    I was doing this ten years ago with my two labs on my mountain bike. I took some hard hits during trading. Once we figured it out we were the favorite animal team in my area. They both got old and passed. Now I got a one and two year old. I plan on getting them on the trail soon. That absolutely love it.

    I didn't know there was a name for this. My pupper and I do this on a skateboard. I've never had to learn too much cuz his basic training has been enough combined with my own skill and strength. I've gotten sick though. I'll be sick for a while but I hope to keep running him somehow so here we are! I hope that if we learn mushing we can continue to be active together.

      My 11.5yr Amstaff girl Georgia has loved pulling me around whether bike or more often skateboard since she was 6months.
      It's an escape while also nourishing each others souls.
      I Pray you are able to shred some pavement soon!

      @@Pawsitivefutures Yes! We did a thousand miles with it this winter, hopefully a couple more next season. But when the snow falls next fall, I'll definitely switch to a sled :p

    Where can I buy that antenna for a bicycle? I've bought the ant antenna and I've broke 2 so far. My dog likes to yank lead side to side before leaving. That's how they break. Once I start peddling she starts sprinting.
    I have two 90 pound Dobermans.

    • @Pawsitivefutures
      @Pawsitivefutures  Год назад

      We often recommend the Non-Stop bike antenna, which you can get here: bit.ly/3LZJVJs
      I would also recommend taking a look at our line-out content. Working on training a solid line out can help you keep your dog straight, reduce the back and forth, and help save those antennas ;)

    Would it be ok to get a rig for me and my australian kelpie? We live in the city and he pulls me on my longboard without much difficulty but we've had a few small accidents

      Hey Chris! Dog-powered sports could definitely be for you and your kelpie! Cani-hiking, canicross, and bikejoring could all be great outlets for you!

    How long after doing canicross would you recommend to move on to Bikejor? xx

    • @Pawsitivefutures
      @Pawsitivefutures  4 года назад

      Great question! And I would say it depends. I encourage people to wait to get on wheels until they are confident in their dog’s ability to pull and consistently respond to direction cues. So, depending on the dog and the consistency of the program, that time frame could look different for everyone!

    I'd love to do it but the rigs are so expensive 😫

    • @Pawsitivefutures
      @Pawsitivefutures  2 года назад

      Rigs definitely are pricey. You can often find them used on Facebook marketplace and in dog mushing groups. And you can also enjoy with bikejoring or scooters, which are more affordable.

    Info on where'd to get equipment? I really want to get my girl into this, starting with canicross this week!

    • @Pawsitivefutures
      @Pawsitivefutures  2 года назад +1

      There are lots of equipment you can get. Here is a video on belts: ruclips.net/video/8D6KXkI_GJk/видео.html
      You might also like this general equipment overview: ruclips.net/video/dRrysQEaCv0/видео.html
      Look for equipment made by manufacturers that sell sled dog equipment, not boutique pet stores. If you are on Facebook I recommend checking out North American Canicross.

  • @88Nikoli
    @88Nikoli 2 года назад +1

    You can certainly assist the dog with a scooter or kick bike just as the real sled dog teams do !

      Hi Kenny- You want to wait until growth plates are fully closed before beginning any running work. But you can certainly grab some equipment and get started.
