    Great review. Cost me some money though. I watched it then I took your advice and went out and shot a D34. My shop only had one with 60# limbs in Ridge Reaper though so I had to have them put in an order. D34 Blackout with 65# limbs. My Faktor Turbo is about to become my emergency spare. Never thought that would happen!

    Good review on the 30 and 34! Thanks for using a variety of arrows weights when shooting the chrono. Looking forward to the defiant turbo review and how the cams compare. Thx

    Just keep in mind everyone that Hoyt has updated the original dfx cam to a 2.1 version for 17 due to all the tuning issues with original. Wouldn't touch one with a 10 ft pole if it didn't have the newer cam.

    absolutely love your videos mate, I am currently looking at an upgrade, and have narrowed it down to hoyt defiant 34 non carbon!
    Mathems halon 7, mathews htx no cam and bear BR33.
    have you tried the BR33??
    do you think the hoyt is smoother draw than the mathews?

      +Joe Carnevale i have not gotten the chance to shoot the new bears i need too. i wont be able to make a review on the bears since we do not carry bear in the shop but ill get one shot and be able to give you my opinion its shot cycle. i do not think you will be disappointed with the hoyt or mathews.
      I personally am amazed at the defiants and Halons they are so smooth. i shot the halon 6 and 7 and grouped great it was super smooth drawing and quit while still giving great speed for good KE. The Halon i Personally feel is alot smoother then the halon x as well and faster the Hoyts are even smoother drawing at least with the dfx cam then the mathews but there is a little difference in speed between the halon 6 and defiant 31. which speed is not everything . Lol Thanks for the review Buddy! hope it helps !

    My Hoyt Defiant 34 rattles at the bottom cam and vibrates when I shoot it. I bought it used and Im gonna put limbsavers on it but can anyone offer insight on the rattling bottom cam? I made sure everything was tight and when that didnt work I took off the module and draw stop. Still rattled. Its probably an axle problem. Should I just take it into the shop?

    such good review, I just wonder are you using the TruFire Chicken Wing release? because I saw two finger trigger. How about that? I am really think go get one. Other question after I read you reply, Tommy hogg or Fast eddie? I just concerned about the opening gear on Fast eddie. Thanks

      I do shoot the Chicken wing i have this last year and really like it! helps keep my hand relaxed and keeps me using all my fingers as a unit since all nerves work together. example close one finger all the others around it flex and want to close that happens on a single index release as well most people hold onto release shaft and squeeze trigger this creates torque on the rudder of the arrow. i relax all fingers and come onto trigger with all fingers as one unit and gently squeeze.

    Was there any problem with cam lean on this bow? I've seen a couple videos showing some crazy cam lean. Could this just be solved through proper tuning? If so, how? Thanks!

    • @travthetrainer22
      @travthetrainer22  8 лет назад

      +Mitch Powers The cams do have some lean to them but they are tuned properly for the most part from the factory. we look at every bow before we sell it and make sure that the cam timing is correct. when paper tuning we tune the bow to the shooter so this takes some yolk tuning which puts some lean into the cams. all the ones that we have set up have had a little lean but not overly. hope that helps if it has a lot of lean it could be set up wrong as well.

    Have you gotten to shoot the Carbon 34 yet?

    • @travthetrainer22
      @travthetrainer22  8 лет назад

      +Aaron Hanagata I shot it when our Hoyt Rep was in the shop its is a super sweet shooting bow quit and smooth. i was debating between the carbon 34" with 80lbs or the turbo. the 34" will be the better shooting bow for most guys because of the forgiveness of 7" brace and the smoothness of the bow.

      +Travis Smith What's your guys estimate delivery for a carbon 34? I'm hearing in the forums that it's March/April. Yikes!

      +Travis Smith looked familiar from other videos, question for you if you don't mind me asking? I'm getting a new sight and can't decide between a 1 pin or 5 pin slider, can you give me a quick pro/con or personal choice and why? Anything would be appreciated

    • @travthetrainer22

      yes I have shot a single pin hog father sight for the last three years. I really like the fact of focusing on the one pin picking a fine point and executing my shot. in the past with fixed pins I would range find animal then draw back and double or triple check my pin count so if it was 50 yard shot id count 20,30,40,50 just to make sure I had the right pin. with the single pin its easy to just range adjust your pin and shoot. having said that practical hunting application a single pin has caused me to miss opportunity on occasion. I have gotten to the point where I walk around hunting with my sight set at 30 yards that way 20-30 yards I can make a shot without having to move my pin and I made two little white out references on my single pin for 40 and 50 yards. I would probably suggest a 3-5 pin mover over the single pin I just purchased a 3 pin hog father that I will set up similar prolly 30 40 and 50 yards for my fixed pin then ill use the bottom pin as the mover. that way you have a good working range and you still have the ability to roll out to 80-100 and shoot 3d. I would suggest looking into spot hogg tommy hog or hog father for multi pin mover as well as Montana Blacks Gold.
      single pin again hog father or fast eddy fast eddy is a lot lighter and you can also get the double pin option which seems to be about 15-20 yards on most bows so if you had it set at 20 yards ur double pin would be 38-40 yards. hope that helps!

      wow wealth of knowledge for sure, I haven't owned a bow or shot in 10 years and finally decided its time to get back in the game. all great info, I have mostly been looking into spott hogg, MBG and CBE so its good to know I'm in the right place. Thanks for taking the time to respond like you did, I appreciate it and it helps for sure!
