I grew up during the 80s so I remember Mohan Gokhale quite vividly. Especially Mr. Yogi. Doordarshan was a gold mine during that era. There were so many wonderful serials with amazing stories and actors. I must have seen almost everything on tv during that time! It's so unfortunate he passed away so young. Hope his family knows that he is not forgotten by many of us. He was an amazing actor.
@@anadumuakr4054Very much. Because of these great serials, hindi too became very easy to learn. Though Studied it as 3rd language, out of 50 we used to score 45, 48, sometimes 50/50 also. Thanks to those serials, Ramayana Mahabharatha, 🙏🏼 kabuliwala bengali movie too can' t forget
Taking another stroll down memory lane! As soon as I glimpsed the thumbnail, memories of "Mr. Yogi" came flooding back. I hadn't realized he had passed away. His portrayal of Mr. Yogi truly made our childhoods unforgettable. Thank you for this episode, Hoshang Ji!
Hoshangji, you missed out Lekhu (1986) in your list of TV serials that Mohan Gokhale acted in. This is where I first saw him. His performance was really good. I have always wondered what heights Mohan Gokhale could have reached had he not passed away so soon.
No one really remembers but in the early 80's he started with a serial by the name of ' Chiman Rao ' which was equally hillarious as compared to Mr. YOGI. That serial use to come in the afternoon shift on may be Saturday due to which it was not that popular . He use to play a Maharashtrian person in that serial . As far as I remember ' Chiman Rao ' came in 1986 , Mr. Yogi in 1989 and ' Lekhu ' in 1990 .
@@hemantrajsankhla2406Chimanrao was a classic Marathi show with the stalwart actor Dileep Prabhavalkar played the lead role. I do remember seeing Ashok Saraf playing a guest role as well.
Mohan Gokhale ji was not only handsome, with a charming personality, hypnotic eyes and beautiful smile...but he was extremely talented, versatile and a natural actor. Gone too soon. Miss his powerful performance
I accidently found this channel and liked the content and presentation. As I am grown up in 80's so can surely connect myself to most of the content and legends who are being discussed here. Mohan Gokhale was one of them. Channel subscribed. Keep bringing good content sir.
A very nice trivia on the talented Mohan Gokhale, whom we lost very early. He was a superb & talented actor, otherwise he would have never got a break in Bhav Ni Bhavai a gujarati film which had legendary actors like Naseeruddin Shah & Smita Patil. Ketan Mehta had identified a raw diamond & brought him out from the stage & in front of the camera. The second movie Sparsh was also a critically acclaimed movie directed by legendary Sai Paranjpe. Vikram Gokhale was very good looking & his blue eyes were compelling. Interesting to learn that he had directed Nana Patekar in a marathi play written by legendary Vijay Tendulkar. No one can forget Mr.Yogi, he became a household name after the telecast of the serial on Doordarshan, the masses accepted him with open hands. He was also there in the advertisement of Orient Fans explaining PSPO I did not know that Kamal Hassan had ioffered the supporting role Mohan Gokhale in his movie Hey Ram, which later went to Atul Kulkarni due to the sudden demise of Mohan Gokhale. Atul Kulkarni got a National award for the role cut out for Mohan Gokhale !! This was a great irony !! His roles in hollywood movies like Missisipi Masala were also a class apart. He will always be remembered ❤
I am so saddened to hear about the versatile actor Mohan Ji's such a sudden and very sad untimely demise. May God keep his beloved family healthy and safe.
I can never forget Mr Yogi, I use to sit under my grandma's (nani's) lap, and she would like to keep knitting sweaters while watching. In fact no 80 born child will ever forget Mohan ji. Anyone remember Malgudi days ? Sorry If I became emotional.
As a teenager I was a big fan of Mohan Gokhale...a natural actor like Sanjeev Kumar He was also.. in another popular Hindi serial ..there were many popular actors of that time
It’s so nice to hear tabassum didi’s voice. Thanks for keeping her memory alive and for taking this program forward. You present the program just as nice as her. ❤❤❤
Thank you Hoshang for carrying on your mother's channel. We got to hear the life stories of many a forgotten actor. And we are grateful it won't stop after her demise. Miss Tabassumji. In my childhood I used to enjoy watching Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan.
I remember one of his dialogues, He tells / introduces himself to a girl Y. I. Patel... and she says, It's your problem. I really had good laugh . May be from Mr. Yogi only. In one of your photos, both of them were standing together, who lost their lives suddenly that too away from family. RIP 🙏🙏

Some things become so part of memory. Rip Sir 🌷
