    It’s so sad that parents do this to their children. They portray a perfect fun family life but behind the scenes it’s not at all and these poor kids grow up witnessing it all. The part about how the parents guilt the child and say it will be their fault if they go broke. That’s too much pressure for a child of any age to say that! These are the worst parents.

    You can travel with kids, but they do need some stability. We travel in the summer and move into our condo in the winter. We are a family of three that travel in a 33' travel travel trailer. Our one has a bedroom, with a real bed, a real door, and their own bathroom. They have to use mom and dad's for shower. We homeschool, but damn! Kids need stability and the ability to sleep in a real bed and know they'll be somewhere longer than a week. Balance, man! Balance!

    I heard a parent say that they do the RV life because they will live their lifes to the fullest. I think that you can that also in a normal home. When you can't be happy in a normal home, then is RV life not the solution for that.

    I think some of us (many of us?) have an idea who that was, but out of respect to the minor currently living in hell, I will not mention names. I just think some vanlife parents spend a bit too much time making sure it looks like it’s all about the kids, when that’s clearly BS, as it’s really about Narcissa (also known as many vanlife mothers), and IT SHOWS. Looking back at older posts for some of these families, their children look f-ng terrified that they’re gonna say the wrong thing, which as a mum (and a human), just breaks my heart. 😢

  • @annaf3915
    @annaf3915 Год назад +9

    I'm not so concerned about the lack of space or the bunk beds. I did a lot of travelling before I had kids and stayed with lots of families and it seems to me that kids don't mind having little space or sharing their beds with siblings etc if they're used to it. When there is little space to play inside, outdoors becomes part of the home. I also used to have this romantic outlook on van life, just travelling wherever we want to go and having the kids grow up learning lots of languages and getting to know the world.
    Now I know even my 2 year old would hate it. Not because of the living conditions (they'd prefer we all sleep on the same mattress and kick eachother in the face all night) but because what they want most of all is stability. They want a monotonous, boring life with the same people and the same routine in the same place all the time.
    The whole vlogging thing is a nightmare of its own that I wasn't aware of until recently. I used to watch a few family vloggers before but now I don't want a single click of mine to be going towards these parents.

    Close quarters are not necessarily a bad thing imo as long as the living environment is stable and the children have the ability to go outside and are able to be social w other children outside of their family. These families are constantly traveling which to me doesn’t seem very sustainable long term. I don’t think it’s healthy how these people are always away from a normal home. Can we consider for a minute that just like everything in life, there’s MANY ways to do full time travel/van life/RV life?
    Can we also consider that just like everything else in this world, a lot of people are jumping to conclusions about something they really don’t know much about?
    We’ve lived full time in our RV with our 7 and 4 year old for almost a year now and it’s the best decision we’ve ever made. Our family is closer, we spend more time together, our boys have seen and experienced more in the past year than we have in our entire lives.
    Our seven year old finished his second grade curriculum early and started third grade curriculum already. Our boys are well adjusted and social with both other children and adults.
    Could they become anti social and not know how to function in society? Sure. But so could kids in typical schools who don’t have supportive families or who aren’t given opportunities.
    Every single “negative” in these comments can also apply to kids who live in houses and go to public schools, but aren’t given what they need by the people around them.
    It’s not about the material items these kids have or don’t have. It’s about the opportunities being presented to them and the intentional living which is provided by their parents.
    While building relationships with other kids their age is important, it is not the only way for a child to develop social skills and emotional intelligence. But what’s great is that you CAN have both, even with full time travel. It just looks different and that often scares people.
    Travel exposes children to different cultures, lifestyles, and ways of thinking, which helps them become more tolerant, accepting, and open-minded.
    It gives kids opportunities for adventure, independence, and self-discovery, which can boost their confidence, creativity, and resilience.
    Experiencing different environments and situations helps children learn problem-solving skills, adaptability, and resourcefulness. They learn how to navigate unfamiliar situations and develop a sense of curiosity and exploration.
    Building lifelong relationships with other kids is important, but there’s so many ways to fulfill that need, other than being forced to sit in a classroom with the same 25 kids for 180 days a year.
    Traveling and experiencing the world can also help children build meaningful relationships with people of all ages and backgrounds. They learn to communicate effectively, empathize with others, and develop a sense of community.
    People fear and knock what they don’t understand. So the same people in these comments who are most likely preaching “acceptance and tolerance” for people who choose to live some kind of “alternative” lifestyle are the same ones berating parents who live full time in their RVs and they’re forming their opinions from a few videos.

    • @eugeniaskelley5194
      @eugeniaskelley5194 Год назад

      I think a lot of the comments have to do with the living arrangements. These kids in these videos are sleeping basically in "shelving" units while the parents sleep in a queen or king bed. Where do your kids sleep? Do you have them in the master bedroom of your RV? Do you and your husband sleep on the pull-out couch. Many people have commented about having grown up this way that they can hear their parents being intimate and it isn't even the sounds the RV/trailer rocks.
