Man I didn’t realize this was out or soon to be. Congrats on being the first to feature this one. Truck looks strong. The granite was a no go for me. The typhon was super tempting but just a smidge too expensive for a brushed rig. This one looks better than the typhon. Jaytee did you ever drive the haiboxing 3100a? If so how would they match up? Some MJX Aluminum shocks with 80wt Oil will do wonders to that suspension. The IC2 to Deans T Plug battery adapter allows you to run a 3000mah Angry Snail battery.
Horizon/Arrma is putting so much hype on the Grom platform and you can't even get extra batteries (Spektrum 1400mah) out of stock anywhere for about a month now. Even my 7 local hobby shops in my area are getting frustrated that they can't even get a hand on TLR parts for race buggies and truggies for months! On the otherhand, I have all the Grom, the Mojave came yesterday, and the Granite is my favorite.
@@V8chump i like the Spektrum battery for the convenience and punch. If I was going to buy batteries other than Spektrum, it will bee SMC; similar punch, cheaper, and more runtime. All my batteries that I use for my rigs are SMC.
I picked up my Mojave a few days ago and ran it at the indoor carpet track. Prior to getting it, I had already ordered and charged TWO Ovonic 1500mah batteries with deans to ec2 adapters from Amazon. It worked flawlessly. The Ovonic battery has a higher capacity and C rating. Plus, we are required to run a hardcase at the track; therefore I 3d printed a couple cases. Of which fit perfectly and are actually a bit smaller than the factory Spektrum battery.
would def like to see you run these groms side to side, i rewatched your granite grom video and it looked like it handled offroad A LOT better but i also noticed the grass looked a lot shorter at the time you made that video

If they make a Limitless Grom, I think they may, Arrma will have made about $600 plus off of tiny RC's cars that everyone had to have. The marketing is smart to release them seperately and slowly instead of all at once. That gives people a chance to save money before they need the next fix. lol

Did you get it early because of RUclips or are they shipping? I ordered about 9am the day they were announced and when i checked earlier today mine still said not shipped yet. I'm not really in a rush but they did say they'd ship in June and it's getting pretty close to July.
How does it handle compared to the Typhon Grom? I am a little disappointed in the Granite Grom, but ordered two of the Mojave Groms because I prefer short course trucks. Typhon seems to be worlds apart from the Granite, so hoping it is closer to the Typhon in that regard.
Hope Arrma offers a brushless system with a future model. Since you're tight on space, that Dynamite Brushless Motor/ESC 2-in-1 Combo (6000Kv) system for $80 ought to work nicely in it. Have to get a new TX/RX though. The downfall of 2-in-1 brushed systems... Be cool if they also offered this as a roller.

I've thought about the Granite tires on it after it's brushless. What systems are everyone planning to swap in? I've honestly not found one that i like yet. The little Spektrum seemed nice but the reviews aren't great. The little Castle combo is really even undersized for this. I've actually thought about trying one of the 14th scale MJX angry snail combo's just for kicks. I really hope the aftermarket gets behind these since they're selling so well and more released regularly. It'd be nice to have Hobbywing and Castle options. You think the stock Gorgon stuff would fit? Lol
I ordered the hobbywing 16bl30 esc and quickrun 2435sl g3 4500kv with 18 tooth losi pinion for my typhon grom. Wont be here until july 9 tho. Should be perfectly capable with this same setup.
@@OGSook that was my plan as well. Then I started seeing folks that had broken motor shafts and burned up motors. It seemed the consensus was it was just undersized, and that was on the smaller Typhon. I do think some were also using incorrect bore pinion. Now I'm not so confident in it. I've seen others having mixed success with the micro castle system.

Buy the IC2 to Deans T connector, run any battery you want. I run a 3000mah 2c Angry Snail battery in my Typhon Grom
