Yep, there're clear benefits to keeping your camera's firmware up to date (bug fixes, better stability and compatibility, even the occasional added feature), and it's totally something you can do yourself. Maybe don't be too much in a hurry after a new firmware version is released, as it may introduce bugs of its own. Wait one or two weeks after release and follow what users are saying, and you should be on the safe side. In fairness, I have never encountered any problems with updating my Pentax firmware. Great video Have you run into the problem of losing your LED screen while on p? Mode and SV mode in TaV mode. Cannot even see the menu when this happens. So I have to turn it on to live View. and then my menu will show up so I can reset the camera. To fix the problem.
Any chance that you're having trouble with the Eye Sensor switching off the monitor backlight without you wanting it to? You can set what the Eye Sensor does in the C4 menu.

Is this pretty much the same procedure I should use for my plain old K-3? Also, I have never updated my firmware, so do I have to update each one in order or can I just go to the latest one and use that to update? Thanks for the tutorial. Appreciate the effort. 😁
Pretty much the same process. I've got a video on my channel updating the original K3. Just make sure it's the firmware update for your camera & you can just skip to the latest firmware 👍
