- Hi! This is a beta test of the upcoming Class Trial for CiDR. Not everything here is polished and some things are missing because of this.
So, my April Fool's joke this year was to give my Discord the link to this video. The twist was that I scrambled the URL so they had to rearrange it in order to find this. It was a fun hunt :D

As a little update, I'm gonna try to release the video sometime during the summer (probably July or August). My mental's been getting better and I wanna sink more time into working on this project again. Sorry for the long radio silence! Just know that I'm still working towards this. Hope you enjoy the short video!
I think a cool thing to add for anyone that died, their TV screen is static or a “no signal” screen. Just to add more dread/despair to the debates imo. However so far it looks really interesting and fleshed out. Im excited for the full trial!

One of the best debates idea i have ever seen, the fact that you can ask someone to clarify their testimony makes it 1000% better

interesting, so instead of constantly rotating and going around the room like a 3d circle, it instead has a bunch of TV screens moving between them for each character, I love it, this definitely fits the whole cartoon themes this danganronpa.
And removes the need to make 3d models.

This honestly works for the whole cartoon aesthetic and its looks amazing.
A possible idea is that for every victim/killer their screen could be cracked or have their equivalent of an X on it.
You'd be shocked by how man people would enjoy little nods like that, but still looks Great otherwise.
I love this way of doing the debate, as I imagine doing the 3D scoping of the Trial Room the way the games do it would be quite difficult, but the way it's done here is very fitting. I also like how Dipper can press for more information the way he does, that feels like a skill specific to Dipper, and it allows us to gain a more in-depth reason for a character's line of thinking.
This fangan honestly has one of my favorite visual designs. Everything just pops together so amazingly and visually. Having the Non-stop Debate be done on TV monitors is such a creative idea, especially in giving Dipper a remote that not only uses the Truth Bullets in it, but it seems like there's a gimmick too where you pause someone's statement that was originally just blank that as they clarify and add more, a new breakable statement shows up. I love that idea so much for a class trial gimmick! Excited to see this come to fruition.
My speculation on who the first blackened is is either Eddy or Morty.
In another hand, another mechanic that i think is going to be used with this is the return of the mass panic debates, you know, when a lot of characters are talking at the same time, whit the mechanic of pause i also expect that when dipper is questioning someone, someone else have a reaction to that statement. Kinda like the great ace attorney games.
Yeah. I could even see it being like one of those call-in telethons where whoever has something to add in the statement will "call-in" and give their comment.

Maybe the voice actress was unable to voice for the video, I mean it is still a test so it’s very likely it might be in the official deadly life
@@elinasakurayes and also one of the reasons that this proyect is a little delay is because problems with the voice actors and all that.
On the last video he stated he wanted some lines re-recorded, it's likely Mable was one of them.

I really like taking the one mechanic from DR1 and turning it into a trial mechanic! It kinda feels like something the games should have done, honestly. Only think i can say is that i think maybe an indicator should be added, like making phrases you can get clarified a different color
like green or purple

Very clever way of pressing people to elaborate on statements. Mixes Phoenix Wright style testimony with the original fast paced Danganronpa style. Kudos.
1:37 Honestly love this feature, if i were designing a DR-styled game with this it would be so theres the main path of dialogue, but you can press a button to instead focus in on a specific character's line of thought.
To prevent making gameplay too complex, you would only be able to use actual evidence in this mode (so no perjury + focus), except maybe as a feature for one of the later chapters. If that were the case, then I would say that making a mistake with perjury + focus would deal major damage to your reputation.
There would need to be something to show when you can focus (maybe purple text), and some options may lead to back routes (like if you tried focusing at 0:40, maybe you discuss why it's possible she died from one attack with the Clean Hands evidence)
I also think it would be cool if c1 has Dipper protag with just the regular counter and focus mechanics, Mabel with the counter, consent and lies in chapter 2, and then from chapter 3 onwards they work together (unless one of them dies) and can use EVERY game mechanic.
Honestly the way Dipper talks too Morty is kinda reminding me of ace attorney’s press Mechanic

Idk if this has a name yet… but maybe this could be known as “Specify” moments? Or even “Replay”?
So it looks like we may have to “pause” people in order to get more information out of them, that way we might find some contradictions that weren’t visible at first.
More convinced its Morty now with a statement like that..he of all people should know thats wrong, hes seen some stuff

omg the pause mechanic reminds me of the ace attorney "press" mechanic! That's so cool! And as a plus, the non-stop debates used to get me dizzy and this one seems really unique and less dizzy-fying!
also something cool i noticed is that after morty's statement gets countered, his screen shows the tv error screen and dipper appears to be inside the tv, but his finger extends outwards past the screen

I'm still gunning for Morty, and here he is with the teaser contradiction. Then again this could be a misdirection as surely the killer would not be given such attention in the trailer... unless it is a double bluff!

@@frangolles Not really. After all it could easily be marked off as an assumption as he tried to play it off as, and pointing out how it would be a mistaken assumption isn't enough to expose him.

@@frangolles Nah, Jenny has both an alibi as well as an inconsistencies in the evidence. It *is* her monopad in the evidence, but that is because Morty stole it while she was being operated on with Bubbles and Buttercup (the alibi). Part of the investigation uncovered that Star had been dragged, something even post-operation Jenny is strong enough not to have to deal with but is reasonable for the averagely strong Morty. Additional part of the evidence is the hair in the mask, hair which Jenny lacks but which description would fit Morty's. There are other pieces of evidence which narrow down the suspects to Morty as the absolute most likely if not certain, though I haven't quite pinned down the exact sequence of events.

But i don't know, i mean, was is even his motive? Yes a lot of evidence says that Morty is the killer, but what reason does he have? He had not hostages, the murder happened after 12 so every hostage is dead now, so what is his motive?
And also, really both characters that are the sole character of Thier show in this game dies?

The PAUSE mechanic feels like the PRESS mechanic in Ace Attorney during a cross examination
Staging the trial in a literal TV set and using a remote to engage people, almost like Dipper's trying to pick the right channel, is genius. The remote's potential for interacting with arguments is endless, I'm so hyped. I can already see Dipper turning down the volume on channels he tries to ignore in a panic debate. Keep up the good work!

The effort in all of this continues to generally surprise me, the constant cartoon theming and the way it's all put together is so visually pleasing I can't help but smile. Bravo as always!

I've been thinking, if they have changed the style of the non stop debate then would they change the closing argument? I think it would be cool if it was a story board planing thing, like when the animators are trying to animate the story use black and white clips.
either that or change the format of the panels to give it more of a comic book style, wherein the Danganronpa games follows the Manga-style right-to-left narrative, this instead uses the Comic-style left-to-right narrative,

Also I love that there’s an… I guess an extract feature where you can dive deeper into people’s assumptions before you say someone is wrong. I call it “extract” from your turn to die, but yeah it’s super cool!!

I was wondering how they were going to handle the iconic rotating backgrounds from the original series’ debates. Switching it to a set of tv monitors that Dipper can pause for contradictions is a pretty clever way to work around the limited budget and resources.

Ok so, I love the theme for the gameplay part.
Danganronpa was always about guns, truth bullets, blades and things like that.
But since this is cartoons in Danganronpa it haves a tv, cartoon theme. That the TV's is each person talking,and that dipper can actually push the "pause" button to question someone, something that was never in the games before
