound like I was being critical or just plain stupid. Lol. But now I’m glad I asked because your explanation totally makes sense to me. And this ice cream sounds absolutely divine. Thank you 😊
Butter is one of the 5 basic tastes zones on the tongue. It is not referenced often. Kevin prob has an above average developed sense of this type of flavor and you’re correct-it’s not a bad thing at all. People who have very developed senses of all 5 make good taste testers, or even used for developing perfumes because they can pick up notes, others can’t detect.
Yum!!
Oh that birthday cake...yum..looks so good!!!
Oatmeal pie maybe?? Just a guess, I haven’t tried it. 😊
These sound wonderful 😊
They are!

I want to try Pie and Birthday Cake. I,m not in to marshmellow
This is a great ice cream!
I love that black ice cream container my favorite I have to stop buying it 😄🥰
Can’t wait to try them, thanks for reviews!
Hope you enjoy!

i would go for the cornflake chocolate chip marshmallow 😬
You would be happy with it, I'm sure!

When we eat dessert, we want it super sweet :)
I loved these ice creams!

You think $6 is expensive, my grocery store (outside the States) sells it for $11 and $7 on sale :*(

You won't regret it!
Yes, the left over sugar milk after eating the cereal is so good. The only one I would not try is the one with marshmallow. Good review.
Thank you 🤗

We bought the Jeni's Gooey Butter cake and will try it soon!
Funny you mentioned peanuts, I'm also a peanut butter fanatic and am always surprised that Milk Bar actually has no desserts using any nuts!
Oh wow! I wish they would consider it!
😉

Cereal milk would be my pick without a thought. I'd put extra cereal on top like I do with all of my ice cream!
Wow these sounds awfully good. I know there’s a Whole Foods nearby and wonder if they have this brand in stock.

I can't imagine Walmart carrying them, but maybe Target will.
This Company might be too small for large scale distribution, at this time. Hope that changes.

I think he is referring to the dark chocolate/semi-sweet flavor. If you like dark chocolate, it won't bother you.
