The Jungle Book(2016): Not sure if a remake was necessary, but it gives a gorgeous new look and feel and charm to an old idea, improving it in many ways. 9/10
The Jungle Book: Incredible CGI and good acting, however lack of character development, rushed pacing, and plot holes prevent it from being great. 7/10
The Jungle Book: Favreau uses cutting-edge visuals and a true sense of Disney-like wonder to sculpt the first film to truly warrant a live-action revamp from an animated classic, 10/10
The Jungle Book 2016 review: Visually breathtaking. Amazing performances from all the animals and characters we've grown to love from the past. Emotionally driven and often fun and hilarious, this version of Disney's The Jungle Book is better than the animated movie in nearly every way. 9/10
Escape from Alcatraz: Recently rewatched and the pace was perfect for the movies style. Held my attention throughout. If anything , I didn’t want it to end where it did.
That alcatraz intro was great! What's the name of the song that is always playing under your reviews? p.s. i noticed the shadow of the O hitting the building in the main intro ;)
Good, true reviews here. Especially praiseworthy is that 1st few min when you have 1to1 conversation w/ Eastwood. Connery skyrocketed the profits for his starring role in the Rock. True, Cage & Connery complimented each other remarkably. Never saw HPD, because of those 2 slum stars in it. Didn't miss much, huh?
Hey Jon quick question. I was wondering for your opening intros where you interact with the film; do you find a scene and try to come up with your own dialogue or do have a general idea of what you're going to say and then find a scene that works best with that?
+Boznian95 The former, ALWAYS. No way to write anything until I know what the other person's dialogue is - then I have to fit my stuff into that. Takes a bit of time, honestly - to find the write scene, and write sometihng that fits organically.
I have to admit, even though I'm sick of Michael Bay's overly bombastic style, the Rock was a great film and I even get a bit choked up when the SEALs find themselves surrounded in the shower room and Michael Biehn gives his "we've spilled the same blood in the same mud..." speech- that was some powerful screenwriting by one of the 3 credited writers (I always find it funny that Bay has screenplays constantly tweaked by 10-12 different writers, yet he rarely ever gets anything of note)
Why are you going against Steven Seagal? i love ALL of his movies. Then again i did grow up watching him, the old bond movies, and other classic stuff that is now in this day in age, kinda cheesy. The rock was amazing though (10/10). I've always liked cage in action/adventure roles. However even though you went after an actor i love i liked the video anyways. Keep up the good work Jon. MOAR DETS!
The jungle book (2016) A real good remake and better handles the plot the animals look great and so is the voice acting one of the best Disney live action movie 9/10
I'm...honestly shocked the creators of Half Past Dead didn't get sued for stealing footage from other movies. It reminds me of Uwe Boll's House of the Dead movie where he filmed some jackass sucking at the actual video game and threw the footage into the movie. ...You know what, fuck it, that was basically licensed Let's Play footage, that wasn't straight-up THEFT.
Jogwheel Well, seeing those clips out of nowhere probably gave off the impression someone just took them. Since I never heard of anything happening because of it, I should probably just assume they got a license for it.
Good episode as always. I think I saw an episode of "Bad Movie Beatdown" with Matthew "FilmBrain" Buck on "Half Past Dead". Looking at it here years later, it does look like crap.
Wow, Half Past Dead looks terrible. The only movie I liked Segal in was Under Siege. I've heard mixed reviews about Jungle Book, but look forward to seeing Keanu.
Direct-to-video trash. I had a good chuckle over that one. I think I appreciate this video more, now that I have watched how you edited it live. Now I will go watch "The Rock" because it seems my kind of film and because you gave it "9/awesome" rating hahaha
Yeah, the work you put into that intro pulled off really well; it looks great.
+Dimmeh Looming Glad you appreciated it!
THANKS FOR WATCHING!
hi jogwheel
+Jogwheel Great work, saw the WHOLE EDIT and I did not get bored. Jungle Book was 7 out of 10.
+ Bryan Nguyen 0/10
+ Bryan Nguyen I'm actually looking forward to seeing The Jungle Book.
futurefilmmaker 39480 absolutely,
That intro is amazing.
Anyone else think Dwane Johnson should be in an Alcatraz movie?
The Rock on the Rock.
Rockseption.
+ValtonGamers And the video game would be made by Rocksteady. That would truly rock.
The skit turned out really well! It was fun watching you edit this on stream :)

ToonTownTVFromABC Yes. Great small-scale film.

Agreed. Wish there had been an additional 20-30 min
Loved watching the stream and see the final product!

Finished watching the editing stream yesterday, the intro came out really, really well!

Man, that green screen in the intro was amazing. I need to watch the editing of this video.
+Seth.D Glad you appreciated it!
I only watch these movies for the intros... Definitely worth it this time, great one man!
Keanu (2016)
Good for any fan of Key and Peele, but lack luster for anyone looking for a comedy that lasts - 6/10

It's been years but I remember loving The Rock. Lots of fun and Connery is great.
that cold open... amazing
+Jogwheel 12:27 Outtakes? Are you sure you don't mean B-roll?
+MAKKEBAKKE No, outtakes. Footage shot, but unused in the film film.
I'm...honestly shocked the creators of Half Past Dead didn't get sued for stealing footage from other movies. It reminds me of Uwe Boll's House of the Dead movie where he filmed some jackass sucking at the actual video game and threw the footage into the movie.

+UltimaKeyMaster They almost certainly licensed, purchased, or cleared the rights for the footage though. Perhaps you misunderstood me...
Jogwheel Well, seeing those clips out of nowhere probably gave off the impression someone just took them. Since I never heard of anything happening because of it, I should probably just assume they got a license for it.
Check out Half Past Dead 2. It has no Seagal though.
GET THAT 1080 GARBAGE OUTA HERE
So what method did McKenna die of if he was executed since there were 5 different ways. Or did he get killed before his execution?
+Goldenrod636 I believe he "requested" electric chair... and eventually died by blowing up in the bad guy's helicopter.
mmhmmm that crisp 360p quality
Good episode as always. I think I saw an episode of "Bad Movie Beatdown" with Matthew "FilmBrain" Buck on "Half Past Dead". Looking at it here years later, it does look like crap.
I love The Rock. Good video, Jon.
+futurefilmmaker 39480 Thanks!
Do you guys know the tale of 14-D?
+Yes Im Going To Be That Guy Can't say that I do.
Wow, Half Past Dead looks terrible. The only movie I liked Segal in was Under Siege. I've heard mixed reviews about Jungle Book, but look forward to seeing Keanu.
Great video!! I love your channel
+TØP Maya Thanks!
