I bought a1950 registered S7 De Luxe from Comerfords of Thames Ditton in 1957. It was £75-00 on hire purchase and I had it delivered by rail to my local station. I sold it to buy a newer BSA B33 a year later! Must have been mad but I was only 17!
Another bike screwed by the accountants. Should have had hardened steel bevel drive gears in a oil bath but the pen pushers decided it would have Phosphor Bronze worm drive gears which wore out fast.
