    I don't understand why so many people are obsessed with Kings and Icons and 34-35'' tires when 99% of them only drive around in the city anyways 😂. I have the TRD Pro with Fox shocks and I haven't run into a trail I couldn't do yet. Plus, the Fox shocks have some of the most comfortable on-road driving (maybe only second to the Ford Raptor). The only mod I did to the truck was swapping out tires for some General Grabber ATX (although I did drive 50k miles on stock Nitto Terra Grapplers and they did surprisingly well!)

    My wife and I love Toquerville falls. We've made the road trip from Tennessee to visit all around Southern Utah, and that has been one of our top places to go. We also just picked up our lime rush 2022 4runner, and it is really cool to see the exact same 4runner running a trail that we are familiar with. I'm looking forward to seeing more great videos with this vehicle, and also modifying our 4runner for our next road trip out west!

    Curious what tire pressure you was at. Doesn't look very low. I have a 2016 4Runner SR5-P. I also have Terra Grappler G2 tires. They are amazing in snow. Yesterday I aired down to 22 PSI. Seemed good enough for what I was doing. Windrock Park in Tennessee. I am all factory suspension. The thin factory skids took a beating yesterday. Skids are my next mod.
    The way I'm looking at this off-road thing ( still new & learning ). I can do some nice trails with factory set up. I need to under protection and recovery. While I'm having fun I'll start thinking about lifting.. Lifting probably wont change the trails I'll tackle. Just may make them easier.

  • @siebitup

    The skids/rails/bumper/winch probably hurt the stock ground clearance. That's extra weight the vehicle doesn't ever have, aluminum or not. Aftermarket suspension setups would obviously negate any loss, but I'm curious how much the front sinks into it's travel with the additions y'all made. Solid trip!

    • @CBIOFFROADFAB
      @CBIOFFROADFAB  2 года назад

      The front droops more than the rear due to the weight of the winch. The front covert bumper is only around 55 lbs so there wasn't much affect when that was added but the winch is 65lbs. The weight of the rock sliders and skid plates had a very minimal affect on the stance because the weight is more centered between the wheels. I would say the clearance was cut by 1" from absolute 0 or factory position.

    • @CBIOFFROADFAB
      @CBIOFFROADFAB  2 года назад

      You are totally right but for the right person this model has plenty of good use. Plus with a quick add on upgrade to the pro suspension you can get more clearance and still retain the really great Fox shocks that come on the pro so you can still save some money even that way.

    • @whocaresjustdoit
      @whocaresjustdoit Год назад

      9.7'' inches of ground clearance is more than enough for 95% of trails out there. Unless you're doing some serious rock crawling, you don't need much more than that. I've done Black Bear Pass in my 2022 stock TRD Pro with no problems.

      You are correct that it is not 100% factory equipment but none of the components we added had any affect on the off-road performance of the vehicle. For example the motor is completely stock and unmodified as well as the suspension and wheels and tires. For all intents and purposes the vehicles drives and performs the same as any stock vehicle. Luckily however we changed the factory skid plates to our CBI all aluminum skids so that the impacts we made with them were not destructive to the vehicle in any way!
