- Sleddog racing is normally associated with snow-covered landscapes, yet it was the UK that hosted this year’s 2019 WSA (World Sleddog Association) Dryland World Championships. Ironically, this form of ‘dry-land mushing’ was made treacherous by the muddy conditions after the unseasonable amount of rainfall.
Teams of dogs, their owners, drivers, and trainers congregated at the stunning Firle Country Estate in the midst of the South Downs in East Sussex. Entrants travelled to the event from across Europe, but the safety and welfare of the dogs and the drivers are paramount. Despite the kudos of a World Championship, there is no prize money, and vets and animal welfare charities are in attendance to ensure that the welfare of the dogs is centre stage.
This is so fun! I had a husky named Tito, r.i.p to him. He was the fastest dog I've ever had. I used run him with my bike during the summer and use a jet sled during winter. He was so full of energy and loved to run.
I was doing a research for an Illustration I want to do about huskys siberian dogs and from image to image I ended up here, and this was one of the greatest videos I have seen this year so far, thanks for uploading the video, this has become my inspiration now for my Illustration.
Did you finish it
Seeing those Samoyeds get muddy made me die a little inside as a groomer but seeing them doing what they were bred to do is so cool to watch.
