    I have been using the e37SD for the past 4 years - mainly for espresso and cezva. I like the grinding quality. On the negative side, you can't immediately pour the entire dose of beans (for me it's 22 grams) into the coffee grinder - it can jam burrs. This was revealed practically in the first days of use. I thought the engine was defective and contacted Ceado. The manufacturer's representative told me that this was normal, and that in order not to jam the coffee grinder, I should add my dose of beans in small portions. Amazingly...

    You brushed out the outlet chute. Is that a fair thing to do for a zero retention test?

    Great review. But has the grinder been cleaned before? Or is it new? Unless so you can not be fully sure that your 18 grams are fully fresh 18grams and not 16 grams fresh coffee and 2 grams of 3 days ago coffee

      Totally fair point. I have an E37S (not the SD), and I test it every time I clean it. From clean, it keeps ~2 grams (after brushing stuff out from the chute). In normal use, dose consistency is excellent (+/- 0.2 grams), but there is a little bit of exchange in that. Probably less if I had bellows on it.

    How are you liking it after having it for 1 year? I’m thinking about getting one to add to my current Niche + C40 grinder collection

      I still love the daily ritual of making coffee with it although the size can be a little inconvenient but it’s awesome! You never take the bellows for granted that’s for sure

    Interesting device - although the size, weight and price suggest it's aimed at the commercial market, rather than the "prosumer" level Niche Zero.

      That’s a great point, I would say it’s more than prosumer definitely, perhaps very artisanal, it’s very cool and I can imagine it sitting proud in a high end cafe or restaurant

    Hi I have questions I have same grinder, and when I rotate for coarser the wheel move upon the right side around 1-2mm and when go to finer go down back.Did u have this problem?

    • @coffeeandproperty
      @coffeeandproperty  3 года назад +1

      Ah interesting, it may well be that has not gone on perfectly straight, try removing the wheel, use your brush to clear any build up (if any) and make sure the washer is flat and then retread, that should sort it!

    Hi I had tthe Ceado e37S but it was broken in transport, so i bought the Niche. If I want to upgrade to the e37SD I would like to know the taste difference,. Does the SD taste much better???

    • @coffeeandproperty
      @coffeeandproperty  3 года назад +2

      It’s interesting, I would say the niche is most versatile, but the e37sd has more fine tuning. Amazing for espresso. It’s tricky, to me the taste wasn’t mountains different if I’m honest, but the 37 was perfect for espresso

    Hi. Can u transform e37s fo sd? If you just change the hopper for this?

    • @coffeeandproperty
      @coffeeandproperty  3 года назад +1

      If you are able to buy the bellows then I believe this could work, although the bellows do not screw in, they sit on the top

      The burrs on the SD are unique for the e37 range. They're the only coated burrs allowing for RDT use (spraying with water). The burrs in the other machines are steel and will corrode/rust.

    • @dlevi67
      @dlevi67 2 года назад

      There are a few differences in addition to the bellows - the burrs are coated, the motor is set to a lower rpm in the SD and the 'mushroom' at the top of the motor shaft is shaped differently. This said, I have an E37S and I get the same dose consistency (retention is not zero... whether in the 'S' or in the 'SD', there are about 2-3 grams of old coffee in there).

    I bought a Ceado E37J coffee grinder, immediately opened it to look at the burrs and saw chips on the cutting edges of the burrs, contacted Ceado and did not receive an answer, that is, the stated 3-year warranty does not work. I do not recommend this company's products.

      That’s a real shame, can you contact the retailer on this? Hope you get it sorted

    • @arkadigreen1219

      I took 4 photos and circled the chips on the cutting edges in red, described the problem and sent it to the seller - the seller answered that such chips are on all the burres of his coffee grinders and that this is normal. There are chips on the cutting edges that will be not cutting coffee beans and gaps of up to 0.3 mm are formed, and Ceado announced gaps of 0.04 mm. Ceado customer service simply did not answer me- no any reaction at all. I do not recommend the products of this company.@@coffeeandproperty

      @@coffeeandproperty I also immediately had chips of burrs on the beans. The manufacturer's representative replied that this is normal, as well as the fact that the coffee grinder can jam if you pour 20 grams of beans at once.
