Wolverine is being hunted by a group of soldiers in an urban environment. He is wearing a shredded uniform reminiscent of the costume seen in the X-Men films, indicating that this may take place in a later time.
The Wolverine is a superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Wolverine and is intended to be the sixth installment in the X-Men film series. Hugh Jackman reprises his role from previous films as the title character with James Mangold directing a screenplay written by Christopher McQuarrie, Scott Frank, and Mark Bomback, based on the 1982 limited series Wolverine by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a 2009 hack and slash action-adventure game loosely based on the film of the same name. The game release coincided with the release of the film on May 1, 2009 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Windows, Wii, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS, and PlayStation Portable. The game was developed primarily by Raven Software, who used Unreal engine technology to develop the game. Amaze Entertainment developed the Wii and PS2 ports and Griptonite Games developed the PSP and DS ports. Origins was published by Activision.
The Uncaged Edition was released for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. When Wolverine sustains injuries, chunks of his flesh and clothes are removed. His injuries heal in real-time. Origins takes influences from games such as God of War and Devil May Cry. The Uncaged version also features a large amount of blood and gore. Enemies can be dismembered in several ways in addition to the graphic display of Wolverine's healing factor.
Combat relies on three options - light attacks, heavy attacks, and grabs. Another form of attack is the lunge, which allows Wolverine to quickly close the distance to an enemy. Wolverine can also use the environment to his advantage, such as by impaling foes on spikes. During combat, Wolverine's rage meter builds up, and when full allows him to use more devastating attacks, like the claw spin and a berserker mode, which increases Wolverine's claw strength until his Rage Meter empties.
The PlayStation 2 and Wii versions are less graphic, with less language and slightly different combat. Feral senses are still obtained, which can detect doors, traps, enemies and sentinel observers. Lunges must be performed at closer distances. Experience (XP) is collected from defeating enemies, completing missions, defeating all enemies, destroying all turrets, and defeating bosses within a certain time frame. The XP is used to purchase upgrades.
The story is a combination of the Wolverine backstory explored in the film and an original plot created by Raven Software, which was influenced by major events in the X-Men comic series.

No offence to everyone. I actually liked the movie and I liked Logan even more. I've never played the game. Watching the game's intro, this is how the movie could had originally opened and it could had set the stage for X-Men: Days of Future Past. The movie opening in post apocalyptic 2023. We see Wolverine in the ruins of a city and we see Wolverine fight and kill the soldiers and we then cut to Wolverine living in Canada as a boy in 1845 and the movie ends with Wolverine back in 2023 and the Sentinel robots attack the city and Wolverine flees into the distance and goes to find the other X-Men.

One of the rare times where a movie licensed game is actually good & is better then the actual movie itself. This is how you do a proper Wolverine game.
This along with Spider-Man 2 (2004) and the first Harry Potter games (Philosopher’s Stone, Chamber Of Secrets, and Prisoner Of Azkaban) are my favorite movie licensed games
I did enjoy the Ghost Rider ps2 game more than the movie, even tho it's just a hack n slash, I loved it

This is the best wolverine game, buy it, I recommend it. The story, characters, bosses, etc are amazing. The game is called X-Men Origins Wolverine, in my opinion this game is rated 10/10

Adewale - Yes and No. Yes in regards to the violence, but no as far as in character development and insight.
In the game we see all the bloody rage and carnage Wolverine is capable of and that is always cool. But in the film, X-men Origins Wolverine, we see how the events of this point in the character's life affect him and turn him into the man we see in the later X-men films.

I wonder why we haven't gotten another Wolverine game like this sense? It ended on a cliffhanger too. They should have just set the entire game in the future without tying it into the movie. It's never too late to make a sequel. I would love an R-rated CGI Wolverine movie done in this style.

But I know there are parent organizations that would boycott Marvel saying "it's too graphic for kids" LOL. well just cater to our more adult audience, I know i'd buy it. Champ Johnson i have watched a couple interviews in the past with hugh jackman talking about making the films rated R. The conclusions where he and the directors come down to how it may change how the little kids view their hero, they dont want to change the bad ass but good willed hero they know into the ruthless killing machine that everyone knows wolverine could be. It wouldnt be a bad movie in any means but there are issues with the out come it could have on children. Obviously there are other factors why they havent released a rated R Wolverine movie as well probably due to license deals and that crap.

I liked the game alot but don't get me wrong I think this CGI cutscene is excellent but I get alot more out of the actual game than this one cutscene. Actually playing the game is more fun.

I love how their masks fall off revealing their sweaty faces. Such beautiful attention to detail. Then at the half way point when the reinforcements show up they shoot their mask-less ally laying on the floor. His sweaty face wiggling from bullets hopelessly.

Why aren't Logan's claws always bloody when he unsheathes them? He's stated that he's cutting through his hands each time he uses them, so why aren't they bloody?

He heals from it almost instantaneously, due to the fact that 1) his healing factor has had almost his whole life to adapt to unsheathing/sheathing his claws, so it does it faster, 2) the cuts are small so healing them doesn't take long, 3) Marvel have already stated this. A lot of times.

Carlos Mella-Rijo that's Daken, Wolverine's son, and the sheath is only used on Daken's middle claw. The claw is coated in the metal of the Muramasa Blade, which negates healing factors and makes it possible to kill Wolverine using the claws.
As for the silicon sheaths on other claws, I'm 100% certain no comic-book material (or otherwise) has ever stated that Logan uses sheaths for his claws.

Honestly I'm just waiting for a live action X-Men movie to be entirely set in, and actually deeply explore the future in which either sentinels win, or after apocalypse wins. Age of Apocalypse is faaaaaar more dark and chaotic than the movie was.
