Just bought a 20 three days ago. It drives so easy and smooth you don’t know your in a big truck. Test drove a Tundra then went next door and drive the trail boss and immediately noticed how much better driving it was than the Tundra.
Shannon Leatherman the Tundra is a nice truck. My opinion behind it was the fact that it felt too heavy and there was no rear diff lock. Every truck should have a rear diff lock, that’s what separates a 4x4 from a regular AWD.
This is my dilemma. I’m buying a truck next winter or so and I’m stuck between the 6.2 trail boss, tundra trd pro and the f250 tremor xlt with the 7.3 Godzilla. I want the tundra really bad but so many negatives when it comes to off road. The Chevy and tremor have so much more to offer. I REALLY love how the Chevy looks
nightfall22 I wouldn’t go with the F250 unless i needed a heavy duty. And if i needed a heavy duty i wouldn’t buy a half ton truck. The 6.2 is a beast. You won’t be disappointed with the 6.2. I own the 2019 Trail boss with the 5.3 and love it. However, understand that people buy Tundra not for performance, but specifically a piece of mind when it comes to reliability. All three trucks will last you 200k miles easily, just depends on what you want in a truck. Go test drive them and you will know. That’s what i did, and narrowed it down to the F150 and Silverado.

Y Blaiz I didn’t realize until a few weeks ago you could get the 6.2. I got hung up on color. I didn’t even realize it had the 10 speed until I’d already bought it. I love the 10 speed so far! I’ll know more when I start pulling the boat.

Just traded my 2018 raptor in for this 2020 trail boss, what a difference night and day hope I don’t have to spend all my time at the dealership like I did with the raptor. Nice review 👍
The raptors are very unreliable I was at the dealership every month cuz the transmission kept blowing even after they rebuilt it

It's nice to see that some of you folks are enjoying your trail boss....I bought mine 8/19.... it's been in the shop over 8 times same issues....GM sent their so called experts to fix the problems....ha, they couldn't find the issues....radio has been replaced twice....still same issues...I do have to say it rides nice and runs strong....other than that lemon lawed it...

Purchased the 2019 trail boss Lt 5.3L in September and it’s a lot of fun to drive. I never thought I could fall in love with a machine. I went with the black one and the only thing I wish they offered is the 6.2L.
Andre Trujillo the 2020 is offered with the 6.2. The upmark price is way too much on the TB LT versions though. The custom TB with the 6.2 cost as much as a LT version with 5.3. I went with a 5.3 and LT trim instead because the 5.3 is plenty of power for me.
Just got my trail boss LT with the 6.2. Opted for least amount of gadgets. Wanted engine not more problems in the future.

I got a 2020 in March, and I absolutely love it! I live in the very rural part of true northern CA! Haha off road and trailer mode are the best! I watched this bcuz some silly goose was trying to hate on their trailboss...I wanted to know what others thought...I only found great things! Outside of, the trivial stuff like "it could've had this or that", nonsense.
Plz share with me more on what y'all experienced, plz? I'm still learning so much about this beauty! Good and bad. I'm all ears here, no joke! I was raised by 2 mechanics and come from a long line of body and auto ppl, from rural mountain areas! I know a thing or 2 is!

@@paulpivaral4832 No, other than the occasional thunk from the 8 speed transmission. It was replaced by the 10 speed in most trims for 2020.
JakeDrives you can only get the 10 spd with the 5.3 for 2020 in the lt trail boss and the ltz trims. Obviously the 10spd comes in 6.2 also.

It's funny because my turn signals are full LED. But then again my Trail Boss is a dealer special, so they may have replaced the turn signal casing with the LED one from the LTZ or the High Country. All I know is that I'm missing a couple functions from the LTZ or High Country, but I do have heated and ventilated seats in the front, heated seats in the back, a full 360 camera setup that I know isn't available on this truck, the camera mirror that isn't typically available for this model, and full navigation along with the other top features that you can get on this model. As I stated I may have just locked up, there are dealers out there that do extra stuff to high volume selling vehicles to keep them sales coming in.
As you know Drew and Mason, I'm no truck man but great review 👌. The truck is beastly, and trucks in this category are very appealing for its versatility. I do really like the key fob, and it's cool to see what trucks like this has to offer. Mason, your glasses are amazing, real talk. Do you wear glasses often? I've worn glasses since fourth grade, nothing wrong with it, I hope you feel better soon sounds like you're getting over sinuses maybe. Have a pleasant long weekend you two, God bless.

Conway451 driving from Texas too Georgia yesterday @75mph avg was getting 19-20mpg. Only had one oil change so hoping it’ll go up as engine breaks in.
@@Bayou_Russ Glad to hear that, just traded my 19 Camaro in for a 2020 Z71 and was hoping for not too shabby gas mileage long distance. Driving to NC in the car I averaged around 29mpg, and I took it twice, which was amazing, lol. But I needed me a beast like the trail boss which suits my needs more, even if it meant sacrificing mpg🤣 It couldn't do worse than the Hennessy built F150 that I had before the Camaro which averaged me 11mpg🤣
Why do you keep saying metallic black on the front end? Does it have a metal flake in the front end or is it just gloss black?

same here....Custom TB with 6 speed trans. they have them here in Vegas for under $40k. tough call though between this and a FX4 F-150. I like Ford and Chevy....what to choose.

I mean it depends on what you want. The biggest difference between the two is going to be the cabin tech and luxury being higher in the Chevy. Price will also be lower on the Toyota

A lot of the things you said were standard on the trail boss are only standard on the LT, not the custom.
Right. To not make things more confusing, we just focused on the LT Trail Boss
There isn’t much difference between it and the RST (I have the RST ZR-1 with 4wd). Very nice. About 12/19 mpg. Not easy to park in tight spaces and would have taken 360 cameras if available. They didn’t give me a fair trade-in. The truck was $6200 off but they advertised $10,000.
Have you had a chance to drive the Trail boss with the optional 20" wheels? Curious as to the difference in ride quality on say the highway vs the standard 18" Duratracs?

I have the 18 Silverado LTZ redline and am looking at the 20 Trail Boss with the 6.2. I wish Chevy would take a cue from RAM and offer locking differentials. Add a little more ground clearance and remove the auto stop/start garbage. Make it a true Trail Boss.

Let's face it, the real reason they call this The Boss, is because GM went with round wheel wells so us meaning the buyer can put bigger tires on
last time i sat in a chevy truck the seats were terrible
UNFORTUNATELY MY 2020 trail boss is not good, I had to take it back to the dealer 2 times for lifters repair and something else. Is unbelievable this failure with a less than 10k miles drive. I’m a Chevy guy but this time I feel upset

Texas Guy The Silverado is more sportier in my opinion. The Silverado will actually fit a larger tire due to its rounded wheel well.

The Chevy TB is easily the best looking trim of the new gen Silverado; great combination of aggressive styling without being overdone. Although, I would argue that the Trail Boss package is nothing more than an appearance package instead of a package increasing it's off road prowess. I would still choose a Ram Rebel probably due to manual locking rear diff, more skid plates, and 33-inch factory tires. The G80 locker is perfect for daily driving but a manual locking rear diff is way more handy for off road use. The tires on the TB also seem to look small relative to the rest of the truck's proportions. I can look past the size of the tires, but I think GM really missed the mark by not adding an e-locker, like on the Colorado ZR2, to the TB or AT4 variants.

Mine has 6spd. 👍🏻 well mine has trailer package trailer mirrors and 9 .76 rear axle ; trailer brake controller ; enhanced cooling radiator ; revised shock tuning ; heavier rear springs increased rgawr ; trailering equipment package and 20” wheels . $1250 added -

They do. They also offer the crew with a 6'9" box. BTW that "short bed" is 5" longer than Fords. The Chevy is 5'10".
Even with a 2 inch lift it still looks like it sits low it needs a 4 inch lift
See one in person. They are tall. Especially with the 20" wheels. They get a 33" tire.
