Ever since our trip, I've been a huge fan of authentic Thai cuisine because it's awesome!
This is what I call recognizing the value of an asset and capitalizing on it. The Thai government knows that their country has a unique, diverse cuisine, and giving people around the world a chance to experience it would predispose them to an increased interest in Thai-related things. Thailand deserves to have its gastronomy on the map. It's delicious, and they are shrewd for having promoted it so effectively.

Thai food is one of my favorite types of food right next to Indian and South Korean. I went to a high school that was literally directly across the street from a Thai restaurant that mainly focused on noodle dishes and my friend asked to go there with me for lunch one day and we both had the chicken pad thai and it immediately became a regular place for us and thus began my love for Thai food. Most times if I’m in a new city I find the best rated Thai place and eat there to compare from other Thai restaurants I’ve been to. And I’ve expressed the desire to go to Thailand specifically for the food culture for years now. Of course I wanna go for the beautiful scenery, nature, and rich culture but mostly for the food lol. I’ve been successfully manipulated by the Thai government and I’m not even mad about it.
Kind of ironic that I got hooked on Thai food while I was living in Alaska. It was a small town of about 800 and they only had a few restaurants and my favorite was the Thai restaurant
@@mirzantp4663 You take a bagel, often covering the middle hole with a pepperoni slice (though I've used deli-sliced ham, salami, and various cheese to various levels of effect), slather sauce (again, standard of tomato/pasta/pizza sauce) on it, and cover with cheese (typically mozzarella). Or he could be referring to the actually-commercial product, such as "Bagel Bites". Which is the same thing as described, only sold premade in the frozen-foods section.
Bagels are associated with being a Jewish food, but I looked it up and supposedly they specifically come from Jewish people from Poland. I think maybe that explains the salmon? I dunno I am not trying to argue or anything I just thought it was interesting.
I don't even care that it is essentially the Thai government grooming me to go to Thailand. Their food is amazing and it deserves to be experienced by all people.

Thai restaurants are the most effective advertisement campaign for the country. No need of unnecessary spending on Tourism, just let others taste your food. They will surely come for authentic source. Smart people. 😎 Just imagine, they can fulfil their two dreams together, helping the birth country financially and living in abroad with stable income.
There's a thai restaurant near me called Siam Garden. They make great curry, and their duck is absolutely amazing. Point is, the sign's font is all capital letters, so I thought it was called SLAM GARDEN and that's the reason I went there. I still call it that, and get pretty hyped for their food.
Even Anne in Amphibia opened a Thai restaurant They really are everywhere. And they certainly are succeeding because I love Thai curry and I want to try the actual authentic stuff in Thailand on top of seeing all the beautiful scenery and wildlife they have over there. Used to keep two pet Thai Rainbow millipedes as way of having a piece of Thailand for the time being

Fried chicken is just easy and fast in Thailand. You can just order 2 chicken and a sticky rice with 40-45 baths(depend on the areas) and kept going. No particular reason, lol. I'm Thai btw.
I gotta say, spreading Thai food around the world is such a great idea. Expanding a market you have a huge advantage in and gaining good will across the world.

I always liked food from Thai restaurants. . . until I ate in Thailand and was spoiled. I haven't yet found a place that is as good as anything I had ANYWHERE in Thailand. The closest I have had was actually in Sweden.
same thing for every food from elsewhere. italian foods taste better in Italy, french foods in France.. But you can nevertheless have bad italian or french restaurant in Italy or France. The whole gastronomical experience is not only the dishes recipes, but the freshness (and abroad that is hard to have except if you pay a lot, and even sometimes with customs controls that is not possible), the fact that it has not been accomodated to the local taste (more sugar, more oil seeds, less subtile spices for the american people), or even the mood you have when you experience it (for example when you are in Italy you are in an italian mood and the same exact food tastes better, you even build long lasting memories of it, not in your local restaurant). You also have local regulation that prevents you from cooking in certain ways. Some European raw animal products are still forbidden in the USA. Do not eat standard american beef meat rare like in Europe, you will be sick, american standard meat is supposed to be well cooked there is a problem with their supply chain. You will also not use expensive french wines to cook like in the original recipes if you have bought it a fortune in the US.
Kow soi, kow soi, kow soi, is totally the king of all 🍜 noodles. Thai cuisine can never be compared as it has already won all of the tastes that you could never imagined it existed on your taste buds. No wonder why many locals dishes from Thai culinary are being adapted, adjusted & copied internationally. Thailand is definitely a place to be for real foodies lover out there wether at professional levels or not. You will be surprised on how marvelous Thai cuisine has renaissance throughout time, even till dates - where most Thai just seem to take on food tasting or food technology ashore as any other common hobbies. This is probably why Thailand never failed to to surprised the world kitchen with new amazing taste exhibitions and always provides us with fantastic innovation of delicious new dishes year after year.
You'd think I might feel duped, and maybe I am, because this video only makes me want to buy even more Thai food to ensure that Thailand's efforts are successful so that I can eventually just go grocery shopping for some freakin' Thai basil.
Bruh Asian grocer should just be an isle at every grocery store, I always have to take two stops to get ingredients I want, and I don’t even cook particularly Asian food
Well, that plan to get people addicted to Thai cuisine certainly worked on me... I had a Thai Penang curry one time that was so good it pretty much inspired me to learn to cook Thai food. Now I’ve got fish sauce, kaffir lime leaves, and galangal in my kitchen all the time. 😆

ok so story time. Me and my pals used to hit up this one joint for pad thai and they had a 1-10 spicy level. We pretty much noped out at 7/8 because it was ulcer inducing INSANE to us. One day we are eating dinner there and this old lady sits down at the table next to us, talks to the server in Thai and place her order. About 10 min later she gets it. Now we've been there a buch of times and have explored the menu, and never once have we seen these dark noodles that she was just chomping down on. We ask the server what the lady had ordered and were told, it was just Pad Thai. Confused we ask why hers looked different, and the server said "oh she got it Thai hot". Once again, still confused we inquired "thai hot??" The server then went on to explain, the 1-10 is pretty much the limit for most. But the Thai community that came in were aware that they could ask for something "Thai hot" and it was made more like what they would get in Thailand. What knocked us out was when we asked if Thai hot was like "what... a 12/13??" and the server just kinda laughed and said "no, its more like low 20's"
@@DismemberTheAlamo Yes.. on that scale, I'm ordering in the 40's.. I know I'm punishing my body and I sweat and cry and I yell at the toilet, but those are tears of spicy joy. They both wanted to still be together...
But youtube these days do not like those old group collaborations. very sad.
But thai food diplomacy is indeed a tolerable kind of political tool

You guys do realize gaijin goomba still has his own channel you can watch, right?
Gaijin has his own channel and you guys can still watch him
He usually makes breakdowns of identifying youkai and determining how accurate a ninja is based on tales or on how they did their ninja work
Oh but he also toned down the pitch of the goomba part to make it "less annoying", but he's still there
Honestly, I'm not even mad - that's genious marketing. I was introduced through my Muay Thai coach, Kru Denis, almost 8 years ago and while I don't eat it half as often as I'd like, I'm always blown away by the flavours. The chefs and cooks in Thai restaurants are skilled and incredibly friendly
My Name Is Andong just uploaded a similar video but focusing on pad thai specifically! Turns out the thai government has been interested in standardising Thai cuisine for decades! Super interesting to see how you both approached the same topic.
It's good that they "standardize" how the food should be, otherwise, you'll see peanut sauce in Panang curry, or peanut sauce Pad Thai found in those so called "Thai" restaurants , but owned by non-Thais.
Wild. My dad’s old job took him to Fairbanks a lot and I remember him talking about the quantity of Thai restaurants. Makes so much sense now!

Ngl, this seems like a good way to get people to love you
I've seen Thai soldiers deployed to South Sudan with UN. At first the local village was a bit uneasy around them when the soldiers arrived at the village, but they're okay. After everyone takes the first bite of the Thai food they brought, they all sat a lot closer to each other.

“Thai hard with vengeance” and “Thai pod” were my favorite

“Food is a unique outlet for cultural expression” he says as I bite into a pizza-bagel.
What
@@mirzantp4663 You take a bagel, often covering the middle hole with a pepperoni slice (though I've used deli-sliced ham, salami, and various cheese to various levels of effect), slather sauce (again, standard of tomato/pasta/pizza sauce) on it, and cover with cheese (typically mozzarella).

Thai restaurants are the most effective advertisement campaign for the country. No need of unnecessary spending on Tourism, just let others taste your food. They will surely come for authentic source. Smart people. 😎
Just imagine, they can fulfil their two dreams together, helping the birth country financially and living in abroad with stable income.
There's a thai restaurant near me called Siam Garden. They make great curry, and their duck is absolutely amazing. Point is, the sign's font is all capital letters, so I thought it was called SLAM GARDEN and that's the reason I went there. I still call it that, and get pretty hyped for their food.

I always liked food from Thai restaurants. . . until I ate in Thailand and was spoiled. I haven't yet found a place that is as good as anything I had ANYWHERE in Thailand. The closest I have had was actually in Sweden.
Thai food in thailand is the best. A lot of Thai food streets, food shops and Thai restaurants.
same thing for every food from elsewhere. italian foods taste better in Italy, french foods in France..

Haha I love spicy food too, but the pain the next day can be pretty excruciating. Yet I still eat spicy food again and again :)
ok so story time.
Once again, still confused we inquired "thai hot??"
The server then went on to explain, the 1-10 is pretty much the limit for most. But the Thai community that came in were aware that they could ask for something "Thai hot" and it was made more like what they would get in Thailand. What knocked us out was when we asked if Thai hot was like "what... a 12/13??" and the server just kinda laughed and said "no, its more like low 20's"
