Floor is part of the choir of the ancestors. This song just gets better with every listen.

The real greatness of this band lies in the combination of exceptional musicians, each of them top notch undenieable. All of them are so good in what they can deliver with their instruments and the composition and lyrics stand out above each other band I know.
So this is also the case with our Queen Floor, she never takes over the whole song with her voice and just does what the song needs, which shows once more what an unbelievable personality she has. I have seen her with her live on 1st of june and she doesn't play it - she really is - a godess.
So that is why she stands back in the choir of anchesters here without starting to be a diva.
After about 300 times watching this now this song went into the top 3 of my nightwish songs and only The poet and the pendulum and the greatest show on earth come close.
Over all a masterpiece that belongs in a museum.
    Greetings from Germany

    The lyrics (from their website):
    Something from the earth came
    Something for the world
    Mosaic of broken fragile pieces
    Tesserae of the deceased
Born to a novel world Endless chain unbroken
    Silent clocks rewinding
My song it is for mankind
Embers to the stars We are their heir, dust on their palm
We are because of a million loves
We're the perfume of the timeless
Last sighs on a dеath bed
Time set for a curious ghost Livеs lived plain and epic
    Of eudaemonia
12 score and 1 chain of lives unending
    Welcoming as my offspring
Walks me to the weave My song it is for mankind
Embers to the stars We are their heir, dust on their palm
We are because of a million loves
We're the perfume of the timeless
Last sighs on a death bed
We are their heir, dust on their palm
We are because of a million loves
We're the perfume of the timeless
Last sighs on a death bed
Time set for a curious ghost We are their heir, dust on their palm
We are because of a million loves
We're the perfume of the timeless
Last sighs on a death bed
We are their heir, dust on their palm
We are because of a million loves
We're the perfume of the timeless
Last sighs on a death bed
Time set for a curious ghost We are their heir, dust on their palm
We are because of a million loves
We're the perfume of the timeless
Last sighs on a death bed
We are their heir, dust on their palm
We are because of a million loves
We're the perfume of the timeless
Last sighs of a million loves

The underwater swimming video was taken from a video called One Breath Around The World by Freediving couple Guillaume Nery and his wife Julie Gautier. Guillaume can evidently hold his breath for 7 or 8 minutes at a time so can go pretty deep.

@@sateentuoksu Nightwish didn't film any underwater scenes. The scene with the skeleton and the lantern fish is a trick. In the scene on the beach, the diver hangs upside down from the ceiling of a cavern. The water that splashes onto the beach is the air on the ceiling. It's just that the camera is upside down.

    hallo,
nice reaction to one of the best bands and the best vocalist of our time. It is time to listen to more Nightwish. Really needed. Never boring. Most songs i have listen to 100-times. And i saw hundreds/tausands of reactors since many years. you can never get wrong with on of the best composer/artist of our time- Tuomas Holopainen - not to talk about Floor.

It's genuine footage of the free divers Guillaume Nery, Tommi Pasanen and Pavlos Kourtellas. Much of it was filmed in the Natural History Museum at Tring in the UK.

That takes a bit of pressure off, lol, they’re the only modern group I’m familiar with that is similar to Nightwish, but every week my knowledge of new groups is increasing.
Kate is pretty awesome, I’m pretty sure I have the best housemate ever… who else would let me run wires all over the living room to watch music videos. Lol

@@DavidBraileyLive I hear you David. Evanescence is usually the only female fronted metal band most Americans ever get exposure to in this similar music style. Amy usually composes music most centered on personal emotional subjects such as substance addictions & inward looking feeling about personal relationships. Tuomas from Nightwish is more about fantasy, drama, loss of innocence, and existentialism. Never feel pressure, although there are many fanatical fans who always take umbrage with Americans using the E word. Ckeck out Amy in live performances and you will understand the difference in a live setting. Watch out for pitch corrected videos. Personally, I love the first to records from the E band.

Thanks for your great reaction to this masterpiece. Here's some probability calculations:
Step 1. Probability of a boy meeting a girl to have a romantic relationship with: one in 20,000.
Step 2. Probability of that same boy knocking up that same girl: one in 2000.
Step 3. Probability of right sperm meeting right egg: one in 400 quadrillion.
Step 4. Now lets assume that you have just those 12 generations of ancestors mentioned in the intro to this song. For the probability of every one of those 12 generations of your ancestors having reproduced successfully with right sperm having met the right egg is (20k x 2k x 400 quadrillion) to the 12th power. Going backwards in time with even more generations of your ancestors, we soon reach a probability of 1 divided by the number of atoms in the entire universe. This makes each one of us a unique miracle.
P.S. Most, if not all, of the free diving sections are taken from Guillaume Néry's short film "One Breath Around The World", which you can watch on his YT channel. His thongs are in fact extra weight to adjust his buoyancy.

Alan Dean Foster is a big fan of Nightwish's music, the famous American fantasy and science fiction writer who applied his writing talent to such hits as Star Wars and Star Trek, maintains a music section on his blog, he also introduces his subscribers with young and talented artists.
"There are many good singers, fewer great singers, and a very small number who are unique singers. Diana is a natural dramatic contralto. This is the lowest range for a female singer. She is also polyphonic. Roughly, this means that when she sings she often sounds like more than one person singing at once. As you can imagine, the combination is extraordinary. So too is her full range.
Singers at age 14 can do things that astonish us. Witness the careers of Jordan and the Dutch prodigy Amira Willighagen. But even when included in this company there is something special about Diana. I love the performances of the two singers I just mentioned, but they are (perfectly) controlled and measured. Diana is more akin to a force of nature. One of the most common descriptions of her performances is “shamanistic.” Some of this has to do with the remarkable timbre of her voice, some with the sheer intensity of her performing. In this she is closer to Floor Jansen. With both women you can see as well as hear the intensity, the emotion, contained with both the lyrics and the music. A duet between the two would be something magical."
I also recommend checking out the top vocalist, the most unique and incredibly talented Diana Ankudinova.

    Darwin?
Einstein's bust changing into an ape?
    William Shakespeare?
The guy turning into a tree is Tuomas Holopainen, the mastermind behind Nightwish?
The diver at the end dropping his camera?
