For a very long time now, I've recommended going for football boots with a natural leather upper over synthetic, particularly when it comes to budget friendly football boots. Why? Well, even less premium leather uppers will typically offer a softer and better feel for the ball than cheap synthetics. With my top recommendation for almost 2 years now, being the $75 Nike Tiempo Legend 9 Academy. Well, we now have it's replacement, and they're no longer leather!
In today's video we take a closer look at the new Nike Tiempo Legend 10 Academy, boots that have seen a $5 price increase, and just like the rest of the Tiempo line up, have transitioned from being natural leather, to full synthetic! This of course begs the question, have Nike ruined arguably the best budget friendly football boots? Or have they actually made something even better? We discuss the good and the bad, as we breakdown what is a surprisingly high quality package in the Legend 10 Academy! They might not be natural leather, but I think these will fool a lot people!

@@yefersonmemo9981 no gripknit which is the selling point of the GX line. I currently have em, it's not even a worse version of gripknit made with cheaper yarns or maybe just not coated with the sticky substance, it's a nikeskin upper that has none to very unnoticeable grip on the ball. I've also found they tend to hurt my feet after a while. For a line which has a main selling point of grip it's a complete joke.

initially I though they will use kangalite on top end, and use calfskin/grain leather at takedowns, they really left leather for good :)
It’s really nice. But I’m more of a copa guy. I love how they take the shape of my foot.
The velvetty lining on the i side is great. And they dont feel bulky at all

Adidas take note...cause they've been making shity take down cleats for so long, like everytime the same issues. Josh keeps saying it. Especially the fit of them. 🙄

I just got a pair of these so I'll give an update after how much time I have used it for
First impression: very comfortable easiest break in that I've ever had with football boots but the material around the edge of the tongue is kinda uncomfortable, will go for my first training in these tomorrow and I'll give an update
Update: these were really comfortable in training, they're meant to be multi-ground boots and wore them on firm grass, My ankles did hurt a bit after training but I bought 1/2 size bigger than my regular shoe size. Held up well
So did u feel better with perfect sizing or sizing up 1/2 ?

How is the feel and touch on the ball ? Is it more like a "barefoot speed boot" type or more of a "leather cushioned traditional boot" type ?
Picked up a pair in the Peak Ready colourway as a switch up to my Phantom GX Elite AG. As stated, if you told me that these were pros or elites, I wouldn't question you. Ridiculously good value for money.
which one should i get, the legend 9 academy or legend 10 academy? the former is 10 dollar cheaper
Had a pair of these in Orange for less than a month, wore them for 2 matches and 3 training sessions. I liked them in general but one of the studs broke off, contemplating getting another pair but worried it'll run the same issues

they are really nice and look very comfortable. Which do you recommend between Tiempo Legend 10 and Phantom GX? which of these 2 are more comfortable and good for AG fields and against ankle injuries?
Tiempo is more durable and good for every position but if you want to experience something majorly different, and have a sock like feeling on your feet go for gx
Great review thanks. I'm buying new astro boots for the first time in 10 years. I'm replacing some ctr 360 that have been great boots, but the new ones just don't feel as well made or as good quality. Hoping these Teimpo will be up to the job. I bought the entry level ones the other day and they are terrible and so will be returned.
You were using CTR 360 till now ? How regularly do you play ?

Pretty please make a new video rounding up the most comfortable boots on the market as I keep getting a lot of pain on the ball of my foot and a video showing the best ones would be a massive help as most videos on this topic are outdated.
I think in the conclusion of the video(reviewing and comparing boots) you should say that how many points out of ten you give to each shoes in your opinion.

Always found my leather Tiempos broke down quicker on AG pitches. Interested to see if the synthetic is more durable….
Just ordered these in Guava ice for $56! I play as a left winger but wanted to give these a try cause of the price and I’ve seen good reviews so I’ll be back with an update soon!

@@siddheshff8534 My order had got canceled due to them not having my size.. took that as a sign and got some Pumas Ultra Pro pursuit pack instead for 65 total! These Pumas pro have more of a structure feel to it than a academy boot in my opinion steal deal on my end!

hi would MG F50 League's have a wider toe box than these, I got a pair today and they feel too narrow for me unlike my Tiempo 9s
How do these compare to the Copa .3's? Both look amazing and the copas are great from my experience but these look so good in and around the same price.
Copa .3 have real leather in the upper, I've tried the tiempo 10 and I personally found them tighter and uncomfortable.

I wouldn't think so. The legend 9 academy is pretty good at $75 and it kept the leather upper too
I'm on my 2nd pair of Academy tiempo legend 9 mg boots and only wore them twice on ag and already separating from the soleplate, I've got the academy tiempo 10s now so hoping the durability is better
The store I went to had some tiempo 9 and 10. And I personally went with the 9 academy. They were stretching while I was walking around the store. The 10 were to tight and no stretch
@@johnathangrimes5414 yeah when they see mg that dont mean much since the stud pattern is the exact same as the fg. Ive been wearing mine on actual grass for a good while now and theyre perfectly fine

Why should one consider the pros and not academy, other than the weight of course?
It has a one piece upper (wich its not that big of a deal), depends of your liking if you want a more modern boot or an old school one.

They changed the toe box which every Tiempo owners HATE ! not so much about not using leather but the idiots actually changed the shape to the point that they are unwearable to Real Tiempo owners
I had the same experience. I don’t know which boot to get now. Adidas is also narrow in the toe box
