This is a really helpful talk for everyday life. Just remembering that we all live with uncertainty and don't have ground under our feet or something to always cling to does help deal with unexpected things that come up or living with the things that have come by in our life, realizing that this is life. Part of why I love these talks and have been listening for so many years is because they have helped me have a understanding for how to cope with the hardships of life. I want to say thank you for doing these talks. You have been a true blessing in my life.

If he as a 16 years old boy didn't cry about his father's death he must have had a very strong and different mind from the beginning. I don't know if I could ever learn to not cry. I cry all the time. My body cries, many times I try so hard to control it. It is impossible. The more I hold back tears and try to control my trembling, choking voice, the more my body forces me to bring them out. And then I ask myself, what is wrong with crying? Why do I always get told not to cry? Cry, and then move on. Why not?

Processing feelings is important, and everyone's path is different. Learning to let myself cry allowed me to accept feelings and situations I'd kept bottled up for decades. -Peace and Love

Thank you so much for this talk!!!!!
Again a Ajahn Brahm Classic all the Way.
When recording, or afterwards while editing the Audio :
if you happen to have some kind of DAW ( digital audio workstation ) Programm on your Computer, such as Logic, Cubase, Pro Tools, etc. :
use a little compression, Equalizing and De-Essing,....that softens the "harsh " Sound of your Recording.
And with some tweaking you ll make Ajahn Brahm Sound like a well Produced BBC Documentary.
if you need help on this, please feel free to contact me. I am Buddhist, loving all your Dhamma Talks, stayed in the Year 1989 for 3 Month in a Buddhist Monastery in Bangkok with the venerable Phra Thamrong, living in Germany now, and work in a Studio as a Music Producer, and Pianist.
Naturally, for you my services would be for free, and it would be an Honour to serve the Buddhist Community in WA.
    Namaste

I think more service would be done if he used heavier examples and avoided 'rape jokes' of any kind, die to the stats of women who have experoenced some sort of attack apparently. Why take the chance? Anyway, you know if he can tackle some example of tortured refugees, child suicide, adult survivors of physical and emotional abuse, home invasion victims, dysfunctional families, etc etc. He generally uses pretty tame examples and it might be why he gets accused of bring superficial??
I can see why one might not do so, but also why they might.
