30:32 Ironically Mystique is NOT wearing an outfit...you nailed it earlier when you said her hands look like they are painted blue with small prosthetics...well that is EXACTLY what Rebecca Romijn is wearing FULL BODY. Blue body paint and strategically placed prosthetics. She;s virtually nude.
I seem to recall seeing her talking about it and saying that she couldn't touch anything becuz the blue paint would rub off, and the glue was very temperature sensitive to the point that her body heat would liquefy it, so she had to be in a highly air-conditioned room and couldn't wear anything due to the blue, so she was always freezing when not doing an actual shot. She said that they just kept giving her wine to make it "not quite so bad" and that she was nearly always at least buzzed when shooting scenes as a result.
I’ve always loved X-Men. Being different from the norm, it was really cool growing up and watching the animated series and this movie♥️. Being different was a superpower and you can either become what they fear or be a hero for other outcasts and society. Ugh love the franchise.
X-Men taught me perspective when I was 5 years old. Being a little kid I thought, good bad vs bad guy. Then when I saw this it blew my 5 year old mind thinking “whaaat? The good guy and bad guy used to be friends!?!?”
lmao the crazy sounds that Kristen makes are great. And Achara's innocent dances when something happens, like reveals etc would be me showing the X-Men to someone for the first time haha
Two best friends. Known for two iconic characters. Patrick Stewart as Captain Picard and Ian McKellen as Gandalf. Playing opposite one another in their best roles.
Ian McKellen is a superb actor! He's in a great film called "Apt Pupil" (1998), which was adapted from a Stephen King novel. It stars the late Brad Renfro (who tragically died a 25), and also David Schwimmer (of 'Friends'). This is a GREAT film!!
Its so fun to see Achara nerding out! And so fun to see Kristin get introduced to so many iconic characters. X-men cartoons were my favorite as a kid so I just assume everyone these characters like they are Batman or Superman. So it’s extra fun watching someone who is blind reacting

There are others but honestly can't think of any right off the top of my head.
Jean: "She's fine. She took on a few of your more charming personality traits for a while." Logan: "Really?" Jean: "Yeah....she kept hitting on me." 😉😉
45:14 Yes. Also, I'm not sure if you know this Achara, but Stan Lee's first Marvel comic was the Fantastic Four. They were the first superheroes that were relatable. Which later gave him the idea to create Spider-Man and the X-Men. Wolverine was also once a villain. He was the Hulk's nemesis. But he eventually became a hero and join the X-Men and Avengers later on. Plus, Wolverine and Captain America both fought in World War II. Not to mention the Weapon X program Wolverine was forced to be part of is the super soldier program Captain America was in. Spider-Man and the Human Torch from the Fantastic Four are best friends in the comics. The biggest one of all, some people don't know this, but Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are actually Magento's children. That's why it was screwed up that Marvel didn't have the rights to all their characters because the MCU had to improvise majority of the stories to make sure they didn't step kn anyone studios toes. Therefore, retconning Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch's connection to Magento and so much more. Regardless, besides Spider-Man I'm so satisfied that Marvel has the rights to all their characters again!! 👏
@@markosmatrozos4175 Some people didn't know, unfortunately, because some fans who only know about the MCU didn't even know that X-Men, Blade, and the Fantastic Four were Marvel. But yeah, Magento is Scarlet Witch's biological father. Marvel retcon it because they didn't have the right's to use the mutant characters. So they changed their comicbook origin, so the twins can be in the MCU. Fortunately, their going to change it back later on! 👏

This is a great film with great performances from all the cast they really did some great casting especially Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine/Logan he made the role his own.
37:27 When Rouge touches someone, she'll develop some of their personalities temporarily... Usually overnight she's back to normal, However with Mutants she can take their powers and their personalities, BUT if she takes OVER TOO MUCH their powers become hers permanently... That's why in the Comic Books Rouge can fly like Superman and have SUPER HUMAN STRENGTH AND AGILITY... They don't show all of her progression throughout franchise and she quickly gets relegated to the back in the later movies.... But in the Comics and Cartoon series, Rouge is ONE TUFF SMEXY COUNTRY SOUTHERN GAL who can go toe to toe with the likes of SABERTOOTH AND AVALANCHE....

This was the stuff of my teenage years! I LOVED Xmen when it came out. It was such an amazing movie when it came out, perfect casting (Wolverine, Magneto, Professor X etc) too. When they reboot this franchise I wonder if it will hold up like this coz we have 3 theatre trained (2 Shakespearen at that) actors in the OG.
15:44 One of Logan's most endearing qualities is his tendency to take in "at risk" mutants. Rogue isn't one of them in the comics but he has a small family put together. He's also very good at handling people who need space because he has ALL the trauma.
34:02 Well.... The wolverine is the largest of the mustelids(which also includes badgers, honeybadgers, weasels, and otters), being the size of a medium-sized dog and can weigh up to 66 pounds. It can be found pretty much in the entire northern hemisphere on Earth, particularly in Canada, Alaska, all of Scandinavia, Siberia, Russia, North- and South-Korea, and the northern regions of China, and it's known for being fierce and incredibly strong. Their diet ranges from small critters to elk and moose, even wolves when given the chance. One wolverine even managed to kill a polar bear in a zoo by clamping its powerful jaws on the bear's throat, suffocating it. They may look fluffy and cute, until they showcase their teeth and claws, the ultimate example of "if not friend, why friend-shaped?"
@BernardAl my bad. I had Hugh confused with an iteration of Wolverine. The 'Ultimate X-Men' comic series jumped off prior to the movie and Logan, physically looked like he was in his late 20s although he was much older dued to his mutation. I assumed Hugh was around the same age.
I wish they got an actual actress. Mystique is a manipulator even in her default form. These movies gave most of her manipulation to other actors. They gave her a little more later, but she was still a silent henchman.
Yeah these girl reactors always just go with the flow😂 "Oh a politician talking about mutants? He is definitely aweful😢" Good to see people now look at all these things from everybody's pov
@@anshulshrivastava1518 While the parents are right to be worried about their children's safety, let's not pretend that the politicians aren't intentionally fanning the flames on this situation for their own purposes.
40:50 Their friendship just like in the comics is the linchpin to this entire franchise whether the movies are good or bad. There's a reason Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan are beloved by millions of fans less than half their age. It's these characters.
Which was a missed opportunity here to not have a full power set Rogue who’s in her mid to late twenties. Plenty of other characters they could have played opposite Logan. Yes, that would have meant changing the overall story but there are plenty to adapt from the comics.
To go along with Kristen's question of how many are there, I do wish the main team had a bigger roster like either 90s TAS or Evolution. At least it gradually built up through the movies. 8:06, I swear Achara's reactions like that are adorable.
*Fun fact;* Canonically in the comics, At a time when Rogue had joined Magnetos group, The Brotherhood (Of Evil Mutants), she was in a battle with (Carol Danvers) Captain Marvel, and permanently absorbed all of her super strength, and most of her flying ability, putting Captain Marvel into a long term coma. (effectively taking Carol's superman like O.P abilities out of the equation, for many years. Taking care of the whole, "why bother to send anybody else into the fight, when you have her"? issue) And from then on, Rogue was able to actually be a fighter in the stories, instead of hanging back, hoping for a chance to be able to touch someone 😁😎 (maybe the MCU will use that plotline some day😆)
37:20 how long Rogue retains someone’s powers is entirely dependant on a variety of factors, but the main one is how long she holds onto them. In the Comics she held onto Ms.Marvel (now known as Captain Marvel) for so long that she PERMANENTLY gained the ability to fly and had Marvels super strength alongside her regular mutant power to absorb other superpowers. Rogue may not be a world ending threat like say Iceman, Magneto or Phoenix may be in the right circumstances, but she is a powerhouse of a mutant if she acquires the right powers.
7:53 SPOILER In case no one knows or remembers Sabertooth and Wolverine are brothers, in the Wolverine movie its explained and after he got shot in the head toward the end with a special bullet his memory was erased where he even forgot that he was married where he lost his wife as well as the people he saved and the memory of his brother …Im not sure if Sabertooth remembers him or not.
31:53 The line does seem stupid because it feels so out of nowhere but what I've heard is that originally Toad constantly quipped about the capabilities of well toads so Storm's line was her somewhat mocking him but they cut his toad lines.
Previously unknown Hugh Jackman, essentially a theatre musical actor, became an instant movie star here. He's so good as is the entire cast lead by the great Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen.

"What's your mutation, Senator Kelly?"
"Becoming a waterbed"
Ouch!
😅
Yikes! 😭😂
lmao the crazy sounds that Kristen makes are great.
Patrick Stewart furrows his brows at Kristen...
😂
Ian McKellen is a superb actor! He's in a great film called "Apt Pupil" (1998), which was adapted from a Stephen King novel. It stars the late Brad Renfro (who tragically died a 25), and also David Schwimmer (of 'Friends'). This is a GREAT film!!
Its so fun to see Achara nerding out! And so fun to see Kristin get introduced to so many iconic characters. X-men cartoons were my favorite as a kid so I just assume everyone these characters like they are Batman or Superman. So it’s extra fun watching someone who is blind reacting
I love the way Kristen reacts to everything she watches. Her reaction is so pure and she gets soo excited to watch new stuff
Lovely
Welcome back, Kristen! And I love the hair 💯🔥🔥
The "wheels" moment always makes me laugh. Fuc++++ Wolverine haha.
21:00 The train station is Liuana Railway Station in Hamilton, ON...my hometown. I am one of the extras outside that watch the roof get blown off. A few years later, I met Ray Park (Toad) at ComicCon and we had a nice long chat about this scene. When I was about to pay him for the pictures we took together and his autograph for his OTHER role on a Darth Maul Action Figure, he told me, "Ahh don't worry about it, it's on me. We co-stars have to stick together, right?"
Legend!
30:15-It was hardened over her face so she couldn't breathe. As for 30:54-He is able to control how much energy with the visor, he uses a low setting, enough to free Jean
Woah at 17:12. I know who that is. In the Quiet on Set documentary we learned about him. Brian Peck is in the Stan Lee cameo! Dude!
Mystique is one of my favourite mutants. You should watch the other X-men movies, she's a badass. 😉
Only badass when she IS played by Rebecca Romjin...
Trash when its Jennifer Lawrence
Childhood movie right here next to Spider-Man.
12:55 Actually he has two mutations. The bone claws and the healing. The metal was just put over the claws but those are actually his. There are other mutants that have dual mutations. Like Emma Frost. She can read minds like Charles but she also has the ability to turn into diamond. Not just her skin literally all of her. There are others but honestly can't think of any right off the top of my head.
10:33, these movies really do Cyclops a disservice. He is the first X-Man and practically like Captain America for the mutant community.
Jean: "She's fine. She took on a few of your more charming personality traits for a while."
Logan: "Really?"
Jean: "Yeah....she kept hitting on me." 😉😉
😂
17:07 RIP Stan Lee! 🙏🏽💪
The scarlet witch and magneto thing is pretty known, I think, but even people who know it, don't know Magneto isn't their biological father
@@markosmatrozos4175
Some people didn't know, unfortunately, because some fans who only know about the MCU didn't even know that X-Men, Blade, and the Fantastic Four were Marvel. But yeah, Magento is Scarlet Witch's biological father. Marvel retcon it because they didn't have the right's to use the mutant characters. So they changed their comicbook origin, so the twins can be in the MCU. Fortunately, their going to change it back later on! 👏
@@marcellousnguyen187 💪
When iconic scenes and dialogues are missed because your friend just can’t stop talking over.
This is where the fun begins!!!! Despite this film not being 100% comic, it's still an awesome movie! Also fun fact: This movie is one of the first Marvel films, Kevin Fiege was the producer! Look at him now! 🙏🏽💪
Welcome to the X-men Family
Watched a few reactions, first I just love Kristen's laugh, just awesome. Great work guys and both of you were awesome in Love Punch Kill.
Great reaction, this is the best version of Xmen imo. sucker for the OGs. cheers🤘
To this day i always wondered if that whole move with the staff by Toad was a nod to the fact it's Ray Park who plays him and Darth Maul or it's just a coincidence...
Has to be intentional
It was
The actor playing Toad is Ray Park. He played Darth Maul and does all the action scenes in Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow as the Headless Horseman.
0:08 Yikes! Love you two's energy! 😂💪
This movie was the start of something great but also bittersweet. I'm glad it made X-Men mainstream but also absolutely destroyed the publics perception of many characters on film that are finally getting the respect they deserve in X-Men 97.
I absolutely love watching you two do reactions ❤😍 You give off bestie vibes that make it fun and funny. Do lots more movies 🥰 (this was my favorite so far, BTW 👍)
Achara and kristen are they greatest reaction duo. Love ur vids! ❤
I hope you guys keep going! The X-men franchise has great gems in there, X2 is an amazing movie!
This is a great film with great performances from all the cast they really did some great casting especially Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine/Logan he made the role his own.
One of my favorites from the comic to the screen. Such a great series. Glad you are reacting to it.
I'm going to make a Soundboard filling it with the noises Kristen makes. Best seller!
Love these movies some are far superior to others but Sir Patrick Stewart,Sir Ian Mckellan and Hugh Jackman were born to play Professor Xavier,Magneto and Wolverine so many great quotes "why do you ask questions to which you already knlw the answers" "I'm looking for hope" "Does it hurt when they come out? Everytime" "I feel a great swell of pity for the poor soul who comes to that school looking for trouble"Love how excited Achara was during this movie especially when Cyclops turned up bouncing up and down hehe. Oh my god Kristen getting electrocuted at 7.50 hahaha 🤣🤣also Kristens giggle fits are my favourite things instantly brightens my day🤣great feaction guys so hyped for your journey through these movies😊
4:22 The man is the voice actor of Beast in the animated 90s series ;)
My stars and garters!
I love the energy and excitement Kristen has and Achara u don’t forget a thing u remember each and everything tiny detail just with a glance u grasp it I love watching u both react ❤ I see the movie not in PIP but through ur eyes. A bing Fan of Cinedesi and Cinipals from 🇮🇳 India
Finally! That's what happens, Kristen, when you talk while trying to watch a movie! You miss things. A simple solution - just press Pause.
Also, well done, editor!
This map in the X-Men jet is wakanda technology !😮
15:44 One of Logan's most endearing qualities is his tendency to take in "at risk" mutants. Rogue isn't one of them in the comics but he has a small family put together. He's also very good at handling people who need space because he has ALL the trauma.
I’m glad Kristen is watching the X-men movies! This is going to be a fun journey!☺️
34:02
Well....
I've ALWAYS been an X-men fan since I was a little kid! Storm and Rogue were my faves!
3:48 How do i train myself to be another species 🤣🤣🤣
Hugh Jackman is younger than me in this movie. That's crazy.
@BernardAl my bad.
I had Hugh confused with an iteration of Wolverine.
The 'Ultimate X-Men' comic series jumped off prior to the movie and Logan, physically looked like he was in his late 20s although he was much older dued to his mutation.
I assumed Hugh was around the same age.
I remember meeting Tyler, who played sabertooth. Guy is huge!
Awesome reaction of my favorite X-Men movie!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊
christen is like the child watching something awesome in this one😂
27:23 Mystique is low-key the MVP of the first 3 movies 🔥 IMO
I wish they got an actual actress. Mystique is a manipulator even in her default form. These movies gave most of her manipulation to other actors. They gave her a little more later, but she was still a silent henchman.
imagine sending your kids to a school with a kid that can explode like a nuclear bomb when he gets angry....sure send your kids there.
People don't want children bringing guns to school, but what happens if the child IS the gun?
@@LuckySmurf exatcly
Yeah these girl reactors always just go with the flow😂
"Oh a politician talking about mutants? He is definitely aweful😢"
Good to see people now look at all these things from everybody's pov
@@anshulshrivastava1518 While the parents are right to be worried about their children's safety, let's not pretend that the politicians aren't intentionally fanning the flames on this situation for their own purposes.
At this point, Kristen getting jump scared is the greatest thing on the internet🤣🤣🤣🤣
before metal claws he had natural bone claws
40:50 Their friendship just like in the comics is the linchpin to this entire franchise whether the movies are good or bad. There's a reason Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan are beloved by millions of fans less than half their age. It's these characters.
Fun Fact: Rogue gets powers from Ms.Marvel 💡👍
Carol Danvers' Ms. Marvel for those who are confused.
*Fun fact;*
Canonically in the comics, At a time when Rogue had joined Magnetos group, The Brotherhood (Of Evil Mutants), she was in a battle with (Carol Danvers) Captain Marvel, and permanently absorbed all of her super strength, and most of her flying ability, putting Captain Marvel into a long term coma.
(effectively taking Carol's superman like O.P abilities out of the equation, for many years.
Taking care of the whole, "why bother to send anybody else into the fight, when you have her"? issue)
And from then on, Rogue was able to actually be a fighter in the stories, instead of hanging back, hoping for a chance to be able to touch someone 😁😎 (maybe the MCU will use that plotline some day😆)
It was mystique running the brotherhood when rogue was there. She also managed to handle the avengers pretty well prior to get ms marvels powers
Go Kristen, catch up! Lots to enjoy! Thanks for sharing your journey in all movies!
You guys are the best reaction pair
37:20 how long Rogue retains someone’s powers is entirely dependant on a variety of factors, but the main one is how long she holds onto them.
In the Comics she held onto Ms.Marvel (now known as Captain Marvel) for so long that she PERMANENTLY gained the ability to fly and had Marvels super strength alongside her regular mutant power to absorb other superpowers.
Rogue may not be a world ending threat like say Iceman, Magneto or Phoenix may be in the right circumstances, but she is a powerhouse of a mutant if she acquires the right powers.
8:38
That “pretty lady” could tear Logan apart with a thought. And don’t get me started on how sexist that comment was, either.
38:30 considering the director it's wild that Wolverine responds like a normal-ass adult to being told an underage girl has a crush on him.
This is where the fun begins.
36:46 this is really 0 to 100 in a second 😂
7:53 SPOILER In case no one knows or remembers Sabertooth and Wolverine are brothers, in the Wolverine movie its explained and after he got shot in the head toward the end with a special bullet his memory was erased where he even forgot that he was married where he lost his wife as well as the people he saved and the memory of his brother …Im not sure if Sabertooth remembers him or not.
Kristen's hair looks so beautiful 😍
38:54 Continuity error: REMEMBER the jacket Logan is wearing in this scene. I'll tell you about the error in a later reaction.
31:53 The line does seem stupid because it feels so out of nowhere but what I've heard is that originally Toad constantly quipped about the capabilities of well toads so Storm's line was her somewhat mocking him but they cut his toad lines.
Fantastic reaction, REALLY looking forward to the sequel's reaction!
25:54 When I saw this scene as a kid, I was terrified. 😭😂
Same! 😂
I remember watching this film new at the theater. It has aged well and these X films are nice counterpoints to the MCU films.
