Always dug the shit out of this band especially being an Az Native myself. Back in the 80’s right before they they released Doomsday for the Deceiver Eric came to are little town of Cottonwood Az with another band Enforce to play at our hangout the infamous B.B.s Billiards only to guest vocal on a song and after the show Eric and the sound guy ended hanging and partying out with us locals and we were gifted with a demo tape they called Flotsam Badness which was of course the Doomsday album. Talk about a bunch of happy Metalhead teenagers it was awesome🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
I'd swear Erik's vocals have gotten more powerful with age. Some of the sickest drumming on any Flots track in memory. The bass, the guitars... this is really really great! Looking forward to the rest of the album!
Insane range, low trunk support, pitch, projection and resonance that you don't hear enough of in Thrash! Not to put down Thrash vocals. I mean, Tom has some of these elements in his voice, Billy was trained by the same vocal coach that taught huge names like Sinatra and it shows in his ability to mix registers as easily as most people mix drinks! Joey Belladonna is a thrash god of voice and even his successor, John Bush, deserves a nod. But Erik is the fucking Symphonic Metal voice of Thrash!
In order to sing with the same tonality no matter where his voice is at in his range is a sure sign he knows Appoggio (the act of leaning the whole 360 degrees of the diaphragm into the lowest ab muscles) just like Bruce and RJD. That's some advanced shit right there!

One of the best...no doubt about it. If you've been listening to metal for 40 years, then you have undoubtedly heard him before. Fifth Angel, TKO, Chastain, Alice Cooper, Impellitteri, House of Lords, Bad Moon Rising, etc. Ken has quite the resume.

This band has been great since their inception. Ken Mary adds an entire new dimension of power and precision. He’s been a monster drummer since I first heard him on Ruler of the Wasteland back in 86.
I love CHASTAIN´s "Ruler of the Wasteland" too! I would never have imagined seeing and listening to the same drummer from that album (35 years later!) * after being part of "soft" bands like FITH ANGEL, HOUSE OF LORDS, .... (I like them too, by the way ) ...... Playing at this level of speed / precision, and like a Beast! with a band like FLOTSAM AND JETSAM !!!! Definitely, all my admiration for the Musical level that KEN MARY (and the rest of the band, of course!) Continues to show many years after its beginnings * I think ERIK's voices are the best I've ever heard him! And I will even say that his singing has evolved incredibly over the years! Fuck!!! I got to meet and see them with Hammerfall in Cleveland back in 2018. Nicest and coolest guys you'd ever meet, same with Hammerfall.
