How i wish this video could be posted daily in all the Bahnhof TV, the German youths must have a clear concept, that all they see today didn't come free, parents and grandparents gave their life and hard work for this. The greatest responsibility of the present is to increase, manage and preserve all of these heritages.
What fascinates me is that the narrator had the same excited, dramatic, urgent voice that you heard during the _Die Deutsche Wochenschau_ weekly German newsreels from before and during the war.
Nice propaganda movie. In fact, many railway lines in Germany were not reconstructed, but dismantled in 1946. The aim was to weaken German industry as much as possible and exploit the country by transferring goods - including rail tracks and whole factory equipment - out of the country.
