I remember when the zoo TV tour was massive. Bono making calls to the president, ordering pizza for the audience..lol! Even though Joshua tree album will always be a classic, achtung baby and zooropa albums showed them reinventing themselves which was genius. It was an exciting time also cause grunge was at the forefront hip hop was in the mainstream exciting times! I was a junior in high school at the time...God bless you everyone
For a moment in time, they were the most interesting and avant- grade people in the world. Sure, that moment fleeted... and they never reached anywhere near to these creative peaks again... but what a neat historical document.
imo Achtung Baby was ta far higher creative peak, the ZooTV concept was just a gimmick to try and distract everyone from noticing how shitty the album was.
@@lukeingram7655 Zooropa grew out of ZooTV. The tour pre-dated the album, inspired it, then ran in parallel with it. Whatever else one wants to say about Zooropa, Lemon was a brilliant single. I'd also argue that the music of both Achtung-Zooropa and the aesthetic/thematic explorations of ZooTV basically worked as a feedback loop: separating them would essentially undermine the point and, in the case of Zooropa, mean that the music didn't exist at all.
@@mortenpotzdidler1998 I would entirely agree with you on the connections between Achtung/Zooropa but that's also why Zooropa was so dissapointing, on it's own it's not a bad record but in comparison it just sounds like a collection of everything that didn't make the cut for AB.
What a truly magic time this was. Between Actung Baby and Zooropa culminating in the ZooTV experience. The best concert I ever went to at Western Springs NZ. This vid brings back so many memories. Thank you.

Para mí the best show on earth por muchos muchos motivos musicales y artísticos.
The fact about the song, the unforgettable fire shows drawings of the bombing survivors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and if U2 had two covers of the single that is the original showing them and the drawings of the survivors and release it in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, that would have been cool
This is the year that I came alive , I had just graduated high school. Every night going to bed trying to find out the secrets to life on earth. in our galaxy. Weed helps a little. We are having a chemical experience rather then a spiritual experience so much.
Bono is the Kurt Cobain of alternative rock. anything post-zooropa blows everyone out of the water. im an lgbt democrat and i appreciate what he's done for us
That's U2's ex manager, Paul McGuinness. He represented the band from 1978 thru 2013. He was a huge part of U2 becoming who they did-at least concerning the business side of things.
No prob. And yeah, taken from another source. You can tell by just how much younger Paul M. looks in the video-I would say circa 91-92. Also this DVD was released with these bonus features in 2006. The original U2 Zoo Tv live from Sydney video cassette was released in 1994.
To you they did. To me, they have continued to make beautiful music! I owe my entire adolescence and teen years to the great music they made in the aughts.
30 years later and no band has come remotely close to what what U2 did in the early 1990's.
ALWAYS ISBEST OF U2 FOREVER!!!!!!

Al menos para mí, sigue siendo el mejor show de la historia del Pop-Rock.
Saw them 3 times during this brilliant period. First night at la sports arena and 2 nights in a row at dodger stadium. Fantastic time…
Great then and great now! Love this band!

@@zackmack9461 I love the way he speaks.
What has happened to the music?
Clear Channel bought all the local radio stations and Auto-Tune has taken the humanity out of music. Might as well let AI robots sing.
@@skarath Just discovered a band that came out 10 years ago.

JTT was their best era but this was a close second. After this they declined
