The best thing about this is that all of the dogs from 1st all the way to last place all had the exact same feeling at the end.... Just pure joy and no care in the world about who "won"
They most certainly do care who wins.
Some of those guys are from half the county away. They didn't drive out there to lose.
If selling dogs that win races is your job, then winning races is your job.
In fact. Some people choose what races theyre going to depend on whos going to which races. Like, if so and so is going there, and i go here instead, I might actually win a race. Racing is expensive. Its hard to justify traveling for a race if you don't think you will at least be in the money. And its hard to justify owning so many dogs if you aren't racing. Its this weird dilemma.
I kind of think the races should be made illegal. You could easily replace the race at the trappers festival there with sled dog rides and demonstrations. Theres lots of mushers in that area.
What people do to win is disgusting.
I've been a lot of places and done a lot of things but nothing can compare to the feeling of being on the sled seconds before they drop the flag and then how time stands still for a few moments after you pull the pin and the controlled chaos of 100+ dogs storming down the shoot can't wait to pass that on to my sons
I remember as a young boy when our late mother would take us to the Trappers Festival from Churchill, MB. It was always exciting to see the start of the dog races. This drone footage is awesome! (y)
Awesome!! Saw the Video being played on Canada AM on CTV this morning!!
Is there any more beautiful sight, this side of Heaven, than a team of sled dogs going flat out?
Some have commented about the audio. What they may not realize is that drones do not record audio. If you don't like the audio tracks I have chosen, then turn off your audio.
They sure love to run! I just hope when they are old and can`t run anymore, retirement doesn`t mean a bullet in the head!
Awesome shot
The Past Trappers Festival, Summer rodeo, Opasqua Indian Days. Three of the best times to be in The Pas.
MBCI all the way.

Hello Susan how are you doing today.

Awesome video, need to get me a drone lol
Keep up the good work
Espectacular espero algun dia tener esa experiencia en vivo
Классный ракурс съёмки.
Oddly satisfying.
Is the musher on the left at 4:29 trying to intimidate the team on his right, did he yell. He sure stared the other teams dogs right in the eyes.
Darwin I would like your permission to use this clip?
How many kilometer are they doing?
Wow😍
i was there
I love dog sledding I'm new to this RUclips I post short clips I'm from nunavut canada
Does anyone know where do these guys sleep ? Do they carry sleeping bags with them or ?
Darwin I'd like permission to use your video
What are you wanting it for?
Wow
How many countries compete in this?
It is the 'World Championship Sled Dog Race', but it is typically dogs and mushers from Canada and U.S.A..
But so like. 1 horse-sized dog, or 10 dog-sized horses?
what breed of dogs are they?
They're a mix of breeds that combine endurance and speed. There are longer races in colder environments that require a different combinations of breeds. Very interesting competition.
ik they got some huskies out there lol
Remember folks... Put your dog in a harness to help stop pulling!
"Day 1 of a 3 dog race."
I think you mean "3 day race." 😂

They want to pull so bad lol
Less the banjo music, I might of enjoyed just hearing the dog bark, yelp. Why do people feel like they have to add music to their videos?
its ironic ,this type of dogs pulling sleds , 90% of tows dogs wold freeze to death if left outside at -20
Wow that was fast and furious
Great job
togo
balto
buck
looks like ants to me
That music is horrendous, why would you ruin the best part of the video with such a terrible gimmicky song. Literally as soon as the dogs stop barking too.
As I stated in an earlier reply, drones do not record audio. The dogs barking was recorded on a separate device while the dogs were 'barking' in anticipation of the start. If you have watched any dog races in person, you would know that the dogs go dead silent after the race starts. As for audio tracks, RUclips is very restrictive about audio rights. If you don't like what I have chosen, as I have said earlier, turn your audio off. Also, if you knew anything about our 'trappers festival', you would know that banjo music is a big part of the celebrations. It is quite disheartening when someone uses a multi thousand $ piece of gear to share an experience for free and someone has to make a negative comment. Because of people with comments like yours, I have quit posting 'experiences' like this. The first year I did a drone video of a 'mass start' dog race, I found out it was the first time ever that a mass start had been done from the air. Please don't knock something until you can prove that you can do better.
