We went to a Kia dealership here in Raleigh, NC to see if they had a good lease deal on an EV6. They couldn't give me a number without pulling my credit which was annoying, and it ended up being over $300/month plus $4000 for two years on a base model with the bigger battery. I wasn't too impressed with the test drive but even less impressed with the transparency and dealer experience.
I don't know what's going on in NC! I am EV shopping for my mom, and it's been hell trying to get anything done without them first running her credit. Here in New England, I've done all negotiations and price checking before any credit checks.
In case you haven't not researched the RUclips video on leasing, I saw one last night with pretty good leasing formula for pre dealship visit. Usual time in dealership is 3 hours 😢 unless you have the formula presented to them day's ago
Video headline should include "Crazy Deals in Colorado Only" -- the deals you mention are unsustainable, so it should come as no surprise to anyone that they won't last forever. However, the larger issue at play is what the incoming administration will or won't do to the IRA. The uncertainty that will come about after January 1 (when the tax laws are up for change in any way before you can file your taxes for the 2024 tax year) will have an impact, not only on the EV industry but also the solar industry. 2025 is going to be a turbulent year...
I agree, they always focus on the monthly cost as if that first 2000$ is pocket money. Also, 10k miles a year? My leases are either 15k or 18,5k miles and I'm usually somewhere in between. And that's with 2 days working from home. 10k is really low...
Thanks Kyle :) In my country, Spain, now we have some subscription programs that are similar to leasing, but this one actually includes the insurance and everything. They are of course more expensive, around mid 500€ range (and you can change vehicle every 6 months), but at least it is better than trying to finance those overpriced EVs.
For non-luxury, price is king, always has been. Every country that has cut EV subsidies has seen sales drastically decline. And Elon is smoking something if he thinks it won't affect Tesla. Recent survey just found that incentives were one of the top factors for people buying a Tesla. 95% of Tesla sales are Model 3 and Y and in that price range consumers are generally cost conscious. Tesla doesn't have a $30k EV without incentives. Companies like GM with $35k Equinox and soon $30k or less Bolt, and Hyundai/Kia with Kona/Niro/EV3 at $30-$35k will be in a good spot to take advantage of the loss of the tax credit.
Well maybe the manufacturers will be forced to build more economic cars overall. The average working person can’t afford a $40,000 stripped down car these days and most cars are unreliable. Also if you rent charging is not convenient
Yeah the prices listed on the EV9 & EV6 seem almost reasonable now. I want cheap and efficient, AWD A -> B transport... that's it. It'll be 15-20 years once the kids are matured before we'll be able to afford anything "nice", especially if nothing happens with student loans... literally my wife and I could each buy a new car cash if we had that much $$
You should do a video on what the best deal under $25000 is in used EVs. I'm planning on buying a 2023 MY in January right before the new administration comes in. I'm torn between the options. Ariya, C40, and Ioniq 6 (if you can find one for under$25k) will all be eligible once Jan 1 rolls around. There are numerous Ariyas(not just the base, but the "+" long range trims) and a few C40s around me already under $25k. Plus Mach-E, id.4, XC40, and even a few ioniq 5s.
loved the information on these cars, the low car payment leases is unbelievable, wow, i'm locked into a 24 month lease on my present ice car, next one will be ev, unfortunately the price is going to be increased then, thanks Kyle
I have been waiting for the Cadillac Optiq for a long time. I hope to purchase, not lease it. But without the $7500 tax credit, that would be a deal breaker for me because EV’s depreciate too much.
It's my understanding that the $7,500 federal EV tax credit can't be axed unless it passes through the senate, which is less likely. But if it does get axed, this will put the US significantly behind other nations in the ICE to EV transition. Will be interesting to see what happens!
Republicans control the senate and when the program that kicked off the tax credit was passed, all Republican voted against it. I see no reason why they would suddenly vote to keep it this time around. Elon is in favor of removing it, so I see it as guaranteed not to survive the end of 2025.

I've heard the same, but all they need to do is include it in a reconciliation bill, which I hear only needs a simple majority (50 votes, with a tie broken by the vice president).
@@ianrob4760 hmm idk about that. Gas cars (ICE) depreciate much slower, have superior range, take no time to fuel up, don't require any special home equipment (charge at home), and ICE still has better build quality (vs say Tesla), repairs and bodywork is quicker and cheaper for ICE. I want a Tesla but know financially I'm still better off with a Honda/Toyota.

to be honest, I am pro EV but it is kinda ridiculous that the combined incentives from federal and state of CO are enough to get a $73k EV for a couple hundred bucks a month...
My question is if the reduction in electric vehicle sales will cause the EV infrastructure to once again start falling apart with less funding and less oversight...
My bet is yes. If the government money dries up, there's no real incentive (outside of high EV penetration areas) to install or maintain chargers, just like we saw a few years ago. Where I live, Tesla is still the only game in town, the state had a (kinda shitty) plan to install charging infrastructure along the highway system under thanks to the infrastructure bill, but if that goes, that plan is getting axed ASAP, ain't no way the state is paying for it with only like 1,500 EV registrations in the past 2 years
I wonder how sales will go if the products actually had to compete on price/value. In Canada the EV rebates are only on vehicles up to a certain price depending on their class (car or SUV/truck). This makes some pretty strange skew in the market. As an example in my area, after taxes and fees an EV9 AWD is close to 30K cheaper than an ID.Buzz AWD thanks to the ID.Buzz being too expensive as a base price sonitbdoesn't qualify for any rebate but the EV9 has a cheap base model that badically no one buys so some of the upper models get 10k off in government cheese.
That's how it works in the US too, there is a maximum price cap if the vehicle is an SUV or truck vs a car. Of course that's on top of assembly location and material/parts sourcing
Don’t you think that is the real price as manufacturers promise back in the days when they started their journey to EV?! I remember when they announced cheaper in production and use and maintenance…
I believe it’s quite the opposite. That EV credit is a major reason for why they are even selling. An EV lease has been the best way to get out of negative equity on an ICE car. But lacking incentives means less sales, which means prices will come down due to lack of demand. I did get a couple of GV70s and got 18.5k off each one. But I think they will be crushed in price points. Also the used ones will crumble even more
Nah, they will just stop shipping them to the US market. Every country has a bunch of cars we can't get in the US because of our SUV obsession. Just add EVs to the list.
@ but they are already here that’s the issue. The supply chain doesn’t just stop at the drop of a hat. Contracts are in place and even if only a couple million sell per year, it’s not enough to call it quits. Plus the EV credit isn’t going anywhere. It’s signed into law until 2032. Very seldom are laws repealed from president to president. Elon doesn’t want that credit to go away either.
@@TheSonyExperience here is the problem I have with the manufacturers pushing the ev's the way they have eventually they will have to let go of the tax credits what should have happened is that instead of making expensive Ford lightnings they should have made a competitor to the equinox as there first ev something that will sell well not be crazy expensive then once they sell enough and trust me it would have sold well then they can bring out the Ford lightning
I was initially running out to lease another EV before year end. As I looked into it more it is likely that the EV lease loophole will be in place until 12/31/25. It is also likely that the tax credit for US produced EVs with US produced batteries will remain intact. There are a significant number of Republican House members who have or are having multi billion dollars EV/Battery factories built in their district. It is bad politics to vote for legislation that goes against some of the largest employers in your district. Kia / Hyundai will likely be safe as their production for batteries and cars is shifting to the US is 2025 and they will no longer need to depend on the lease loophole for tax credits.
If incentives are lost and dealers can’t sell next year, that’s good for the consumer. They’ll have to lower prices which means either the same or better deals next year. Losing incentives is good for consumers who can wait. Losing incentives is bad for the dealers.
If the tax credit goes away, guess what happens? Nothing, the free market will dictate that these cars are not worth their MSRP. Dealers and manufacturers will have to adjust the price accordingly.
That EV9 will actually end up costing you $432/mo when you add in the $2,000 out of pocket. With a lease, you're effectively renting a vehicle and get nothing out of it as the end of the lease terms. If that works for you, go for it. However, for most people leasing isn't necessarily the best option. Something to consider if the tax credit does go away (which I doubt it will - as it will more likely be modified), is that there could be a bunch of EVs that prices will be significantly reduced by dealers in order to move them... PS: The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) screwed up the EV tax credit as much as anything has. Vehicles and individuals (or couples) that had previously qualified for the tax credit no longer did after the IRA was enacted. That's why so many EV brands (like Kia) started offering lease deals. The dealership qualifies for the credit when leasing, but the individual doesn't qualify when buying. What a load of crap!
#KiaEV9 made in the US Georgia better to buy if ypur in #Colorado $7500 US rebate $5300 state rebate 10,000 mile yearly lease is a joke 100 percent first uear write off if your using the vehicle for business
You can thank the person that Kyle and his entire family voted for. They are hardcore MAGA and voted for Trump. They are literally the reason the tax credit and tariffs are coming.
As far as I know, Kyle is not political and never expressed any particular candidate. The only thing he's said in podcasts is he does not believe in financial EV incentives at all. Take that for what you will.
Yeah but this is a good service he’s doing. Good chance dealers in other states will have to do the same thing, if you are in the market now is the time to move.
He is running out of ideas for videos (see another video he posted) so now Ads for Dealers are the new thing. So sorry to see the channel go this route. It provided a lot of information before I bought my Tesla. Now it's only useless cross-country races 3 hour long videos and Ads for EVs in Colorado.

Whether EV Federal programs continue is in question. What will not be in question is the continued socialism benefitting the oil industry with direct drilling subsidies, huge tax breaks no other industry can claim, and free US Military escorts through dangerous areas. The massive hypocrisy of those who decry EV tax credits but are still all-in on Oil industry socialism will continue.
Wow! Unbelievable deals of course. I've sent them to my buddy in Colorado, but he's already driving the Hyundai Ionic 5 and I think I'm going to hang on to my Volkswagen ID.4 because it sounds like it may actually increase in value with what's about to happen in the market if your predictions are correct. Thanks for the review. God bless!
You say you're not sponsored, but you should getting a kickback on each one lol. You CO taxpayers should be rioting paying for all these car purchases.
Should gas vehicles have not taken off, and we should have stayed with horses and carts? That also needed infrastructure built, but look at where we stand today...
You say they're not paying you but boy this is starting to sound awful stinky. Your EV opinion appears to be one-sided, and one state favorable. How about you step back and actually look at your channel from my public viewpoint.
Fact is, the lease deals are because the cars are not selling, they’re overpriced and piling up on dealer lots. Just look at the Cybertruk. The $7500 tax credit should go away.
I think you're wrong in your rationale but ultimately agree with you that the credit needs to go. TESLAs aren't sitting but compliance Chevy and Nissan EV's are definitely sitting on lots.
Truth be told, we should join what most developed countries do. Tax ICE cars more, waive the tax on the EVs. Build infrastructure to better support the EV charging needs. Then, much like many European countries, EVs will surpass sales of ICE by 3-5 X’s.
Your "cash only" view on car buying overlooks key financial realities. When I invest my money instead of using it all on a car, I can potentially earn higher returns while making low-interest payments. Many of us need reliable cars for work but don't have $30,000 sitting around. Loans and leases make this possible. Business owners often benefit from tax advantages of financing, and it helps maintain cash flow rather than depleting capital. Plus, using all available cash on a car leaves you vulnerable to emergencies.
Dealerships are blowing it. They should morph into “Transportation Hubs.” What is a transportation hub? It’s a campus that facilitates EVERY aspect of tomorrow’s transportation; from charging to sales, service, TRAINING, logistics of ALL THINGS battery on behalf of OEMs and customers AND EVEN local utilities. They should invest in MEGA solar, BSS etc. They are blowing it and they are ALL going to get burned if they DON’T adapt in this way. Guaranteed💯
I was just in New Mexico a month ago and they said that they had some awesome incentives. Also, I was in Alamogordo and actually talked to the dealer in case anybody’s in that area. 🫶🏻🔌
Insane lease deals... If you live in CO. Not many states have these insane deals.
CO is the only state with these incentives actually. In AZ, a KIA EV6 with $50,000 MSRP will cost you $700/mo on a lease.

Prius is the best compromise for now until battery prices drop substantially
I love it if fed tax credit go away no one will buy or lease Evs and ev market will collapse then dealers will get more aggressive to get rid of Evs
They cannot cram in negative equity for a good price. Only a good deal for a fresh buyer.
EV subsidies will be the first to go after Jan 20. Get a deal RN.
Myrtle Beach Kia marks up everything 4000 dollars even the 22000 dollar entry level
@@davidgiles9751 you can buy it out, often at a discount. That’s ridiculous thinking. 🤔
#KiaEV9 made in the US Georgia better to buy if ypur in #Colorado $7500 US rebate $5300 state rebate 10,000 mile yearly lease is a joke 100 percent first uear write off if your using the vehicle for business
Even with all the threatening I don’t think the EV tax credit is going away. That’s just my opinion, and I hope I’m right, but we’ll see.
Once lease prices go up, all dealership will hav lots full of un saleable ev's, so sad ! Gr8 job 2 r government
Im confused on who is paying for the car at these deals
What’s the deal like if you live out of state?
Unless you live in Norway stick to regular cars.
EV's will have to be competitive in their own right. What a shame.
7:40 lol GOOD NEWS
anyone else not a fan of the 90 second commercial to start the video?
I'm a fan of the content I don't have to pay. .... why don't you just skip it?
They gotta eat this is how they make the free content.
Don’t mind they have to pay the bills
Glad they have people who also invest in the channel so they can keep making content for us.
That’s why FAST FORWARD was invented. Try it sometime.
You can thank the person that Kyle and his entire family voted for. They are hardcore MAGA and voted for Trump. They are literally the reason the tax credit and tariffs are coming.
if you can really prove that this channel would be wiped out in a week, how did you find out?
As far as I know, Kyle is not political and never expressed any particular candidate. The only thing he's said in podcasts is he does not believe in financial EV incentives at all. Take that for what you will.
And how do you even know that? Were you in the voting booth with him?
Go to other car brands and see what the deals are. Also, did you road test these cars?
This whole video sounded like an ad
That's because it is.
Yeah but this is a good service he’s doing. Good chance dealers in other states will have to do the same thing, if you are in the market now is the time to move.
@@Icayn they are not. I can't find these lease deals in my state.
@@ontheboat8444 sad. if you see my other comment, I asked if anyone else isn't a fan of 90 sec commercials to start videos and all the fan boys came out to defend him, saying you can't get this quality content anywhere. which is hilarious because any EV site, google, most EV channels, provides similar content with much less commercials. oh well. I'm unsubscribing
I just saw a quick review of the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ but I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who would want to see a full indept out of spec review🙌
Oh, I forgot to add a test drive was done in the review i saw. It was amazing
They will stop making EVs and same way Apple stop make Vision Pro when it stopped selling.
Lease is setting $ on Fire 🔥
Buy a good used car.
Enjoy your videos, but this reminds me of the car commercials growing up...
What happen to vinfast car 😁
Time to buy used .... and kia doesn't get tax credits... do they?
nissan is circling the drain sadly
I tuned in for a commentary and ended up seeing an infomercial!
Lease miles are too limiting for me 😔
Whether EV Federal programs continue is in question.
Commercials are way to long.
God bless!
Great awesome Kia deals in CO. Tesla 👎👎
Their podcast is really riddled with ads. Like my job is boring but the podcast is unlistenable with all the ad spots.
Prices always move people more than everything else. The ev9 is the choice on this one.
Elon won’t be happy if the $7500 tax break gets cancelled!
He’s actually all for it
What is the affordable 300+ mile highway range EV? Does Kia even offer one?
And in North Carolina, add a zero to everything.
You say you're not sponsored, but you should getting a kickback on each one lol. You CO taxpayers should be rioting paying for all these car purchases.
Well, they can just keep their EV’s then.
Good the infrastructure is not there yet anyways 🦕 loooove my CT! And my titan xd is not long for this world
Should gas vehicles have not taken off, and we should have stayed with horses and carts? That also needed infrastructure built, but look at where we stand today...
Out of Spec Reviewers are now car salesmen? Love you guys but this one sort of crosses the line...
You say they're not paying you but boy this is starting to sound awful stinky. Your EV opinion appears to be one-sided, and one state favorable. How about you step back and actually look at your channel from my public viewpoint.
Even more Expensive Leases ….. means even more people will wake up and avoid driving an EV at all cost. No one wants EVs.
Yet more and more people buy them. Hmm…
Why are you even watching this channel? It basically only covers EVs, which you clearly don't seem to like.
@@Bremendunderrated comment.
@ due to our inability to move forward, we need to do whatever needs to be done to reach even half the sales of so many civilized developed countries.
As long as the fossil fuel industry subsidies go away.
@ that needs to happen
We need to get away from monthly payments, from lease or loan. Pay cash for your cars!
quick way to kill the car market in the US lol!
90% of the population just can't do that. You live in delulu land.
Zero interest rate for Teslas in Europe, isn't it smarter to put the money in the bank and get interest income and take a zero rate loan from Tesla?
Your "cash only" view on car buying overlooks key financial realities. When I invest my money instead of using it all on a car, I can potentially earn higher returns while making low-interest payments. Many of us need reliable cars for work but don't have $30,000 sitting around. Loans and leases make this possible.
Business owners often benefit from tax advantages of financing, and it helps maintain cash flow rather than depleting capital. Plus, using all available cash on a car leaves you vulnerable to emergencies.
Agree, but that’s not reality. 90+ % of luxury cars are leased and the remainder are financed.
Guaranteed💯
Only In Colorado, and stop it with the fomo.
I was just in New Mexico a month ago and they said that they had some awesome incentives. Also, I was in Alamogordo and actually talked to the dealer in case anybody’s in that area. 🫶🏻🔌
