Kudos to Vikram. In spite of hailing from a small town Hubli he went to FTII , Pune to do a course in acting and then moved to Bombay. Getting a break from a person like Devendra Goel is not a small achievement. Basu Chatterjee is also one of the greatest film makers who felt Vikram deserved a role in his Swami. I was not aware till date that Jagjit Singh ji got a break as a music director in Vikram's film. It's a good feeling to note that somebody from my state , Karnataka made it in the hindi film industry. I recall seeing Vikram's bungalow in Hubli several years ago.
So nostalgic.I saw him for the first time in Swami on tv.He was very natural actor.Very tall and handsome actor.He has done very controversial movie like Call girl(1974) & Julie(1976).Both were musical hit.The song ulfat mein jamane ki...was very popular.Dil kya kare & bhool gaya sab kooch from Julie were phenomenal hit songs.He disappeared very early in film career.I saw him again in 90's in the TV serial swabhiman.A lot of good wishes for him.Thank you Tabassumji for making this programme.

Vikram ji was unable to reach the top of superstars list but had made an ever lasting mark with the movie Julie. He had no flaws nor any kind of fault in being an actor but it seems like he had signed up films in a haste and for which he was unable to become a super star. In this video, he shared the reason with our cute and lovely lady Tabassumji that he never had a great, positive and powerful role with good length in superhit movies, which could have turned him into a superstar overnight, like Zanjeer did for Amitabh sir, Aradhana did for Rajesh Khanna sir, Bobby did for Rishi sir, etc. But still he never complained instead kept accumulating his dreams to become a producer so that he can follow what his heart says. He had a very great and strong understanding of and in identifying the unique talents which is quite evident from his movie Situm, starring Nasseruddinji, Smita Patilji and him, besides this Gulzar Saab gave the lyrics and Jagjit Singhji and Chitra Singhji gave music for the first time. And the Indian cinema industry will remain indebted for his service and introduction of Jagjit-Chitra Singhji. Lots of love and best wishes for the rest of his life.
